Don’t believe the AG ‘s office ever tries cases. They must have pled guilty
Even a blind squirrel occasionally finds an acorn.
One year for theft. Meanwhile that guy in Texas with the custom car shop got 60 years for defrauding his customers.
These two are secondary characters in a crime series novel; reappearing and goofy. Does anybody believe that they won't be back again?
They will steal again to pay the restitution. Rob from Peter to pay Paul.
Why sentence to ten but only have to do one? Why not just tell the truth by sentencing them to one? Is this something the legal system does to puff itself up, telling us, “Oh, you get ten years, you’re going away for a long time,” knowing full well they’re shoveling the same old government bullshit? Being bureaucrats, I’m certain they must have a reason that makes imminent sense — to themselves.
The suspension of part of the sentence is leverage to force repayment. Your sentence is 10 years, you have to serve 1 year. 9 years are suspended and you must repay $$$ or you can go serve the other 9 years. After serving 1 year you decide how much the next 9 years of your life are worth. Go to prison for 9 years or repay $$$$
AG Fitch only prosecutes those who can't assist her with her political ambitions. These two should have contributed more to her last campaign.
