We Report, You Decide

"Your effeminacy is offensive."

A video popped up showing several Fondren street preachers in action. Is their preaching an exercise of freedom of religion or disturbing the peace? We report, you decide.

So we are to pick and choose who gets the freedom to do or not to do. Annoying ? Yes. The right approach ? No. My guess is that this guy is no different than Antifa/BLM. Agenda is different buy he's lining his pockets with some pro life rich folk money. His most certainly disturbing the peace and hopes to be arrested. Just like those on the far left. I sit right in the middle and can't stand either.

Is there a way to save the "this wicked city's going to burnnnnnnnnnnnn" between the 1:40 and 1:44 marks to use as a cell phone ring?

Unknown said...

Ahh, yes. The well-known saying of Jesus: "You need to put some baritone in your voice, that's disturbing me."

Anonymous said...

I stand with JPD on this one. They have enough to deal with. Their tolerance for these fools is amazing.

Anonymous said...

These guys are what you call anti-Jesus

Anonymous said...

Jesus did not respond with violence...but he never met these guys.

Anonymous said...

I think they have more of a mental health issue than a criminal issue.

Anonymous said...

This is pure and simple harassment. These cretins need to read the New Testament.

Anonymous said...

Their, there, they're.

Learn them.

"Jesus was a troublemaker, instigator of conflict, disrupter of unity. A violent Jesus who resolutely makes a whip to forcefully drive moneychangers (bankers) out of the Temple, over-turning their tables (John 3:15). Before, his disciples went out without a money belt, bag or sandals, and lacked nothing. But now, they are to bring a money belt and bag; and if they lack a sword, they are to “sell their cloak and purchase one” (Luke 22:35-36). Jesus the so-called pacifist instructing his followers to buy a sword? It would be as if today he advised purchasing a gun. This Jesus warns his disciples that he did not come to bring peace to earth, but division (Luke 12:51). Not peace, but a sword. Because of him, son will turn against father, daughter against mother, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law. Even a person’s enemy will be a member of one’s own household (Matt. 10:34-36).

On the night he was arrested, Peter impulsively drew his sword and cut off the ear of the high priest’s slave (John 18:10). Jesus responded to this violent act stating “All those who take the sword shall perish by the sword” (Matt. 26:52). Jesus may be speaking to Peter; but to whom is he directing his comment? After all, it was Jesus who told his disciples to sell their cloak and buy a sword. Some of the disciples were already armed, boasting, “Look, Lord, we already have two swords. That’s enough!” (Luke 22:38)."

Take it as you want.

I have changed my mind on this issue.

Want freedom of religion? Go to a church of your choosing whenever you want.

But simply put, this is not the practice of any religious speech whatsoever. This is pure harassment and disturbing the peace. Leave those microphones at home!!!

Agree with 2:37.

Hyperreligiosity is a psychiatric disturbance in which a person experiences intense religious beliefs or episodes that interfere with normal functioning. Hyperreligiosity generally includes abnormal beliefs and a focus on religious content or even atheistic content, which interferes with work and social functioning.

Anonymous said...

This is Disorderly Conduct 97-35-5 and 97-35-15. Take your pick or use both. His freedom of speech doesn’t give him the right to infringe on the freedom of others. So tired of seeing these people get away with their BS. Let him spend a few days in the Hinds county jail and ask him if it was worth his cause.

3:20, I think this guy is just putting on a show. Maybe to make Christians look bad.

Anonymous said...

He needs a blanket party and/or a trip to the wood pile.

Anonymous said...

Say what you want. I’m thinking it would be an awesome answering machine recording for those butt wipes that call me trying to sell me a car warranty!

Anonymous said...

It amazes me how gullible some of you are when it comes to this. Take note: these people aren’t trying to preach. They aren’t trying to convert. They aren’t trying to be Christlike. That has nothing to do with this method.

It has everything to do with creating a spectacle, turning heads and creating anxiety. That is what they are doing and what they hope to do. By creating a public spectacle, you stand a good chance that some pregnant girl/lady will not even get out of her car for fear of the tension and attention and will go back home and think more on having an abortion and hopefully decide against it.

Say what you will, but that is most likely a very successful technique and one where those doing the yelling don’t care about feelings, raised eyebrows and ridicule. To them, and I’m just spitballing here, it is about doing whatever it takes so that a baby doesn’t get killed.

That said, I don’t like what they do either. I also don’t care for war, either.

@3:48
Evangelicals don’t need anyone’s help to look bad.
Y’all do that well enough on your own.

They're all annoying and get on my nerves. These bible thumpers and the ones on Bourbon St., Atheist running around in screaming I don't believe in adult fairy tales, Rasta's in the Caribbean, and the guy at the mosque down the road from my flat in Kuwait who would rant and rave every Friday morning with the volume turned up to 11, no clue what he was saying. So far I've had no problems with the Wiccans, Satanists, or Buddhists but don't see to many of those around the Jackson area.

Anonymous said...

This is Amazing
Look how darkness flees the light.
Onward Christian soldiers.
Kingfish needs to put a little more baritone in his offensive effete voice too.

Anonymous said...

Well, at least Boris didn't tell anyone their Jiu Jitsu was trash.

Anonymous said...

What's your point, 3:16? Are you suggesting that the Gospel is invalid due perceived inconsistencies in Jesus's message?

