While the Biden administration whines it can't rescue Americans trapped in Afghanistan, an Oklahoma woman managed to rescue ten Afghan girls on the country's robotics team.

At least someone has the guts to do something.
The article I read said Roya Mahboob, an Afghan businesswoman is the one responsible for arranging the evacuation with the Qatari government.
Afghans have been incapable of creating a functioning nation for their entire existence. What good does it accomplish to bringing Afghans here? Their religion alone is incompatible with the our culture of freedom.
We should have never left Afghanistan. It was a waste of 20 years and trillions of dollars to just hand it back over. We shouldn’t have been there in the first place, but once we committed to a war, we should have stuck it out no matter the costs. Hopefully we learned a lesson about staying out of future foreign conflicts.
I don’t give a rat’s behind about the fate of any backward islamic militant shitholes. And any Americans living over there are either stupid, or 3 letter agents, and not worth saving.
I often wonder why America doesn’t try to win wars. It started with Korea, then the Nam, Iraq, now Afghanisthit. America stopped winning wars when we started worrying about what people thought about us during the campaign. Our enemies never fought with their hands tied behind their back’s but we always do. And we lose a lot of good kids wasting time and energy. War should always be so awful that the enemy gives up and begs us to stop. But we always worry what people that despise us anyway will think. That’s why no one fears us anymore
Good for the girls! Bless anyone who assisted to make this happen.
American and ally military forces have murdered over 1,000,000 million Afghanistan citizens since the war began. Now, since they no longer control Afghanistan, America wants to “free” the innocent victims. GTFOH. You can’t have it both ways.
How the eff does the armchair general posting as Anonymous 7:01pm think the good old USA was going to "win' the Korean War?
Maybe march North to the Yalu river? Split the American forces to have a pincer movement for maximum risk reward ratio?
7:01 You Sir are EXACTLY right!!!!
@7:01, I disagree. We stopped winning wars for the only reason any nation stops winning wars. We lost the ability to do so. Period. The rest is fantasy, bred from too many John Wayne movies.
Don't you understand, there are, for example, 1.4 BILLION Chinese. How to "win" a war with them? Nuke 'em? To what end? They might wish to nuke us back. If the good folks of Afghanistan want to live in the 14th century, why should it matter to us. Vietnam? Are you kidding me? We lost that war the day congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. I remember it very well indeed. Anybody who did not know, did not understand what was going on. Week before last, provincial capitals were falling to the Taliban. Biden's mouthpiece sd, not to worry Kabul won't . . . A week later, that prediction was "inoperable."
In the words of that fine mass murderer (of American boys, 60,000 of 'em) Robert MacNamara, or was it William Westmoreland, "we made a bad guess." We tried, split this country in a way that we still haven't healed, and we lost. Same in Afghanistan. Same in Iraq. Saddam Hussein was all we had to occupy Iran. We showed him. Are we better off or worse off?
The last war we "won," if you can call it that, was WWII, and that was b/c two oceans kept us from being invaded, and our industrial output kept the English and the Russians in the business of dying until Germany collapsed. As for Japan, I read once, although I cannot cite the source, that in December 1941, Japan had the industrial output of Detroit, Michigan. Wars, good old fashioned megadeath, protracted conflicts between industrialized countries require lots and lots of planes, tanks, guns, uniforms, ammunition, MRE's, and manpower. Japan never had a chance, over time.

I was a waste of trillions… but we never should have left… and we never should have been there… and your solution is to STAY? No matter the fiscal or human cost?
Honestly… what the fuck are you talking about? You’ve contradicted yourself in each sentence.
We don’t go in and win wars anymore because there’s not enough profit in winning a war…but there’s huge profits in maintaining a war. Defense contractors who run Washington don’t want a war to end in a reasonable time frame. Don’t worry though…we will be in another conflict soon. Washington will need a reason to maintain all of that military spending that we do.
The Dixie chicks were right all along, but they weren’t allowed to speak out because of the conservative cancel culture. The conservative right just isn’t willing to listen to a reasonable opposition to a war and this is where it would inevitably end. George W gets the all the glory for this along with his his faux patriotic base.
More so called conservatives have obsessively fapped themselves into a frenzy with war and death worship since Dumbya Bush took office in 2001 than in all the centuries before.
The referenced article is Qatari propaganda.
