Lynn Jumps In

Attorney Generalissimo Evelyn Fitch issued the following statement.

The integrity of our elections is paramount to our Republic. The people of Mississippi must have  confidence that their votes are not diminished by fraud.

Since taking office earlier this year, I have gone to court to defend the integrity of our own  elections against outside groups seeking to use the pandemic as an excuse to re-write the laws  passed by our duly elected legislators.   I have also joined my colleagues from other states to  defend the fundamental principle that courts do not write election laws; they interpret them. When  courts seek to do otherwise, they violate the separation of powers that is critical to our
democracy.

And, today, I have joined my colleagues in supporting Texas’ efforts to ensure that our elections  are free and fair.   Voter fraud elsewhere dilutes the votes of Mississippians and it makes a  mockery of the very foundation of our government.   I am proud to defend the votes of the people of  Mississippi and will continue to fight for their rights.

What a pandering statement. The fact that our state officials are wasting time on this is repugnant.

Fighting a losing battle against the international central bankers. The writing on the wall should be easy enough to understand. But the population of this nation has become willfully ignorant.

Four US Presidents were assassinated during battles over monetary policy with private, international central bankers. Abraham Lincoln (1865), James A. Garfield (1881), William McKinley (1901), and John F. Kennedy (1963). Andrew Jackson famously vetoed the bill renewing a charter of the private Bank of the United States. He survived his assassination attempt.

Donald Trump should be grateful he was merely cheated out of office.

What a complete and total moron if she thinks that is what that lawsuit is about.

Anonymous said...

What a brave brave action by this brilliant litigator. The court needs to act quickly
to negate this travesty of an election. Just because fifty lawsuits have been declared meritless doesn’t mean they lacked merit. It just means that the courts are as rigged as everything else. Everyone and everything not pro-Trump is by definition rigged.

Is this about the national election or possible voter fraud by a Ridgeland resident?

Fair election. Trump lost. Biden will be President.

Is it’s “Gods will” for Biden to be President like it was in 2016 for Trump?

You are correct. It’s a battle between the elites that worship Babylonian gods and the ones that worship Egyptian gods. Innana vs Isis. Moloch vs Osiris. No matter who wins, we lose.

I’m a liberal and I say we should let the fringe trump republicans go through every legal challenge they desire. It only strengthens the validity of the Biden/Harris win. Last thing we need is the same shadow of illegitimacy over our victory, as Trump had with Russian Meddling/Collusion.

Say what you may about Fitch. I personally like her umpteen times more than her predecessor. What I find extremely odd is the fact that the MP and L lawsuit which was providing funding for a huge legal base on both sides suddenly went away when Hood got clobbered. The funding for this law suit came from the state on one side and. MP and L on the other. The states money came from taxpayers (you and me). The MP an L
Legal fees came from the rate payers (also you and me). This frivolous law suit funded by the taxpayers all of a sudden went away when Fitch took over.

The lawsuit is about Texas + et al thinking they have the right to tell any other state how they may or may not hold elections and its patently ridiculous. She's pandering, nothing more.

Its over Donald. Pack your knives and go.

The rest of the republicans need to think real hard about how they're going to manage to be competitive in national elections having now lost the popular vote in 7 of the last 8 elections and it begins with ceasing to believe in every conspiracy theory OANN or Newsmax peddles. I'm a proud never-Trumper who voted for Biden, then a straight GOP ticket, so I'll respond.

I'm also a lawyer who has read the corrupt Texas AG's stupid, frivolous lawsuit, which I'll predict the Supreme Court will deny to hear on a 9-0 vote.

It is not "never-Trumpers" who cannot read. I would remind you that your Dear Leader said -- while pandering for YOUR vote in 2016, "I LOVE the poorly educated."

Drumpf was speaking of, and to, people like you. He's a con man and a pathological liar. He's fed you a steady stream of lies for five years now. And your brain, being small, can't tell the difference between the truth and a lie.

Mencken said, "A demagogue is a man who preaches something he knows to be false to an audience he knows to be ignorant."

Millions and millions of poorly educated MAGA rubes -- who believe the lies about election fraud -- are the proof in that pudding.

And again, Lynn Fitch is not a serious person.

Lynn is so brave to join this lawsuit. While other State AG’s do the research, writing, and are generally aware of where the judge sits in the courtroom, Lynn hides on the 12th floor of Sillers yelling at her staff about the pros and cons of her latest headshot, and waits patiently for the other state to file the brief that she can join 3 weeks later after a crack review of press coverage to ensure it was positive. Seriously, she is saving Mississippi so much money by doing nothing.

