What does judgement mean? "It doesn't mean if you see somebody reeling down the street with a half-pint whiskey bottle half empty in his hands and he smells of alcohol and he can't stand up straight, it's all right to say that man's a drunk. That's not what this (don't judge) means. Judgement means a personal condemnation is judge someone, to personally condemn them as though you know their motives... We're not to do it," preached the late Dr. Frank Pollard in 1997. Reading from Matthew, he said we will be judged by the same standard as we judge others. Enjoy the rest of his sermon on what judgement means that is posted below.
Scripture: Matthew 5: 7, 7:1-5
(NIV) (5) Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
(7) “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
