Ridgeland Officer Needs Blood

Ridgeland Police officer Ryan Stacy continues to recover from an automobile accident Sunday.

Corporal Stacy underwent surgery today for his ankle and arm. Chief Bryan Myers said he was more "talkative today" but he has a long road to recovery.

The Ridgeland Police Department provided more information on social media:

We continue to be overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for Cpl. Ryan Stacy and his family. Your prayers, messages, and willingness to help truly mean more than we can express.
At this time, the official donation link is still being set up as we complete the necessary verification process with the 1828 Project of Madison County. We ask for your patience as we ensure everything is secure and properly in place.
⚠️ Please remember: This will be the ONLY family verified donation. We ask that you do not fall for scams or other GoFundMe pages. All official updates will come directly from the Ridgeland Police Department.
💳 In the meantime:
Gift cards for immediate expenses may be dropped off at the Ridgeland Police Department lobby.
🩸 Another way you can help:
You can donate blood on May 6 at the Ridgeland Police Department, or anytime at MS Blood Services using code ES24 for Ryan Stacy.
Thank you for standing with one of our own during this difficult time.

It’s really sad that we live in a third world ass state in the third world country where people have to beg for money if they are injured on the job!

MS is in the dark ages. I am a disabled retired LEO from another state - three different on-the-job incidents. Each time I was allowed up to one year off, at full pay, tax free (state & federal), with all benefits remaining in place. This wasn't "sick time," but disability time off. I only used the max of one year just before I retired on disability (tax free) at 50% of my highest year. My medical/dental/vision insurance is paid for life.

@6:41 - The policies of your 'other state' don't have jack to do with those of Mississippi.

The request here is for blood, not money, you jackasses. Comp does not provide blood.

It's both, jackwagon, once the site is finalized.

We understand 6:41. But your free rider lavish life is paid for by the unfortunate taxpayers of the state you fled in order to come take advantage of Mississippi’s affordable and low tax environment. We know that certain states pay 6 figure salaries to cops. But we also know that a fatal 1050 will have traffic jammed for 12 hours as they rack up OT in order to max out the last year to inflate pensions. And we know how even rich guys like Ray Kelly both magically work 24 hours a day their last year and then drop a disabled packet the last week on the job to claim back pain or nonspecific and previously unreported heart conditions to get tax free pensions. After often being weekend warriors to get a Guard pension too. Great for you. Terrible for your taxpayer. Maybe you should go back to that state and enjoy the state and local taxes there? Or the new cost of living there? Instead of trashing us while reaping rewards of the LEO disability schtick. It’s unsustainable yet we have to house you after you cash in and cash out with housing your kids and grandkids can’t afford. Unless they get in on the “public servant” gravy train there maybe? We LEOs here work hard and get modest salaries at best. You are totally tone deaf with self serving brags here. Carpetbaggers and Californicator types go home.

I provided an example of what Mississippi should provide their LEOs, vs. staying last in everything, which is what you must prefer.

@7:33 AM Your attitude is what keeps you and Mississippi last. I would like to see MS LEOs receive the same benefits as they deserve and earned them, but keep your head in the sand.

I am an LEO supporter, but 7:33 speaks the truth.

Anonymous said...

7:33, I can understand the frustration of it. However, he is just taken advantage of the system that state put in place. You should direct the anger at the people that implemented that policy. Or, you can be a LEO in that state and do the same thing he did. I agree with you on the points you made. But, I can also see his side in doing all that because that is what that state allows.

What blood type is needed? O+, O-, AB or what?

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter because it is a blood "bank." You can deposit lira, pounds, whatever. Your blood doesn't go into the patients arm.

In the advertisement, his badge says Policia. Is that a real Ridgeland PD badge?

Hits a massive tree laying across both lanes, in broad daylight.

This whole thing seems odd. Do Ridgeland PD take their vehicles home? If not, he’s over 20 miles out of jurisdiction. Strange!

Quite possibly distracted driving.

Anonymous said...

1. He was off duty. 2. It was about 6am during a massive thunderstorm so likely low visibility. 3. Yes he was allowed to take his vehicle home.

He was off duty.

On Thursday I provided a vehicle protection zone and then pushed a stranded motorist out of a busy intersection. A deputy stopped to help protect the scene...and then a city cop stopped and further assisted us getting the car to a nearby parking lot.

People helping people. 2 white guys...2 black guys. It was AWESOME. No one shot. No one bitching. Just helping our fellow man.

That said...personally grateful to not have been attacked by any trees and aware enough to see a fellow man in need of assistance (and no trees between us).

"Comp does not provide blood."

And you know that, how. I've worked with comp for decades and am not sure whether comp is obligated, in Mississippi, to pay the bill for blood transfusions. If it's a life saving necessity, by guess is YES.

I do know for a fact that comp is obligated to pay for meds for the duration and can be lifetime depending on the outcome of an on job injury. There are exclusions but I'm not sure if blood is one of them.

The keys are: Was he on duty and is blood excluded.

He lives near Canton. He was on his way to work. Happy? He will recover but the recovery will be a long one.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