Anonymous said...

It’s impressive that her staff has time to stamp her name to Texas’ brief considering Lynn’s office has told every district attorney’s office that her office does not possess the litigation expertise to handle the conflict of interest felony cases. She is begging DA’s to take cases back where the judge has ruled a conflict exists and assigned the AG to step in...

Maybe Texas can help Mississippi DAs by prosecuting the cases and letting Lynn join at the end?

Anonymous said...

What do the accusations against the Texas A.G have to do with this lawsuit? If I understand correctly 17 other states have joined in this lawsuit. Are you saying the A.G.'s from all of these states are corrupt? If the Supreme Court is not corrupt, they will send this back to the defendant states to have the legislators of those states choose their electors. This is the direct remedy for this contested election according to the U.S. constitution. Harm was done by the defendant states when the voting rules were changed by the courts of the defendant states as well as by some elected officials. The constitution says plainly the power to determine the rules of an election resides only in the legislature of the states, not the judiciary, or the executive. These four states violated not only their constitution but the U.S. constitution as well.

I suspect this is the only way they could actually get a Hail Mary in front of the U.S. Supreme Court (going through the courts of appeals on the other cases is just too much work and takes way too long for someone with the attention span of a squirrel on meth).

Since no one has mentioned it, as far as I can tell, there's also this:

KF, I am against mail-in voting as well for the same reason you state. It makes it easy to engage in voter impersonation and manipulation. In some cases it could even swing an election result if it is close like Florida was in 2000.

However, in this particular case, I don't see any way there could be enough fraud to change the results of the election. Trump would need to prove hundreds of thousands of votes were fraudulent, and so far there has been no evidence that shows that is remotely possible. The will of the legitimate voters is still being reflected even if there are some improper votes thrown in.

It seems to me the True Believers are being primed to discard the institution of the popular vote, which is the foundation of democracy. As we're being led down this path, we should ask ourselves where we are going. What will this country look like if we invalidate the popular vote? (hint: take a look at Russia, China, North Korea, etc.)

I realize there are logical, and mostly-reasonable arguments to justify every step along the way. But, again, shouldn't we ask ourselves where we are going if start down the path of invalidating the vote?

I also realize some people already believe that the popular vote is invalid. To those people, I would ask whether they really want to live in a dictatorship or absolute monarchy. If you think you already are, then you are detached from reality and beyond reason. May God have mercy on your soul.

Anonymous said...

To all of you people who believe that mail-in votes are fraudulent, have you ever lived in Wisconsin or Minnesota? Those people have been voting by mail for years. It wasn't fraudulent apparently until Trump lost. If those people stood in line for hours upon hours to vote like the people in Georgia had to, they would freeze to death. This is the 21st Century and Mississippi would do well to acknowledge that fact. In this technological age, there is NO reason whatsoever to stand in a line to vote. Mississippi will ALWAYS stay at the bottom of the barrel because it refuses to embrace change, technology, nor equality. Lynn Fitch is wasting taxpayers money on this baseless lawsuit, and she should be audited right now by Shad White and required to refund every penny spent. Trump needs to take his "L" and go home. Biden has the "W".

To the idiot that believes all of the shit that comes from the mainstream media, I don't know what to tell you. The Trump legal team hasn't filed 50 lawsuits. I know AG Fitch ain’t the brightest bulb in the room, but I thought she at least had some integrity. But no, she merrily joins the sedition seventeen in this frivolous, shameful Hail Mary attempt to overturn the will of the American people like a good little Trump sheep. Thank God the SCOTUS isn’t falling for it.

And those of you like 1:56 pm that keep pushing the lies, I don't know what else to tell you, other than bless your heart.

What was that sugar, a snowflake? Ain't you special. How long was that bus you rode? I was hoping for a more stimulating rebuttal but that would have been asking for too much, right.

I don't need to accept Bribem. Trump will be your President on 1/20/2021. You need to come to grip with this now.

One more thing, if lying Dan Rather said it, it can't be true. That dude has been tell lies since 1963.

Another perfect example of wasting the taxpayer's money for personal political gain. Just pandering to the uninformed.

Anonymous said...

Another national embarrassment for our state.

That cat at 1:56 must have hit a nerve.

