Dispatch From Pelahatchie (ATL Edition)

A potentially deadly arrest in Pelahatchie thankfully did not turn deadly.  WJTV reported:

Sawces said the officer pulled over the suspect for an expired tag.  The suspect bowed up to the officer and what should have been a simple traffic stop escalated.   The suspect is much larger than the officer, who is rather slight in stature.  Thankfully, some citizens intervened and took down the suspect before any shots were fired.

Kingfish note: Damn lucky neither the officer nor the suspect was injured or killed.

Black male attorney here. This was horrible. Absolutely horrible. Glad that no one was injured. First, the video doesnt show the whole occurrence so my opinion based on the portion that I saw. 1) Because we do have a right to unreasonable search and seizure, I would hope that if a person ask, why am I being arrested, the office has enough training to inform them. 2) Why arrest someone for an expired tag...write them a citation, tell them to pay the ticket or show up for court. 3) At the point you are arrested, whether you agree or not, you should put your hands behind your back and comply. If the officer is wrong, fight it in court, not on the side of the road. 4) The guy who was arrested, just went for a small fine to facing serious prison time because he didnt have the ability make better choices. The guy should never have picked up a taser and pointed it at the officer. NEVER NEVER EVER put an officer in a situation where they may be justified in shooting you. A ride to jail is better than a ride the morgue.

The media's headline is yellow journalism or just plan ignorance.

The officer was involved in arresting a suspect who was resisting arrest, not involved in a "fight."

Pelahatchie was an outstanding Mississippi small town under Knox Ross. What happened?

I regret not investing in "Dollar General's" & "Family Dollar Stores" ten years ago.

But back to the story:

When a 90 pound lil' Knight of the Vale takes on
Ser Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane . . . it's bound to be ugly for the lil 'Knight of the Vale".

Bless his heart. The little sawed off runt on a power trip got his ass beat.

Certain people have lost their fear of assaulting law enforcement officers. They've been told - and evidently believe - all police are bad and compliance with instructions given should be refused.

Remember when most criminals "respected" law enforcement, even when breaking the law, because the penalties for assaulting them was severe? Those days are gone. Unfortunately, when criminals no longer have fear for a greater authority, what we get is more frequent and worse crime.

The police chief saying, "The gentleman that was involved..." That's no "gentleman," you idiot. Police spokesmen use that term to describe thugs all the time...that or "young lady." It's infuriating.

It may not be politically correct, but in the everyday world of kickin' ass, size counts. The smaller the officer the more likely the gun becomes necessary. Fortunately, other proactive citizens were around and no one lost his life. Hopefully, a lesson learned.

Prime example of why police shoot people.

Instead of "the talk" for young AA men, they should be shown this video and be made to understand the po po is not out to kill you, but they will if you fight them.

I would have shot the suspect had I been there in order to protect the officer.

The person talking on camera but hiding their face should have not been put on camera. Own it or shut up.

Bet you don’t see this in Clarion Ledger on any of the local TV news. Doesn’t fit the narrative

There are too many dumbasses out there who think they know enough about the law to make the call of whether the police have the right to stop them, question them, and arrest them. No doubt many honestly believe they are lawfully resisting an illegal order from a police officer.

To the afore-said dumbasses: What you think you know about the law, but don't actually know, may get you years in prison, or even killed.

"the talk" about police for black folks ought to be the same one this white guy received from his mom. first, obey the laws to minimize interactions with the police. that right there's probably the best, and easiest. second, follow their orders when there is an interaction. you are not going to win an argument with an officer on the side of the road or once they show up somewhere. you think you didn't run the red light, or weren't speeding, or didn't steal something, or try to pass off fake money, then fight it in court. and never try to physically fight with an officer.

if you fight the police, try to take their gun, or taser, point it at them, or come at them with a knife, you deserve to be shot. and shot dead. nobody's fault but your own. your life choices and decisions created the situation that required an officer to be called. there is nothing you can say to me to make me change my mind about that. if that makes me a heartless bastard, then i'm a heartless bastard, but i don't give two big shits, or even one little shit about somebody that died while fighting with an officer. it's just too damn easy to not fight an officer and stay alive, than it is to fight an officer and get shot. but then, i have more than 2 brain cells to rub together.

