Oh great. Our Governor Buffoon has done it again. Ole Miss fans are going to enjoy this one.
One might think Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry might shut up after he meddled in LSU sports this week. However, the USL homer doubled down and went on the Pat McAfee Show yesterday. You can't make this up.
Oh, did I mention Landry ran off the Athletic Director this week?

However, Landry wasn't done as he went on a Baton Rouge sports talk show yesterday afternoon.  You can't make this up.
Yeah, Landry shenanigans are going to make a good coach want to come to LSU.  I always considered Jeff Landry to be a right-wing Jim Hood when he was Attorney General as he shared the same penchant for grandstanding and was just as dumb, a woeful combination.
Much has been made about LSU going after Lane Kiffin. However,  I see the Lane Train remaining parked in Oxford.  He really likes it up there.  His son is starting qb for the high school, his kids love going to school up there, and he moved his ex-wife to Oxford.   That's called roots.  The alumni and politicians don't meddle.  He gets what he wants for NIL.  He is going to have Ole Miss in the playoffs this year, showing Ole Miss can compete at that level.  Not to mention NIL and the portal made it much easier for a school such as Ole Miss to play with the big boys.
Kiffin is not leaving and when he does, it won't be for a place where the Governor thinks Tiger Stadium is his personal sandbox.

Scott Stricklin will be sending a Christmas card to Jeff Landry when he signs Kiffin.
Not happening. Constant turnover, meddling boosters, it's not the job it was ten years ago.
A lot of LSU boosters loved Woodward and they were the ones pushing him to swing for the fences with Kelly. Landry might become a self fulfilling prophet in that the big boosters that Woodward had lined up to pay for Kelly's departure might say screw it. Oh, and let's talk about Landry's pick for president that will be announced next week.
He’s a typical MAGA politician. Loves to hear himself speak, but we all get dumber when we listen.
Moving your ex-wife to the place where your kids enjoy going to school could also be planning for an exit.

Ever consider hiring a writer?
@9:40 — and he barely speaks English.
Ever consider hiring a writer?
@10:03, what is your point?
Louisiana politics. There's nothing like it! You can't deny it's entertaining though.
Kiffin will be in the playoffs this year, but once they play a real team like Texas A&M or Ohio, reality will once again set in. They've played two good teams, and they lost to one of them, and don't forget they almost lost to WSU at home. Kiffin will stay right where he is because he can win 9 or 10 games and be a hero.
Every team takes an off day during the season and that is what WSU game was. The difference this year is Ole Miss won when it didn't play well v. last year when it lost three games when it took the day off.
When LSU canned Kelly, I thought that would be the better job out of them and the Florida opening. Landry just made Florida the better job. Who in their right mind would come to LSU with this sh!tshow going on? No coach, or their agent, is going to let them step into this after the comments he's made. Not that he's not wrong, and Woodward is an idiot for the Fisher and Kelly buyouts, but this is going to take a while to correct and get him out of meddling in the program. My take is Kiffin is a hot commodity. Sexton will use both of these to leverage more money out of Ole Miss, but he is staying put. Next year will be the move for him if Texas fires Sark or some other high profile job opens up. Hell, he may be happy and if I were him, I'd stay in Oxford. You don't have near the pressure, you can win 7-9 with a few great season sprinkled in and retire a happy, wealthy man and they will erect a statue of you. But college football coaches typically aren't wired like that.
Anyway, off topic rant. Landry is still an idiot. He's hurt LSU's coaching search more than helped.
Going down to the wire with Georgia is nothing to be ashamed of
KF you still can't deny that Ole Miss has one of the easiest roads to the playoffs considering their strength of schedule. After their only two tough games, they get to breeze past SC, Citadel, FL, and MSU.
Landry is a Trump ass-kissing acolyte if I ever saw one. Says the same stupid type of shit but with a heavy cajun accent.
@10:59 Look at all that hate and jealousy. We love to see it. There's been nothing but a party in Oxford so far this year. Sorry you weren't invited.
Does a man that says he needs Old Miss more than Old Miss needs him, sound as if he's leaving?
That party might get interrupted on November 28. I've seen stranger things happen. Lol
Landry is a caricature, but he's not wrong about agents' conflicts of interest and what looks a lot like bid-rigging, price-fixing, and market manipulation in the hiring of college football coaches.
I don't disagree with with the substance of anything he said. And I'm curious about the relationships between Scott Woodard and the coaches' agents.
That said, the debacle at LSU actually makes the IHL look good.
Kiffin has no pressure at Ole Miss. Why would he ever leave?
They played 1 good team. OU is a paper tiger that has one zero good games and has struggled in some of those.
As sad as it pains me, Kiffin loves Oxford and has found a home at Ole Miss. he loves the attention, though.
@11:25 -
Out of the Clay Higgins mold.
Apparently Kim Mulkey isn't too happy about the AD getting the boot(pun intended)...Stay tuned. Landry may wreck the entire LSU athletic department and end up off a bridge in Bayou Sauvage if the coonasses get pissed at him.
