Bring back the death penalty.... the only true deterrent.
god rest corey price.
he was murdered by a thug while simply trying to earn a legitimate living.
had he been armed , he may well still be alive.
id love to see a firearms dealer around here run a special on a good make and model gun for workers such as mr price , and include , if needed, a few hours in fundamental firearms training.
the police cannot protect you .
"The fullest extent of the law". What a chicken-shit judge and D.A. How could either of them announce 17 suspended while looking squarely at the family members?
Will serve 8;be released, and ready to kill again.
What logic did the Judge use to figure out suspending 17 years. Must be a stupid as shit algorithm.
Suspending 17 years from what should be a short rope and a long drop.
10:19 and 12:02 are CORRECT... what a shitty sentence. Should be immediate death penalty- same goes for these drive by shooters e.g. killed the 80 yo women on her couch the other night and even the girl that shot up the party on Easter and even shot her self... total disregard for life!
How is this not felony murder?
I agree that the death penalty should be reimposed in all capital murder cases. I also propose that the execution take place on the county courthouse square. This will highlight the fact that capital murder punishment is a reality.
to 12:19......this was felony murder......called capitol murder in mississippi
capitol murder is a murder committed in the furtherance of a capitol felony......in this case the capitol felony was armed robbery.
capitol murder can be punishable by a death penalty
but there has not been a death penalty sought by a hinds county district attorney in hinds county in over 15 years.
3 reasons why......
current and past district attorneys in hinds county dont know how to properly prosecute a death penalty case
current hinds county circuit court judges dont know how to properly preside over a death penalty case
also a death penalty can only be imposed by a jury...and hinds county juries refuse to hand down death sentences no matter what the defendant has done
does that answer your question?
If that release is a direct quote then no wonder the DA office is a joke. I wonder how long the perp would of gotten if he did this to a family memeber of the judge?
How is this not felony murder?
It was prosecuted at trial (plead guilty) as second degree because we have a spineless, unprepared, chicken-shit District Attorney say an easy way out with a plea deal.
And the spineless D.A. had the balls to announce the verdict as "...to the fullest extent of the law".
Life is cheap in America's radical city. Right? Yo Chowke, how is your "real time crime center" working out? Still working on those crime stats?
Should be life in prison. No excuse for only 23 years.
Someone just trying to make a honest living loses their life. Doesn’t seem fair.
