He already has his 25 years so you can bet your ass he will retire in August 2024 so that the next guy can get his "high 4"
You’ve got to be kidding right?? I’m with you 9:59. I’m just going to sit back and watch this appointment explode right in front of our eyes. MHP deserves everything it gets with this choice. Just when it looked like things might be salvageable, then there’s this. Let the skeletons start coming out of the closet gentlemen...... and “side chicks”.
By the way, there were very few, hardly any, current troopers who “liked” the DPS Facebook post about this. Wonder why that is.
10:24, What would you suggest that he does? 25 years as an LEO is still better than sitting in your momma's basement.
10:24 - I am as against the stupid PERS 'high four rule' as anybody - but if a public employee has worked 25 years as a government employee, and gets promoted at that stage to a higher management position, I think it is all together proper for that to be the basis for his/her retirement.
The stupid, idiotic, non-practical basis of the 'high four' is for those folks that work at part-time, or low level, positions for a decade or two and then get a political appointment to a position that pays high five or six figures, changing the retirement from meager dollars to massive monthly checks.
As to this individual, I don't know him. And I don't care. But I am happy for him to get a higher retirement on his new "high four" that was a promotion from years of service working his way up the ladder.
Find another way to bitch about his promotion - he's the wrong one, he's not a good leader, he's part of the bad culture in DPS - anything else - and if you are correct I won't disagree.
But just because he got a promotion after his 25 year career and he will get a higher retirement is not a good reason. Get a grip - you evidently aren't in that category and just want something to bitch about.
Oh shit!!!! Haha! This will not turn out well! Reeves is gonna regret this one, along with a ton more of his political appointments. As soon as they find him screwing all the willing females at headquarters, I’m sure Tate will see he made the wrong appointment.....again. Until then, I’m just gonna sit back and watch the shit show unfold. This is gonna be very entertaining! And the practice of putting non leaders in leadership roles continues to strive! Thank God I’m retired!
MHP needs to come up with another rank structure - calling these guys Majors, Colonels, etc. is an insult to those of us who EARNED those ranks in the military.
Next thing you know the gaming commission will claim to have a SEAL team...
Congratulations to Lt. Col. Ginn. MHP will be well served. It's times like this when people should stand behind the appointment and help him and the MHP succeed. To those who choose not to do so, it would serve the citizens well if you would "do your job."
@10:44 - shouldn't troopers be working instead of playing on facebook?
Lt. Colonel Sanders, hehehehehehe
All of these negative comments about the Colonel's virility leave me thinkong some of you are jealous.
Shouldn’t leader be in quotation marks?
Hide the key to the Boom Boom Room!!!
I know a guy who lives in Lexington..was a school principal in Clinton, retired from that and got hired by the National Guard headquarters for another twenty years....managed to get himself put in charge of a bunch of guardsmen for two weeks, shipped to the middle east and got the rank of Light General, then retired. Never engaged in combat, wouldn't know combat from snake-shit, never commanded jack shit. Two week deployment living in a tent next to the runway. NICE RETIREMENT.
I don't know the guy, but I do wish him well.
Actually I'm still laughing about the Col. Sander's reference.
Original recipe or extra crispy ?
PLEASE promote this dude to Colonel!! (Sanders)
Congratulations Michael. I was surprised yet so happy to see you rising to the top. Hope all is well with you and your family. Keep your head up. There will always be haters and they are going to do their job. HATE! Love your Sister “Barbara”
