The Madison Police Department issued the following statement.
On January 30, 2025 at approximately 1:20am the Madison Police Department received a call regarding a female who had been sexually assaulted at Fernando's Restaurant located at 121 Colony Crossing Way in the city limits of Madison, MS.
Investigators with the Madison Police Department began investigating the sexual assault which led to the arrest of Jose Rigoberta Meija-Cubias, age 37, of El Salvador. This individual was located at Fernando’s Restaurant where he was taken into custody while a search warrant was being conducted at the establishment.
During the course of the search warrant, Investigators came into contact with several suspected illegal aliens that were employed at the restaurant. U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) responded to the scene and took a total of seven illegal aliens into custody.
Meija-Cubias is currently being charged with Sexual Battery of a Physically Helpless Person and Tampering with Evidence. Jose Rigoberta Meija-Cubias will be housed at the Madison County Detention Center as he awaits his initial appearance in the City of Madison Municipal Court. Meija-Cubias case will then be presented to the Madison County Grand Jury before District Attorney John 'Bubba' Bramlett.
ICE has placed a detainer on Meija-Cubias as he was previously deported from the United States in 2010.
Due to the nature of the case and its victim, there will be no other information released at this time.
Kingfish note: Meija-Cubas was an employee of the restaurant.

"Sexual Battery of a Physically Helpless Person", as in rape of a nursing home patient? Or is it the rape of someone who's been rendered temporarily helpless?
No more Biden protection for you !
Headed to Gitmo.
Madison, Ridgeland, Morton, Forest, Canton, etc etc have all been de facto Sanctuary Cities forever. Truth. Only Madison practices disparate impact housing to keep them sleeping in Ridgeland and Canton.
Our chicken plant millionaires and Farmer Millionaires (with Billions in Farm Welfare given to them) have done this forever. And the Catholic Charities have made millions in government money to help this invasion.
Bennie and Roger and Cindy are joined at the hips in delight over our "guests" like this.
"They shore work hard and don't dare complain!!! Woo Hoo-more money fer me!!!"
Hey 6:00. Might want to back off the Red Bulls after lunch
Isn't it obvious that these illegals are living in the restaurant? (Housing provided = less pay). These are people who are handling your food with unknown communicable disease/s?
I hope that this news shuts them down.
Any penalties for the employer?
" Only Madison practices disparate impact housing......"
Uh, IIRC only Madison insists that all dwellings in their city be owner-occupied. Not too many scum are interested in treating their own daughters the way this victim was(allegedly) treated.
@6:13, you beat me to the punch because I was going to ask them to put the crack pipe down….and the mushrooms and the “suped up” pot that’s on the market… That smells like a dead skunks ass that ate Mexican food
One down, 50,000 - 100,000 more illegals in Mississippi left to deport!
This is language often used if a person was drugged or otherwise knocked unconscious.
We cannot arrest the people who hire illegals because they finance our elected officials campaigns! Do the powers to be really want these mass deportations. Naw it’s just to make the average uneducated citizens feel, safe, warm and fuzzy.
@7:27 PM - That would be incorrect. Madison does in fact allow rental homes. It is up to a subdivisions CCRs to prohibit rentals.
Madison does allow one to rent their house. Must be inspected by the city.
Oh my!! Madison's continues to move toward Jackson.
@7:27 rental houses are allowed in Madison. However, they do have a fairly strong rental ordinance. The landlord must have a bond, the house is inspected by the city regularly, etc. I currently am living in a rental in the city of Madison while I build a new home in the city limits.
No longer will I go to Fernando’s Pearl either!
Deport all illegals, and do it now. Then start on the legal ones.
Will Fernando’s be held accountable for hiring employees who are unqualified to work in the US?
This problem won’t stop until employers are held accountable (I’m looking at you, Sanderson Farms, Tyson, etc.).
"One down, 50,000 - 100,000 more illegals in Mississippi left to deport! "
Get busy! We only have 4 years! That's about 50 a day!
