Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Jackson Police Department with the execution of a search warrant at xxxxx Cleary Rd, Florence, MS. Prior to the search warrant operation, the sheriff’s office was informed that multiple air conditioning units had been stolen from an address in Jackson. Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the units were located at the address on Cleary Rd. When law enforcement officers arrived on scene they located numerous AC units that appeared to have been stolen including the units associated with the address in Jackson.
During the execution of the search warrant, Jerry Allen Rawson was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property and transported to the Rankin County Detention Center. His bond has currently been set at $25,000. This is on-going investigation, so Rawson is likely to face additional charges in both Rankin and Hinds County.

I went to a small business in Fondren a few years ago and they apologized their A/C wasn’t working because all of the copper had been cut out and stolen. The owner said the worse part, however, was the responding JPD officer who remarked, “Everybody gotta make a living somehow”.

Some body bought this stuff from him. There is no way that the purchaser should not be prosecuted as a co conspirator.

Someone steals your outside unit, you call a HVAC company- like Jerry Rawson HVAC LLC (located at 2225 Cleary Road Florence, MS 39073- according to the Secretary of State) and ask them for help.
Jerry probably says something like-
Yeah we got some used units in stock, we can fix you right up.
He better hope none of his fellow cellies have a mama whose a/c got stolen recently...
