 Attorney General Lynn Fitch issued the following statement.

 "The City Council's got two options, the way I see it.  One is bankruptcy or they can work with us and pass this bill," decreed State Senator Joel Carter (R - McInnis's 12 Bone BBQ) as the State Senate Energy Committee passed a bill that will create a utility district for the city of Jackson.    

 Clayton Cochran is a free man but might still wind up back in jail after he goes to court this month.  Cochran is the son of the late Senator Thad Cochran.  

 A former State Senator might be going to jail because he just couldn't stay home while on house arrest. WLOX reported:

 College football stars might be getting special treatment in Mississippi after the House of Representatives passed a bill that will make their NIL compensation tax-free.  

The Justice Department wants to expand the jury pool in the prosecution of Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens, former Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba, and former Jackson Councilman Aaron Banks.  

It will probably be awhile before Dow Yoder gets out of jail.

 On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, like a plurality of other Americans I woke up exceedingly relieved that Donald Trump had demonstrably won a second term in the White House. Frankly, I cannot imagine the state of our nation today if Biden, Harris, or Walz had led us for the past 13 months. And they were the cream of the crop for Democrats, the very best!

ABC customers continue to struggle as the warehouse runs nearly a month behind on filling orders.    ABC warehouse manager Ruan Transport chose to remove the conveyor belt system and replace software system at the same in January.  The result was a meltdown in deliveries to restaurants, bars, casinos, and package stores across Mississippi.

Former prosecutor Dow Yoder might have finally burned himself after he allegedly set fire to the Yana Club of Mississippi and a dumpster at the Pig and Pint in the Fondren last night.  Yoder has been arrested several times since 2020 as he continues his downward spiral to rock bottom.

 The Justice Department finally got former Lamar Adams associate William McHenry.  While the feds were not able to convict him for his role in the Madison Timber Ponzi scheme years ago, a jury found him guilty of lying to bankruptcy court this week.

Harold Stiff got stiffed in Jackson Municipal Court after Jackson Municipal Court Judge denied bond on his second aggravated assault charge.  Stiff has been an up and coming student of the Hinds County Catch & Release Program.  The little hoodlum was passing with honors until he played around in the wrong county last week.

Will Mississippians be able to buy wine or liquor on Sundays?  The sale of spirits on Sunday has been prohibited since the state legalized the sale of booze in 1966.  The Mississippi House of Representatives passed a bill last week that will indeed allow such sales.
