Best News in a while!!

Oh no! I don’t want him or the Lt governor RINOS! I’ll stay home and not vote

Anonymous said...

Anyone is better than little king tater tot…I mean anyone!

Anonymous said...

Oh boy. Maybe he can screw that up too!

Anonymous said...

no thank you

Anonymous said...

We don’t need or want a 1960’s kind of governor.

What is it that he has done or failed to do that qualifies him to be a RINO, or that he has screwed up?

Good.

Everyone that is running on the Republican side is absolutely awful. I say this as a Republican.

Gunn is absolutely terrible. He changed the state flag in a back room deal, against most of his constituents wishes. And, against a ballot measure that was firmly opposed to change.

Gunn is the worst or the worst. A common dullard.

Our organization hosted an event at the capital years ago when he was the speaker. Before meeting him, I had a high opinion. The event was starting, people getting in place, Gunn came in, smiled, shook hands with everyone. I needed to get him in place. Unfortunately, nobody told him he was actually going to have to acknowledge and listen to a female. When he finally looked down at me, I could have rung his neck.

So, no, I would never vote for this person because of that experience.

So he hasn’t announced it yet but is planning to do it next week? Shows gubmint logic….😂

No one in Mississippi politics is more trustworthy.

Anonymous said...

He’s a RINO!

Anonymous said...

Of there is or has been a Mississippi politician who is more arrogant than this guy, please point him out. I'll wait.

We used to say, "Savus from Mabus", and now it's, "If he's gonna run, please save us from Gunn!"

Anonymous said...

Let's start with the state flag debacle. Whether you supported the removal of the flag, or not, he and RINO Delbert (and Tater) took a chicken-shit way out and lied about 'the will of the people'. Gunn, in three words, Can't be Trusted.

PUKE

So Phil is gunning for governor.

Anonymous said...

What is terrible about a Republican (the party of Lincoln) seizing the opportunity to get rid of a flag that was put in place by treasonous Democrats only after their Reconstruction era chaperones (you probably call them Carpetbaggers) left the State?

Anonymous said...

Gunn, Gunn you say? Is it one of those insult rifles?

Anonymous said...

Too many are running for Governor.

Anonymous said...

If elected will there be a separation of Church and State?

Anonymous said...

AWFUL loser RINO. Awful awful awful. Gosh there is no worse decision than voting for this guy. What a spineless RINO. If we want 8 more years of the same in Mississippi we will sure as hell get it with Gunn. PLEASE vote Duff.

Anonymous said...

Let's hope the sun has set on his political career. Im still pissed how he handled the flag change. Did it need to be changed? Probably so, but not the way Gunn did it. Will not get my vote.

Anonymous said...

he is a man of integrity - I know that

Anonymous said...

The Republican primary will be funny & entertaining no matter how many of the usual suspects join this WWE "cage match".

Anonymous said...

Anyone using the term RINO is the actual RINO. I’m a republican but because I haven’t joined the frothing-at-the-mouth MAGA cult they would say I’m a RINO. In reality, they’re the ones who have moved away from the Republican Party.

I’ve been waiting for this to come out. Gunn is the best of the bunch in my opinion. I’ve dealt with him personally, and I consider him a stand up guy. I can’t believe people are still mad about the flag issue. It was time for a change. Just let it go.

Meet ur next governor. I could not figure out who Mississippi was going to make their next governor. No need to vote in that race. Republicans are large and in charge and they predetermine for u. I have dubs that this is their man. I wish we could turn it into sports betting so we could at least participate and benefit.

Anonymous said...

I remember the flag. I'll never vote for Gunn; not even for dog catcher!!!!

Anonymous said...

Now THAT's a VERY low bar indeed.....

Anonymous said...

Neither Dunn nor Guff will make any damn difference. Place holders.

Anonymous said...

Speaker Gunn, thank you and other legislative leaders for having the balls to do what absolutely had to be done to fix the stupid-ass non-sense started by segregationists and justified as history. Sometimes boldness to do the only thing possible to course correct for the betterment of everyone requires sacrifice. You and others did that.

Rhinos are cool animals with a BIG horny face. I like Rhinos and you should too. I will vote for my favorite Rhino 🦏

Anonymous said...

Better than the guy in the cowboy hat

Anonymous said...