Well, I'm going to miss authentic cuisine. Taco Bell just is just awful. And, I'll miss eggs and chicken once the raids go there or will they? I seem to recall the owners may have good relationships with the BIG DOGS in the GOP. And, Lord knows more than a few deep pocket republicans have hired those from South of the Border to work their properties and be on their construction crews and in their homes. I don't think they'll love Trump and I think he may have hired illegals. There were a few at Mar a Lago with Latino names...maybe they were those illegal Cubans. Are we going after them too?
Owner's spouse quickly on TV news claiming they were provided with falsified documents before employment.
E-verify.gov does not depend on someone's "documents". Restaurant should run every potential (and probably existing) employee thru e-verify, as should every employer in this country. We'll catch the illegal Indians, Chinese, French, Africans, etc. along with Hispanics. You gotta wonder WHY employers don't do that as standard operating procedure.
@9:15 Not so fast. JD Vance hasn’t disappointed yet. That’s another 8 years. Possibly a JD Vance and Eric/Don Jr ticket.
that is why it is our civic duty to hold them responsible to do their jobs to protect our borders, language, and culture every election year.
The 'old school' system of hiring teens to work in restaurants was more practical than hiring illegal invaders who send half their income to Latin America. Additionally, teens learned to be financially responsible. I started working at 14: bicycle paper boy, golf caddy, landscape labor, ranch hand, construction.
9:31am:
Learn to cook your own. Save on dining out, equip a gourmet kitchen instead. I want all illegals gone Ahora!
what authentic cuisine? very few whites will eat Authentic Mexican cuisine. Just like very few whites will eat Authentic Chinese cuisine. That Tex-Mex and San Francisco Chinatown cuisine you enjoy is 100% doneatic.
Let's be clear about one thing that someone or several someones constantly posts on. Mississippi IS and HAS BEEN an E Verify state. The VERIFIER of those documents has to look at them and swear they are good. And many many Mississippi verifiers know those are Fake Documents. They no longer even have to keep a copy of them. So, as much as it's a good idea, there is no teeth to it nor are there mechanisms to run those documents' numbers to see if they are being used over and over and over, at the same time, in many different places. By Dem and RINO GOP design. Wink wink. Nod nod.
"They shore work cheap!!!"
Farmers, chicken plant rich guys, construction companies, roofers especially. All pretending to be conservative and that their fat white guys on the TV ads are the workers. Liars. Cheats. Charging insurance companies the max and paying low ball wages to illegals for roofs. And constantly advertising lies about family businesses and 'Murican values.
Twitter has this now. We've hit the big time!

Both the wife and I got food poisoning there one night. Will be a long time, if ever, before I feel fuzzy warm about Fernando's. I'd hate to do that to our toilet ever again. The hair on my arms still stands up whenever we drive past the place.
Guest worker permits worked pretty well until the unions got mad about them
“ the “suped up” pot that’s on the market… That smells like a dead skunks ass that ate Mexican food”, there is a warrior poet amongst us.
Stopped dining there a few years ago.. Just seemed odd- several things were odd. I hate this for those who are genuinely there for good employment. The owners seemed transparent in an TV interview. She said all papers for hiring were provided - now finds out fake. Glad to hear the illegals are out of here! Next...
"The owners seemed transparent in an TV interview. She said all papers for hiring were provided - now finds out fake." 2:00, ever been accused of being gullible?
Shakespearean! lol
".....genuinely here for employment."
What?! Do you think America is some kind of economic opportunity zone for the world!? Sheesh, we have plenty of Americans who need employment. Immigrants used to be grateful for the opportunity to be here - now they send over 63 BILLION in remittances back to Mexico alone.
I can tell by reading these post, some of you folks would be a blast to hang out with.
@10:15 - Wrong! The person signing the I-9 does not swear that any document 'is good'. He only certifies that he reviewed the document(s). He has no responsibility for verifying authenticity of documents.
Fake documents are peddled on many street corners and are readily available for a small fee. Certification that the document is legit is not the responsibility of the employer's representative.
"Can you hear the drums, Fernando?
Do you still recall the fateful night we crossed the Rio Grande?
I can see it in your eyes
How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land
There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando"
Since ABBA recorded that silly thing, it can be assumed that Swedes have wised-up (although they aren't allowed to say, since they don't have Freedom of Speech).
