Abortion Clinic Calls it Quits

Jackson Women's Health Organization called it quits.  The abortion clinic fought in court to reopen after the Dobbs decision forced it to close its doors several weeks ago.  JWHO sued to stay open but lost in Hinds County Chancery Court.  The clinic appealed to the Mississippi Supreme Court but withdrew its appeal today.

Good. Tear it down and build a memorial for all the babies murdered. That would go well in the wokeness that is Fondren.

Anonymous said...

But I was told abortion makes up just a small percentage of valuable services these clinics provide...

Anonymous said...

Huh, that's weird. Whatever happened to "we provide a wide range of women's health services, not just abortions."????

Anonymous said...

"abortion care"

Anonymous said...

Bring the bulldozers out today!

2:14 little do you know of women and abortion statistics. Most are safe medical abortions and they are done at home not the clinic. Prob at your suburban home since there's a 25 percent chance some female in your life, which inlcudes women outside of fondren, have had one.

99.9 % abortions-

The building has already been sold. It will be interesting to see what type of business will be there next.

This is what is going to turn Mississippi Blue, a majority believe in a womens right to choose. Laugh today, call me crazy, but let’s talk in 10 to 15 years!

2:48 the baby is still destroyed, no matter how you cushion the comments.

2:14 has the winning post. Put up a memorial to the dead.

Anonymous said...

"This is what is going to turn Mississippi Blue", and then you woke up.

I don't think this will be end of the issue, just the end of it for a Plaintiff who no longer has or apparently wants a building or a business in the fight or in the state.

Anonymous said...

Well, you can't have a Women's Health care center if you can't figure out what a woman, or baby, is, can you? Don't you need a Jackson Birthing Person's Center for the Prevention of Births? Abortion mills seem to be a dead end business.

The crusaders got what they wanted. Will they now quietly go home? I doubt it.

They're probably going to continue to get in people's faces and yell at them, because that's what they do. They just need a righteous cause to excuse their conduct.

That building has a date with a bulldozer

@3:06

Women can still choose to use pre coitus or post coitus birth control. They simply can’t choose to snuff the life of the body in theirs

Anonymous said...

Great for Fondren, sad day for women who have one less option to control their own bodies.

Funny how you folks don’t believe in gun control but believe in controlling a woman; believe in the sanctity of the unborn “life” but believe government should put people to death with little or no evidence; believe in leave me alone but i can tell you what to do; and, perhaps most importantly, believe you are getting into Heaven when Scripture warns against such hypocrisy.

May the soil, the sounds, and the souls of that place all Rest In Peace.

Anonymous said...

i hope all you bible thumper's are signing up to support a forced birth child to 18 y/o .....

3:06 PM, outdated argument. #1, a democrat cannot define what is a woman #2, right to choose went out the window thanks to Fauci and Dobbs.

There’s a thing called CONTRACEPTION - not real complicated.

"This is what is going to turn Mississippi Blue, a majority believe in a womens right to choose. Laugh today, call me crazy, but let’s talk in 10 to 15 years!"

You couldn't be more wrong. You liberals went too far advocating for the murder of babies up until the moment of birth. It turned Americans off. You couldn't be satisfied with abortion up until viability, and Roe would still be the law of the land. 15 Weeks in MS wasn't good enough for you loons, so you foolishly sued because you all are brainwashed by national media and now it's no more.

Anonymous said...

3:50 - weak arguments -- gun control, death penalty, constitutional right to abortion - please connect the dots.

And death penalty with little evidence? And thirty or more years of appeals and reviews? How many death penalty cases have been decided in the last two decades, and what was the (very little) evidence? Smoking guns in hand don't count with your adjectives.

They deserve to rest, they got RvW overturned. They should be held up as heros by the right and religious.

I'm not the least bit interested in controlling a woman's body, and I do know what a woman is, but I am interested in preserving innocent life.

I'm not the least bit interested in controlling a woman's body, and I do know what a woman is, but I don't want my tax dollars supporting the murder of innocent life.

For the GOD hater sitting in the back, I didn't have to thump a BIBLE to get those two opinions.

I bought the building and we are going to remodel it and provide free Morning after pills and other contraception devices for the public all funded by George Soros.

To 3:06pm: Then there are people like me. I am a woman (biologically) and I don't care about this issue - not at all. Go either way, I don't care. I will vote based on the insane inflation and "climate" policies that kill middle class and the poor economically, and and I bet I'm not alone.

4:33:

Abortion on demand at the moment of birth is a falsehood pushed by you and your ilk. 90% are performed in the first trimester. 1% are conducted after 21 weeks, which is still months away from the moment of birth and are generally due to the mother's health concerns or fetal abnormalities.