since obama started with "the officers acted stupidly," immediately after saying he didn't have all the info, the complete disregard and lack of respect for the law and law enforcement has been going down the toilet. then all this year, it's been defund the police, disband the police, all cops are bastards, and many other slogans, chants, and rallycries. career criminals that have been killed fighting with officers are getting millions in donations from leftists and cities from settlements. why wouldn't someone with a low IQ fight an officer? if they get shot and wounded they get millions in settlements and gofundme donations. if they get shot and die, their family gets the money. this has been happening all year, bad behavior being rewarded.

liberals, socialist, democrats, progressives, communists; the LSDPC crowd. they created this, they encourage this, they promote this, they vote for this.

anybody that actually thinks and especially says police, or white people in general, are hunting black folks is a racist. and anybody that believes that racist lie is also a complete moron. think for a second, if police and white people were hunting black folks, there wouldn't be any black folks. black folks are not being hunted in America by police or white people. maybe by other black folks, but not police and whites. don't get mad at me for saying it, look at the numbers. other than abortion, and some health issues, another black male is the biggest killer of black males. not the police, not a white guy, not a conservative, not a republican, not a Trump supporter, not a rankin county resident. but instead another black male.

didnt malcolm x once say something about "the white liberal?" lying to a group of people, trying to convince them that the color of their skin, not their actions, is going to get them killed. that does nothing to help race relations. but, those kinds of folks don't want race relations to improve. if they did, they would be out of a job, there wouldn't be a race hustle anymore. and blm wouldn't have been able to raise billions of dollars this year.

@10:36

You'll never get why the talk is necessary, because you do not want to understand, and you do not care to understand and change the status quo with respect to bad LEOs. Funny thing is, I grew up believing in the company line that the police are your friends that was espoused throughout time, until I and several friends and acquaintances had issues for no other reason than we were black. If good LEOs kept bad LEOs in check, we would not have these issues. I do not understand why this point is not heavily stressed. If good cops continue to let bad cops operate unlawfully, then they are complicit. My guess is only people that want to be criminals have a real problem with ALL LEOs.

If you didn't know, one of the main points of "the talk" is, do not do anything that will not allow you to get back home to the arms of your parents. When we have the conversation, there is nothing that says disrespect LEOs, there is nothing of that nature at all. We tell our kids to be law-abiding citizens. So, you probably need to sit down with someone black that you know and ask them about "the talk".

Walk The Talk said...

3:05 - The problem is The Talk ain't The Walk. If The Talk was also The Walk, Jackson would not be a shit hole and 100 Black Men (and other meaningless groups) would be in demand all over the country.

Most of you who push the myth of The Talk believe 'driving while black' is a real thing that will get you arrested.

December 24, 2020 at 3:05 PM; this is 10:36. it's not that i don't want to understand or care to understand, it's that i can't understand what it's like being pulled over for being black, cause i'm not black. but i do know what it's like to be pulled over by a white flowood officer for some bullshit excuse in order to walk a drug dog around my car. and where did you get the idea i don't want to change the status quo regarding bad officers. no one with any common sense wants to keep bad officers on the streets. that does a disservice to everyone. good officers do need to do more to oust the bad officers, and i think everyone can agree on that but the vast majority of officers are good, do a good job and have no agenda against black folks. i'm sure, in the past, being harassed and pulled over for being black was more commonplace, but it is not the epidemic nowadays that some black leaders, politicians, white liberals, and the media, make it out to be. black people are not being hunted by police.

i still stand by my point that it is the individuals decisions that determine the outcome of interactions with officers. you, your friends, and acquaintances, even though you "had issues for no other reason than we were black," had enough common sense to know you shouldn't start fighting with an officer. you all were probably also not a felon in possession of an illegal firearm, or have multiple outstanding warrants or have drugs on you that would cause you to decide to try and fight your way out of it instead of being a man and accepting the consequences of your actions. this has been the case with many, if not most of the instances that resulted in a black man being shot by an officer. and not a case of some cop looking to murder a black man.

you can't help it if an officer approaches you and harasses you for no reason. get their name, badge number, and file a complaint, maybe even sue. but you can keep from getting shot by that officer by not trying to fight them. that's my point.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