Taggart in a red leisure suit! LOL. I closed my eyes and imagined it. I think it would have worked! But, only with burgundy cowboy boots.

1:56 p.m. is a bit early to be hitting the bottle, isn't it?

Snowflake = butt hurt Trump lost

Rule 11 FRCP sanctions are in order against Fitch et al. Disgraceful. Anitdemocratic attack on our Constitution that Fitch is sworn to uphold.

@ 2:45

You forgot that she appointed Mississippi’s first solicitor general, who never actually worked a day in the role

Finished reading the principle briefs. Very confused as this seems like the opposite of every Republican/conservative principle. It would be the destruction of States Rights. The idea that a state like New York could sue Mississippi to tell us how to run our state and the federal government could intervene to make us do what New York wants. For instance, the position being advanced would mean that California could sue Mississippi and challenge our voter ID law.

Another question: is Michael Guest going to resign since he evidently believes he was re-elected fraudulently???? What about Cindy Hyde????

The 10th Amendment is for me, but not for thee. Let's face it, the 10th Amendment was about preserving slavery, then segregation, then chipping away at abortion, then the right to vote, then healthcare, then whatever the hell Donald Trump says it is.

Ooooh that one’s gotta hurt Gene!

In what can only be considered shocking to many of the mouth breathers above, SCOTUS slapped the Texas petition out of their inbox in record time. Thank God.

Anonymous said...

Well that was fun.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, takes breath, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAH!

And yes, I chose a NYT article on purpose.

Interesting that Lynn is suddenly such a Trump acolyte considering she ran off the criminal division and stocked it with Hillary supporters. Look at the head of criminal’s social media from 2016 posting about crying on election night. RINOs!

A few comments here aged quicker than broken eggs. This should end every signer’s career including Lynn. I’m ashamed our state is mentioned with that bs.

And for those who went so far as to label the Texas lawsuit "seditious," here's a press release from the Chairman of the Texas GOP, Allen West, in response to the Supreme Court decision:

"Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution."

https://twitter.com/kherman/status/1337552676805091329/photo/1

That sound to me a lot like a call for secession. I'm pretty sure I can guess who the first president of the new Union would be.

Lynn's career is intentionally (by herself) ended in three years. She's racked up enough PERS credits for a really comfortable retirement on the state-teat. In an historical context, she may be the highest-earning-retiree ever in PERS to have never actually worked a damned day. I considered Cecil Brown before I typed that sentence but then I do remember him working three or four days out of his thirty something years.

All of this to placate Trumps ego. Why are most Republicans afraid to speak out? Because Trump will tweet support for another candidate in their next election. Just like he cast support for Tuberville over Sessions in Alabama. The old Auburn coach was quoted as saying the three branches of government are the President, Senate, and House. He’s going to the Senate and doesn’t even know such a basic civics question. Hey- maybe he know now..

It’s all about being re-elected. Money. Power.

Term limits. 2 for Senator. 5 for house.

California would jump at the chance to become a separate country. The union us irreparably broken.

When secession and the new formation succeed, will the Democrat Plantation of the Former United States still exist and will slavery, once again, be legally recognized? Might as well legalize it since it's inherent and systemic to the party.

My suggestion for the new nation is The Republic Of New America.

Jacksun said...

I will NEVER vote for Lynn Fitch or Michael Guest again. They have disqualified themselves sine they do not uphold the Constitution of the United States 🇺🇸 of America.

Anonymous said...

My guess is you didn't vote for either in the first place.

Anonymous said...

Too bad they dismissed it late on Friday. It will be Monday before someone on her staff can explain it to her. On the bright side, Michelle has all weekend to figure out how to spoon feed the information to her.

Anonymous said...

I didn't vote for Fitch, but I did vote for Michael Guest. I truly believed that he would be above the BS in Washington, but he started drinking the Kool-Aid as soon as he got there. Damn, Michael, you used to have morals and believed in the Constitution. What happened? Gregg Harper, one of the nicest people I've ever met, also lost sight of his morals and the Constitution when he went to Washington. Being a Congressman just sucks the good out of you.

Anonymous said...

Mississippi is damn lucky that states like NY and CA keep us afloat. We take far more from the feds than we put in. We hold the nation back

Anonymous said...

GOP is full of the politically mis-informed and unstable.

11:41 - I'm concerned about people like you voting in the first place. If you really think the actions of those supporting 'the Texas initiative' violates the Constitution you are the little white ball irretrievably lost in the weeds.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