None of us "liberals" want a 9 month baby aborted because it makes us feel good. That's just a lie the right-wingers keep pushing to justify their position.

Same 5:05. I am the same as you.

Lynn Fitch is getting all the credit for work she didn’t do. She just wants glory.
I’m not proabortion, but being a man, who will NEVER have to make that decision, I don’t feel as if I can tell a pregnant rape victim, or pregnant incest victim, or a 10 year old pregnant child what they can or can’t decide to do with their own bodies.

Justice for Women said...

It’s ironic ain’t it. If only Jackson Women’s Clinic had not filed the lawsuit they could still be in business conducting abortions albeit with restrictions. Instead, they had to go for broke and look at what they caused for the entire country. What a bunch of assholes.

Anonymous said...

You nailed to the wall for them 3:06, I don’t think it’s going to take that long in the Sun Belt and beyond. Walker maybe had a chance in Georgia but forget about it now. North Carolina and Texas are next and Louisiana and Tennessee won’t be far behind.

July 19, 2022 at 3:32 PM Exactly. They are the most hateful people on the planet. Many did not care about the abortion issue. They'll take their bullhorns to a restaurant, a grocery store, a concert... All about control. Certainly not about promoting Christianity.

Anonymous said...

That particular building and property is absolutely tainted to the core and should be worthless. But given where it is, I can see it repurposed as a medical marijuana dispensary/Hacky Sack outlet and everybody in Fondren would be just happy. Or happier.

Anonymous said...

We are arguing about women’s rights in a time when we can’t even say for sure what a woman is. Women’s rights have regressed 60 years and it has nothing to do with Roe or abortion. How can you claim to be pro-women and let men dominate womens sports?

Let’s not hope none of your 5th grade daughters get raped and have to become a parent before middle school, your star athletic daughter that’s trying to get a scholarship at her dream school had sex for the first time and the contraception failed, your married adult daughter that has an ectopic pregnancy and may die bc no OBGYN is willing to go to jail and refer her to Illinois. Shame on you for eliminating a safe effective method for unintended pregnancies that you assume are straightforward scenarios.

Great news! Now no more babies will be murdered in the “pink house of horrors”
.Any so called doctor who performs abortions as their primary practice should be charged with capital murder, convicted and publicly hanged. I am glad that the SCOTUS put a stop to using abortion as birth control. Doing that is no different from sacrificing babies th baal or dagon!

It’ll turn blue eventually, the disease and failure are spreading and colonizing from the West Coast and New England. Probably would be a good idea to buy property in and around downtown Jackson. Once they start gentrification, all that cheap land and abandoned buildings will be a gold mine. Good news is once there’s a Trader Joe’s, Urban Outfitters, and Juice bars the city will have to fix the water problem.

"Shame on you for eliminating a safe effective method for unintended pregnancies that you assume are straightforward scenarios."

Wow.
I'm a flaming heterosexual male and I have never encountered a woman that told me "OK Bob, the Walgreens fertility test kit says I'll be ovulating for the next hour so get your ass in here and lets get this done and over with before I change my mind about renting (you DO have money to pay the rent, don't you Bob?) my body out to an alien creature for the next 9 months."

GTFO with that argument.

Don Drane said...

All you hand-wringers on both sides of this issue are conveniently denying the fact that The Supremes did NOT outlaw abortion or your/their right to abortion. Simply, it's now up to the individual states to craft a policy regarding abortion. Nothing has been outlawed. No rights have been usurped.

Abortion was never a constitutional issue since it's not addressed, even by the wildest imagination, in our Constitution. And, according to our Constitution, a matter NOT addressed in that document is left to the states.

You people who favor abortion following a night of clubbing, stepping out or giving in by spreading knees....can still have it. Either your state will allow it or you can travel a short distance to a state that does. Put your torches and pitchforks away.

How do idiots like this ^ still not understand that abortion is still legal in many states? Some of us actually have cars! People in the 'Sip are used to having to drive/fly long distances to receive certain medical care, this is no different. A good friend of mine had to get treatment in Boston and I know several people who have been treated by the Mayo Clinic. If someone feels an abortion is needed, the opportunity to get it is still there.

Anonymous said...

Let's not forget the profit motive. Do the math on the clinic. 2600 abortions, $600 apiece, cash up front. That's $1.53 million a year for writing ten prescriptions a day.

