Ag Commish Andrew Gipson issued the following statement.
The Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum is hosting a special ‘Tis the Season event from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023. The festive, community-focused event will feature a viewing of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” a special tree lighting ceremony, which begins at 7:00 p.m., Christmas carols and Christmas lights throughout Small Town, Miss., and the museum grounds. This event is open to the public and no admission fee is required.
In
addition, CareCenter Ministries will hold a food distribution for those
in need, while supplies last. Food distribution
will be located in the Smith-Wills parking lot on Cool Papa Bell Drive.
Guests can drive through the parking lot to receive their food, and
then stay for the festivities. After parking, guests can enter the
museum by crossing the bridge entrance next to the
Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
This event is sponsored by the Hinds Behavioral Health Services, CareCenter Ministries and the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum Foundation.
