Apparently the 23 year-old Mayor of Bogalusa loves to part-ay. The Louisiana State Police issued the following statement.
In April 2024, the Louisiana State Police Narcotics/Violent Crime Task Force (NVCTF) initiated a comprehensive investigation into a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating in the Bogalusa area. This joint operation, conducted over several months in collaboration with the 22nd Judicial District Court District Attorney’s Office, the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office, and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) revealed the DTO’s involvement in the distribution of various Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS), including opioids, high-grade marijuana, THC products, and MDMA.
Investigators uncovered that members of the DTO were utilizing social media platforms to distribute CDS and manage payments, further expanding their reach and criminal activity. The investigation also determined that profits from drug sales were used to purchase firearms. Some of these firearms were funneled to individuals prohibited from legal possession, while others were linked to violent crimes in the Bogalusa area.
As a result of the evidence collected, multiple search warrants and arrest warrants have been issued for the below DTO members:
• 25-year-old Tyrin Truong of Bogalusa, Mayor of Bogalusa
o L.R.S. 40:1041: Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
o L.R.S. 14:68: Unauthorized Use of a Moveable
o L.R.S. 14:83: Soliciting for Prostitutes

Unauthorized Use of a Moveable. That's some LEO speak right there.
This culture is destroying America. I recently binge watched a bunch of pre-Hayes code “swing” era movies from the late 20s and early 30s. Movies about speakeasy’s and cocaine pushers. These movies could very well have been Jackson from 2024 if the current style was still to dress like a 1930s pimp and drive a 1930s Cadillac with whitewalls. Same behaviors. Same culture.
They've been moving drugs in and out of that Pearl River Swamp down there for years. A long time ago, the pushers used the disguise of hunting camps and had planes flying it in and out on grass runways. It was close enough to the MS Gulf Coast and New Orleans but backwoods enough to remain undetected. I've seen some shady shit go down around that area when I was a kid.
What the heck is a "moveable?" I searched the web and read the applicable La statute, but couldn't find an example.
You have to take into consideration that we are talking about Louisiana. Basically the same as Madison.

TO 11:59,
MOV-A-BLE (noun) property or possessions not including land or buildings.
______________________________________________________
§68. Unauthorized use of a movable
A. Unauthorized use of a movable is the intentional taking or use of a movable which belongs to another, either without the other's consent, or by means of fraudulent conduct, practices, or representations, but without any intention to deprive the other of the movable permanently. The fact that the movable so taken or used may be classified as an immovable, according to the law pertaining to civil matters, is immaterial.
B. Whoever commits the crime of unauthorized use of a movable having a value of five hundred dollars or less shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars, imprisoned for not more than six months, or both. Whoever commits the crime of unauthorized use of a movable having a value in excess of five hundred dollars shall be fined not more than five thousand dollars, imprisoned with or without hard labor for not more than five years, or both.
Amended by Acts 1980, No. 692, §1; Acts 1980, No. 708, §1; Acts 1981, No. 293, §1; Acts 1993, No. 419, §1; Acts 2010, No. 396, §1.
Let me translate. If Bobby Boucheaux “borrows” a fancy riding lawnmower from Vickie Valencourt without permission, that is unauthorized use of a moveable property. Even if he intended to or does return it. As opposed to theft.
Time for Smokey & the Bandit III
I think Tyrin just passed the audition to be the next mayor of Jackson.