Stop lying to yourself. The Democrats attempted to pass the "Women's Health Protection Act" in the Senate. All Democrat Senators except for Manchin voted for it. I read the damn bill. It disallowed any restrictions regarding viability i.e., up until the moment of birth. But, keep on spouting disinformation to every one when you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Rape: morning after pill; Premarital sex: birth control; Ectopic Pregnancy: by definition a medical procedure, not an abortion.

Nearly 80% of MS abortions were minority women.
Sorry Western Chauvinists but your plan will see you outnumbered in a decade or two.
By the way, while you are doing that you'll be guaranteeing the death rate in pregnancy for your women climbs. You've already made us a 3rd world country and insured fewer babies survive!

Your baby citizens are 1.4" at 6 weeks and 3" at 12 weeks and look like a tadpole not a human.

Here's a hint: If your wife ever had a D&C, that was an abortion and likely because the fetus died in her womb.
Now you'll have to hope for a painful miscarriage of dead fetuses so your wife won't die of sepsis.
If you think your wife or daughter or daughter in law or sister dies less painfully than a first trimester fetus, you are mistaken.
If you think the fetuses aborted in the second trimester had formed normally, you are mistaken. Remember that when it happens and have the guts to be in the room and see for yourselves what you caused to happen.
I am sick of having to tell grown women who are so ignorant of their bodies that their D&C is the brutal abortion and the induced labor does tear fetuses from "limb to limb". It's induced labor.
Ignorance is going to make us extinct along with other life forms.
You aren't Pro Life, you are Pro Stupidity!

If we (men as well as women) had full and legal authority over all aspects of our bodies
then prostitution would be inherently legal. Eighteen-year old co-eds could sell themselves
to meet tuition and then ponder the horrifying abortion as effective birth control.

I usually like what you post, so I don't know what to think of you singling my post out. I will assume you just scanned it and didn't give it proper thought.

There are qualifiers in my post, that perhaps you missed. The first qualifier was/is, I don't speak for anyone, but myself. Me, myself, and I are the only ones that I speak for. I try to say what I mean, and mean what I say.

The second qualifier was/is, the word most. I know many intelligent people. Some of which I wouldn't consult with on controversial, or close personal issues because of emotions that are involved.

"Emotion, related to instinct and happy memories, plays a role in most choices." the subject of this article is the murder of unborn babies. I really hope no one is getting the warm and fuzzes over that.

9:29, dilation and curettage is not an abortion. Abortion literally means to “abort” the pregnancy. Dilation and curettage Is the removal of the body of the fetus after a spontaneous abortion. A spontaneous abortion is an intrauterine fetal demise, also known as a miscarriage. Dilation and curettage cannot be an abortion after a spontaneous abortion, as a pregnancy can only be aborted once.

I only "singled out" your comment because I am partly an artist and have tried and occasionally succeeded in creating/ playing toward a positive emotional response to my work. As a result, I have made a long endeavor to study human instinct, emotional positive response initially, then reinforce with practical considerations.

I think you will recognize that emotions are at work in dating, selecting a spouse, a home, a car, a vacation, a sports jacket. In short every decision one makes has a strong emotional component, including whether to risk pregnancy and whether to adjust one's lifestyle in order to welcome a child who may have been an accidental consequence of emotion.

A D&C is an abortion if it removes a fetal tissue.
You seem ignorant that if a law makes no exceptions, those exceptions don't exist.

And, more than a few idiot legislatures have failed to grasp that and given the impregnated egg citizenship whether that fertilized egg is in a fallopian tube or failing to form well in the uterus or if the ambiotic fluid or lining feeding the fertilized egg has flooded from the woman's body but the heart is still beating.
And, the absolutely bizarrely false things many of you believe is horrifying in those taught to read and write!

Anonymous said...

10:22, please go talk to your nearest obstetrician. A d&c is not an abortion unless the baby is alive when the procedure begins and the procedure terminates the pregnancy. Abortion actually means to abort. If the fetus is no longer alive due to IUFD, then the d&c is not aborting a pregnancy. The IUFD (miscarriage or spontaneous abortion) terminated the pregnancy.

It's very amusing to me that the leftist's tactic in this debate has literally been, "If you don't let us kill the black babies, more black babies will be born" or "If you don't let us kill the babies, your babies will get raped."

Never change, yt leftist.

Anonymous said...

10:22, you’re titling at windmills. No one is stopping obstetricians from terminating ectopic pregnancies. And the others are right. D&Cs are not abortions. The fetus is no longer alive when they begin. At that point there is no longer a pregnancy to “abort.”

Anonymous said...

Wait a second, 10:22. If what you say is true, then how are D&Cs being performed in Mississippi right now? Obstetricians are not being arrest either.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
