On October 20, 2025, at approximately 10:58 p.m., Clinton Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at 907 Cedar Hills Drive in Clinton. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jasmine Singleton (45) deceased on the kitchen floor with multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and observed a gold Chevrolet Tahoe fleeing the scene. Surveillance footage confirmed these accounts. The vehicle was found to be registered to Carlton D. Mack (Black male, 42) — the victim’s ex-boyfriend — who has multiple prior domestic violence arrests.
The suspect vehicle was later located abandoned in Jackson, Mississippi, and recovered by CPD.
Clinton Police are actively seeking Carlton Mack for questioning in connection with this homicide. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Clinton Police Department at 601-924-5252 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).

Clinton is doomed.
A few years ago, Clinton began getting more and more "diverse", as families in Jtown fled their horrible schools. The crime there has gone up since then, noticably. Same song, second verse. Set your clock by it.
Grew up in Clinton. Graduated high school there in 97… the school and the entire area of Clinton has really changed. Sad to see it this way
Mr. Mack needs to handle this himself using the same gun.
Clinton’s decline became seriously noticeable around 2008 when those cheap MC student apartments started filling up with people who probably never made it past junior high school.
Clinton schools were once a great place to recieve an education. Now it’s gone! That’s a real shame and it will be unable to recover
Those suspended sentences are killing us-
Every community in the Jackson metro looks different than it did way back in 1997. Where do you think those tens of thousands of Jackson residents went? Meanwhile, Clinton schools are still performing quite well.
Sure killed this poor woman...
All the Madison and Rankin realtors love this site. Clearly they post on it.
I have lived in Clinton for 18 years. It’s a great community. I love its diversity, which is why the naysayers here hate it. Crime is not a problem compared to any other city of its size. And those who say Clinton schools are failing. The latest rankings prove you wrong. Fourth highest performing district in the state.
Carlton Mack: "If I can't have you nobody can have you."
Do the courts in Mississippi have any interest whatsoever in protecting us from these repeat rabid dogs? Ag Assault is a pretty serious charge to only do five years (less than that counting good time and other breaks violent convicts get).
MS needs to change laws like Florida with Life meaning life & NO PAROLE. Crimes involving 15 yo should be changed to adult as parole is no help to society. Judge Jeanine Pirro talked about how long rap sheets were for these young thugs. Sometimes the judges cannot sentence them due to the laws. This must be addressed !!!
The Clinton comments are funny. Have yall been to a Ridgeland High football game? Brandon? Pearl? NW Rankin? Madison Central? This isn't 1970 guys.
