Food Fight!!!

The Democrats are apparently having a little civil war over the cancellation of the gubernatorial debate last week. Y'all Politics reported:

Emails from multiple members of the Mississippi Democratic Executive Committee provided to Y’all Politics reveal a major break in decorum along racial lines over efforts by the Jim Hood campaign to impugn the credibility of both the Director of the Hinds County Democrat Executive Committee Jacquie Amos and JSU Director of Communication Dr. Elayne Hayes-Anthony...

Editor’s note: After this story published, the Hood campaign told Mississippi Today in a statement: “We were not offered any alternative dates, were never contact by WJSU and were advised that only three of the eight (D)emocratic candidates were invited.” The campaign also objected to the format and several individuals who would be involved with the event.

After repeated attempts to contact the Hood campaign late last week, the campaign declined to make the full statement that they made available to Mississippi Today on Tuesday to Y’all Politics. The campaign responded, “We have nothing else to send regarding this issue.”....

The statement sent by Hood’s campaign pointed particular ire toward Jacquie Amos, Chair of the Hinds County Democrat Executive Committee and also the Field Director for the State Democratic Party. It clearly insinuated that the debate effort had “an ulterior motive other than informing voters,” and alleged that the political operative (Amos) “called back and stated in a loud voice that “this has cost me a lot”. The Hood campaign statement concluded, “This very unprofessional approach sent red flags up in every direction. We are not sure which party is behind this, but this was not a legitimate forum.”

Amos responded to the MS Democratic Party executive committee in an email stating, “It is not uncommon for county parties to hold events designed to educate the public about the candidates and issues in an election. Nothing about this proposed forum violated the party’s bylaws regarding neutrality in a contested Democratic primary contest as the party was not taking a position in favor of one candidate over another.

The requirements for determining which candidates would meet the threshold were reasonable and comparable to what other political party organizations and new organizations have used to determine participation in events of this nature in the past. July 24, was an alternative date given to the Hood Campaign and I was informed by the CM that it wouldn’t work that the best they could do was a prerecorded interview. I relayed that message and both the members and WJSU denied that request.”... Rest of post.

Kingfish note: The real problem is the Democratic Party of Mississippi is a majority-black party, something that is sometimes forgotten by a few Democrats.  Amos does the real work at the party while others attend dinners and pose for Facebook.  The Democratic Trust crowd thinks it runs the party.  Throwing Amos and other blacks overboard is not going to play well among the majority of its members, elections be damned.

The Mississippi Democratic party statewide is simply a protest party... no chance of winning, just make noise. Many of their operatives would just as soon turn Jim Hood into a divisive candidate and make the campaign as racial as possible, since they will ultimately loose anyway. Hood asked for this so he'd better just grit his teeth and ...

The Democratic Black Caucus will burn down Him Hood to get rid of Bobby Moak. White democrats should have learned something from the truck driver in 2015. They will need to be taught another lesson in August.

The Mississippi Democratic Party-- FUBAR

Vicki Slater treated black Democrats with the same indifference.

Hood thinks that all he has to do is work the black preacher circuit harder to avoid her primary fate yet, somehow, that additional outreach doesn't extend to actual black voters.

Really enjoy Jim Hood's everyday Bubba TV commercial where he comes home at the end of the day from his office ... in Houston.

@ 1:55

you do realize..........his office is in Houston MISSISSIPPI.

You don't realize that "wherever he hangs his hat... is his office that day" 2:22.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! 1:55 PM Need to do your Due Diligence!

Yes 2:22. We all realize that MS has a Houston, and that Hood has moved his personal office to Houston - although the office of the Attorney General of the State of MS is in the Sillers Building, in Jackson. As all the other statewide elected officials offices are located in Jackson.

Hood, being a privileged white Democrat thinks that he should not have to come to his state supplied office in the seat of the government - it is too burdensome on him to do so. To actually work for his salary (the second highest elected official's salary, for that matter.) His theory is that he has a staff located in Jackson, and they do all the work - except of course for the many, many cases that his trial lawyer contributors get given to them so that they can garner large fees from any settlement. How else would those law firms be able to afford the large contributions that they annually make to General Hood.

Granted, those contributions have been denoted as "campaign contributions" but our esteemed general has chosen to use them for personal living expenses these past several years, at least according to the meager information he has provided on his "campaign" finance reports. The expenses he lists for those years in which he doesn't have a campaign seem to be what all us normal peons and serfs would consider our monthly living expenses - car notes, insurance, etc. But since he can get his trial lawyer buddies to pony up money every year, why not use it for commuting expenses? Hell, now he has even bettered that - why commute? His thinking has improved to "Let the state rent me some private space in Houston (yes, its Mississippi, we know) where I can completely control who gets to see impose on my otherwise valuable time."

No worse than the food fight taking place on the GOP ticket over who loves Trump the most....leading the charge is Sam Britton and Mark Baker, but reeking of desperation.

As a long time friend and supporter of Jim Hood I take deep umbrage at the suggestion it is wrong that his office in in Houston. Of course it is. He may be dumb but he is not stupid. What sane person given the choice between risking life and limb to "work" in Jackson or living and "working" (if that is what it is) in Houston would not do the latter?

No, not me, I'd rather be raped and killed for nothing living in the dunghill of Jackson.

Come on, like I said, he may be dumb but he is not stupid. He is my candidate and I will vote for him. I would even consider dying in a ditch for him. So long as I don't have to live in Jackson.

Food fight on the GOP side indeed. You couldn't find anybody in Mississippi 3 years ago who supported Trump and now there's a mad rush to be his man-bride. And I agree, the more desperate candidates are pushing the "I love Trump" message the hardest.

Where will they all be when Trump inevitably implodes and embarrasses himself, the party and the country?

@5:14 PM...President Trump will win his second term by a landslide in spite of your asinine predictions. Maybe if you give your "Trump Derangement Syndrome" a rest and take an HONEST (remember, leave the TDS at home), look around I bet you would be amazed as to how most everything in the country has improved greatly. There really are other views that look nothing like the walls of your parents basement.

He's already done that and Tater and Phil are still leading the line. Some Mississippi Values.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