That he was in favor of women being forced to carry a rapist's fetus and not even allowing prevention immediately after the rape, is why I will never vote for him. I don't vote for men who are that ignorant about biology and think a single tadpole larve that isn't even a tadpole yet is a frog. He should at least be consistent and require a miscarried fetus to have a funeral and burial rites.

Anonymous said...

No where is that concept codified in our Constitution.

Anonymous said...

Phil, thanks for checking in.

Blue or red, left or right, RINO or yellow-dog, I just do not give a shit anymore, because no substantive change comes from either side. Instead I‘ll vote third party or, if no third party candidate entered the race, I’ll not mark my ballot for that contest.

Oh, I know, I know, before you even say it, I’m just throwing away my vote on someone who has no chance of winning. My response is if you vote for the ultimate winner because he had the best chance of winning while I voted for the candidate with no chance, what did you win that I did not win? Answer: nothing. Well, except maybe some smug satisfaction in reminding me that you picked the winner.

But a vote isn’t a wager; there’s no payoff for picking the winner between one of two repugnant sycophants. If enough vote your conscience, we’ll scare the shit out of the OG pigs who are jaws deep in the good ol’ boy slop trough of politics.

Lots of posts here blaiming Gunn for the flag. Yall got such short memoreis...Dontcha yall remember Bennie Thompson being asked after we voted on keeping the old flag "If We Would Ever Vote The Flag Away?"...Mr Thompson replied "Oh No. You'll Never Vote The Flag Away...You'll Have To Legislate The Flag Away". Now, and yall don't remember Mr Benny bringing all the ball coaches to the state house & busting up in there telling our esteemed representatives "If Yall Don't Change This Flag, None Of Our Schools Are Coming To Mississippi To Play Ball, And No School From Mississippi is Coming To Our State To Play Ball"...So that flag was changed over ball playing...Don't never forget that...

I am going to wait and see the candidates platform and past achievements. Its not a beauty contest. I was not a Tate fan but I cannot deny he has been a very good governor. Hope the next one will be as well.

Anonymous said...

Regardless of your (or my) opinion regarding the previous and current state flags...his approach to taking one down and raising another is just ONE example of his approach to governing...and his mentality.

Couple that with the fact that he is the most arrogant politician this state has endured since Theodore Bilbo.

11:33pm -I agree 100% with what you said These guys that call every moderate republican a RINO are Political Morons (P.M.). The Democrats would win every election if these so called RINOs didn't support the party. @4.03 --Staying at home and not voting would be a good thing for you to do. I'm sure your vote would not be a smart one.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and one more thing. I'm sure the schoolteachers and county elected officials will remember how he unseated the duly elected Tax Collector and the schoolteacher from their seats in the House. That's two groups I wouldn't want to piss off!

Anonymous said...

3 Cheers for the Virtue Signal Club, still preaching the evils of The Confederacy. It's not that the flag was changed. It's not whether it should have been considered or not. It's the way it was done. A secret conspiracy of a weak-kneed triumvirate. Gunn, Tater and Dogbert.

I read that it was decided by a vote of the people. That's a damnable lie. The secret triumvirate formed a secret committee who narrowed the possibilities down to several options. The fix was in. The voters' only vote was which was the lesser evil.

Gunn was the architect, Delbrat agreed and Tater giggled.

"And No School From Mississippi is Coming To Our State To Play Ball."

I knew Bennie fell out of a box of rocks, but, dayum...he that stoopid?

Anonymous said...

@12:16 has it right -- they brought in all these football folks and politicians together to justify changing the flag for the greater good-- and a lot of folks bought that smoke-and-mirror show. Now we are left with a flag that does not represent the people, and one that you never see other than in a public display setting. Gunn was the architect -- and now -- he thinks his been away long enough for people to forget. We haven't. Andy Gipson for Mississippi!

Anonymous said...

Thank you, 9:29! That's probably the single most important thing to remember about him.

The NutCuttin' said...

Which of the announced candidates wants the job and not the position?

Anonymous said...

Say what you want about Gunn but he has a big brass set and is a man on conviction! He didn’t just start wearing a cowboy hat or start swinging off Trumps nuts like some others !
God forbid we ever have another Katrina , but if we did who would you want on camera representing us ?

Anonymous said...

Not Gunn. Duff maybe given his connections to the coastal area. None of them are ideal.

It's Delbert or Gunn for this TRUE Republican!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
