JPD issued the following statement.
On August 2, 2025, at approximately 7:02 pm, the Jackson Police Department received a call regarding a shootout in the 4500 block of Redwood Drive. It was reported that multiple vehicles had been shot into and that multiple suspects were involved. JPD learned that the shooting started in the 4500 block of Redwood Drive between two groups of subjects who were apparently at odds with each other. Both groups were allegedly traveling to a private party taking place at a residence on Sundew Place. The shooting resulted in multiple homes and vehicles being shot into. JPD detectives recovered multiple shell casings during the processing of the crime scene by the Mobile Crime Unit. Four suspects were arrested in the 100 block of Sundew Place. A fifth suspect who was shot during the incident was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. More arrests are expected and additional charges are forth coming. Arrested were: * Deshawn Antonio Gross 3/29/2004 (21) – Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling* Desmond Hudson 8/28/2002 (22) – Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling
* Jamorris Lewis 3/2/2004 (21) Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling and Convicted Felon/Firearm
* Octavius Robinson 4/18/2007 (18) Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling
* Rushoderic Williams 2/7/2006 (19) Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling

They are bullet casings, not "shell casings," unless a shotgun was involved. I guess there is no longer a "perception" of crime, now it's real crime? Right?
Do I see a pattern here?
The immediate concern for Jacksonians is whether or not the court system will run out of ankle bracelets for all the ‘released’ criminals running around Jackson?

Rushoderic Kid was doomed as soon as that name was typed onto the birth certificate. Probably with no father info on it because immaculate conception is commonplace where he comes from.
