State Auditor to Discuss Book at MCPP Luncheon

The Mississippi Center for Public Policy issued the following press release.

Why You Should Attend:

  1. Discover "The Mississippi Swindle": Shad White will share insights from his new book, uncovering shocking stories of financial mismanagement and corruption in Mississippi. This is a must-read for anyone passionate about transparency and accountability in our state.

  2. Addressing K-12 Administrative Waste: Our education system is plagued with inefficiencies. Shad will break down where the waste is happening and how we can redirect those resources to benefit our students and teachers directly.

  3. The Role of DEI in Public Universities: Dive into a critical analysis of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs in our public universities. How are these initiatives affecting academic standards and campus culture?

This event isn’t just about listening—it’s about engaging in meaningful dialogue and finding solutions. Whether you're a concerned parent, an educator, or simply someone who cares about the future of Mississippi, your voice matters.

RSVP here to reserve your spot and join us for this important conversation.

This post was sponsored by the Mississippi Center for Public Policy.

Unless he was moonlighting, any time spent on writing this book was a misuse of taxpayer funds. By the powers vested in me through this platform, I am issuing a demand letter for $37.22 plus interest for all of the time spent on this book. All kidding aside, I hope he got a good ghostwriter for this one.

No thanks.

I don't understand why Shad would do this book about an on-going, still prosecuting case. It looks really bad and I'm a Shad supporter. (Especially against no-show Lynn.) Is he at least donating proceeds to some welfare-related charity?

Don’t really care either way, but someone please explain to me how a sitting Auditor can release a book about an ongoing case and not taint the jury pool, prejudice the case, etc. The timing really seems odd.

Shad will likely leverage all of this experience for much bigger and better things outside ms.gov. You get nothing but grief and willfully ignorant criticism from the uneducated rednecks and hayseeds in Mississippi. Like Dr. Ogeron of ITS and Dr. Dobson of MDHS, there are greener, more lucrative pastures everywhere. No reason to put up with the petty bullshit here.

I feel like Shad has some good stock to become a household name, no offense to Shadrack from the Old Testament...but I don't think the Brett Favre case is anything to relish in to this degree. The touchdown celebration can sometimes undo the victory of the touchdown itself...

I don't like Fiction.

Because Shad cannot get out of his own way, that's why. He is a narcissist, and he simply cannot stand it if he is not in the news.

Currently #73,977 on Amazon. Is it a coffee table book? Can we ask Dickie?

Shad is an interesting style/person. Will follow closely.

@1:16 - please do tell us all about Shad’s experience, including his time before Phil appointed him Auditor.

Books about public corruption in Mississippi are not totally without precedent. If that sort of thing interests you, check out Hands In The Till by James Crockett.

I think Shad does a good job. I think the DHS scandal is horrible and everyone involved is a POS. But this is arrogant, self promoting, and not a very good look at all.

Mississippi taxpayers fund an expensive and totally unnecessary and divisive DEI program at Ole Miss. Why?
What is wrong with advancement through merit and competence? Why are there separate standards for some? Why should there be a taxpayers' program to advance and promote students based upon a person's appearance or ethnicity?

Hasn't the US Supreme Court ruled this is illegal?

I hope Shad's book speaks to these issues.

"...ignorant criticism from the uneducated rednecks and hayseeds in Mississippi. Like Dr. Ogeron of ITS and Dr. Dobson of MDHS"

Who? But you refer to medical doctors as uneducated rednecks and hayseeds? You're a real piece of work, for sure.

Wow! That is some deep philosophy (perhaps learned by watching ESPN).

"The touchdown celebration can sometimes undo the victory of the touchdown itself... "

Especially if the guy doing the celebrating didn't make the touchdown AND no one else has either. At least not yet, and even if the Feds make one, ol' Shad will still have been up in the stands watching rather than on the field doing.

Reminds me of an old joke: I am wearing a Yale club tie because I became a member of that club when I went to Yale...you are wearing an Ole Miss/Alabama tanktop because Walmart sells them.

37 bucks and change, all for the pleasure of hearing Dumbo the class-traitor bloviate. I'll stay home with a blow-dryer, at least that hot air does something for me. Haranguing on JJ will have to suffice.

KF you're doing an excellent job of filtering the posts that hit a little too close to home factually for your boy Shad. Nice job selling out.

If Shad doesn’t discuss Bryant’s involvement in helping to support the Florida drug company, then Shad has no credibility in my book and this will hurt his political future. And for those of you who may still question Phil’s involvement, just read his texts.

@3:36 - everyone knows Phil is dirty and Shad is protecting him. No one cares and will gladly vote for either while bitching about all the black crime.

I deal with a lot of people and businesses in my line of work. Some really interesting folk, and plenty that aren't worth a cold drink of water. I've got plenty of stories for a few books or screenplays, but why the hell would I want to promote my name with my mug on the cover of a book?

Anonymous said...

Again, I don't necessarily dislike him...if he wants to be a famous conservative politician, at least that's better than being a famous liberal one that wants to take my guns and give me higher taxes instead. Just think it is a little distasteful to be writing a book like this. He is clearly exploiting his current position for all that it's worth and then some...

Anonymous said...

With the lawsuits around he would be a fool to lie in this book. Remember, there’s no honest print media in our state to tell this story. I can’t wait to read it.

Anonymous said...

What was Bryant's crime? Be specific.

Anonymous said...

@8:33 - I’m not @3:36, but based on Phil’s own texts, conspiracy would be an easy one to start with. God forbid anyone suggest he embezzled…..

Bill Dees said...

@2:06 PM, can you give us a link to the syllabus for the Ole Miss DEI course? Then we would know what they're actually teaching. You've read the syllabus, right?

James Crockett also wrote a book on Operation Pretense ("Operation Pretense: The FBI's Sting on County Corruption in Mississippi") and a book on the Scruggs scandal ("Power Greed Hubris: Judicial Bribery in Mississippi").

Everyone needs to understand that we all live in a state where "it's who you know, not what you know" thrives. Shad will not go after the "big fish" at this time because of who would be involved. His hands are tied to low hanging fruit. That said, I do have hope that this state will get over the "good ol' boy" system one day. MS is held back from it. Until then, it's business as usual....enjoy what you support.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
