So, DA Owens says his office will "continue to protect the innocence of children and hold those who misuse their position of trust accountable for their actions"
He said this on the SAME DAY that he said he would not enforce Mississippi's laws regarding abortion providers - that he represented "all the people".
Evidently he can't put the two statements together ------ how is he going to 'continue to protect the innocence of children" while not protecting the "innocence of children who are yet to be born".
Guess his Soros endorsed candidacy can tell the difference when he is deciding which of Mississippi's laws to prosecute and which ones he choses to ignore.
Are those dates correct? Crime committed in January of 2016. Conviction on July 7, 2021. Sentencing on July 21, 2022. WTF!!!
@6:12 AM - yes, because his defense attorney gets paid by the year, not the hour.
Does anyone else think Jody Owens is actually a decent DA, surprisingly? (Soros)

Tell that to those who oppose mask mandates and vaccinations, but are anti-abortion
He can say that because due to privacy laws, there is no way for him to know what goes on between my doctor and myself unless I appove it. Have abortion prostesters ever heard of HIPAA? You know, the federal law that protects a patient's health information from being disclosed without the patient's consent.
All news organizations leave out the worst part of this case. The 16 year old girl is his great niece.
Hang him from the Vicksburg Bridge.
BTW, Jody Owens is a first-rate lawyer. Consider his predecessors if need be. We haven't had a good DA for generations. But will he take on the gangs? So far he's shown that we'll need the FBI and other assistance. Early results are mildly encouraging.
He's ambitious, of course. As it happens, we're looking for a new mayor, or should be. Jody would likely build up what's left of the JPD.
I have been pleasantly surprised by DA Owens so far. I was certain he’d be as bad or worse than Eyebrows Smith (if that’s even possible). But Owens seems to be competent, has a work ethic (I.e., is moving cases) and I haven’t seen him issuing many “blessings”, regardless of race. Hope he keeps it up.