I suggest you keep asking questions. Many have come to faith through first questioning it, myself included. Check out this guy:

Anonymous said...

How long has this been going on?

Anonymous said...

False prophets and worse.

It's funny they only do this shit in The Fondren.

Anonymous said...

I suppose if one really believes he is standing at the gates of Auschwitz for the unborn one would want to be as obnoxious as possible in their protest. Most Christians in Fondren seem to have no issue with an abortion clinic a stone throw from their church. I am not really sure what that says about either party involved.

Anonymous said...

Mental illness manifests in many ways

Anonymous said...

No wonder the killings are out of control in Jackson. The chicken sh@t cop just walked off. Just take a big air horn and blow it at him every time he speaks.

Anonymous said...

I didn't hear anything in the videos about abortion, and I didn't see an abortion clinic anywhere in the background. I saw a restaurant, a grocery store, and a coffee shop, but no abortion clinic. What gives?

Anonymous said...

Where do I go to sign up and to join these guys?
Sod- I mean, Fondrenites are and affront to decency and an abomination in the eyes of God.

Anonymous said...

The patriot is me is glad we live in a country where people can worship freely. The Christian in me thinks this not is representative of Jesus or the Gospel message. The Mississippi boy in me thinks the preachers need a good beat down for harassing people trying to enjoy their lunch and interfering with the productive business in Jackson. If they truly believe in their message, they should take it all over the city. The gas stations where their have been two shootings this year would be ideal for the gospel message. Plus, I can assure you the people at that gas station wouldnt call the police if they were offended. They would simple handle the matters themselves, liking by sending these preachers to their eternal reward (or judgment)

Anonymous said...

Speaking of abomination: "Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished."

Anonymous said...

This is violence pure and simple and should be met with violence, pure and simple.

If JPD let this be known, the situation would quickly solve itself.

Kingfish said...

Um, why do you think several of them take ju-jistsu? Or wear bodycams?

Anonymous said...

if heaven is full of these self righteous “preachers”. give me hell. better there than worshipping some petty narcissistic narrow minded all powerful deity who hates all but those kinds of people

Anonymous said...

Kingfish, their Jiu Jitsu is thrash. Just trust me on that one.

Anonymous said...

They should be arrested. Much like your right to swing your fist ends at my face, their right to protest ends when it is so disruptive that legitimate businesses suffer because people are afraid (or too annoyed) to patronize them. And the fact that they directly address people walking by makes this even less of a so-called protest. It is harassment and disturbing the peace. Put these nutjobs away.

Anonymous said...

Too bad the bill of rights doesn’t include the freedom from religion.

An Honest Take-away said...

seriously - They would be more acceptable and even draw a small crowd if they would simply modify their style and content instead of screaming, "You are going to hell". They are using the style of the church that shows up at funerals of service-members. That might be their desire, but it's antithetical to any sort of preaching, teaching or 'winning over'. They don't want to 'win over', convert or change behavior since they have NO background or training in that sort of activity. They're lost, except for screaming.

MY takeaway? They hope to become the style-setters for a new, screaming, sort of 'religious' assault on public places. They hope to draw print and video media, get on the news and sit in their shag-carpeted living rooms at six o'clock smoking weed watching themselves and celebrating their 'popularity'.

I'm seeing (in Wal Mart particularly) more and more young people dressed head to toe in solid black with black eyelids and nails and purple lipstick...walking around aimlessly as if in a trance, probably stoned. These are the types of people these 'sidewalk screamers' hope to attract.

These 'screamers' contribute nothing to society and they hope to recruit those who will literally tag along behind than, also unable to contribute.

They need to bring that shit right down to Woodrow Wilson to the gas stations just before the golf course... I guarantee you they would not be so cocky there.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone have background on these guys? Who are they and where do they come from? Is this supposed to be an anti abortion protest or what?

Anonymous said...

Their argument for these tactics is just as strong as that of BLM and antifa, I find all three groups extremely annoying, but there it is.

Anonymous said...

I can't wait until I encounter one and am able to call them cowards to their face for preaching the gospel where it's safe in Fondren and at the Brandon Amphitheatre. They wont go into the slums of Jackson where the crackheads, whores, pimps, and gang members are. Instead they shout from where it's safe with decent people wanting to enjoy their day or evening. All of them are cowards and hypocrites and I will gladly tell them that the next time I encounter one.

Anonymous said...

11:46, where do they come from? Mendenhall, Terry, Utica, Morton, Smith, Simpson, and Scott County. Places where rattlesnakes are part of the service and they go back to their trailers with rebel flags in the windows and slap their "old ladies" and polish their M1 Garand.

Anonymous said...

50 years ago it would have never been allowed to go this far. A couple of big ole boys with shotgun racks and rebel flags in the truck rear windows would have beat these idiots down on their Mama's orders.

Repent sinners! If you sold your soul at the crossroads so the devil can make you great, get back to Clarksdale to beseech God to make you whole again.

But play us one mo blues riff first.

The street preachers of my youth seen while passing through West TX at least accompanied their insulting, inebriated diatribes with a guitar.

" Places where rattlesnakes are part of the service and they go back to their trailers with rebel flags in the windows and slap their "old ladies" and polish their M1 Garand."

Well 1:27 PM, I don't tolerate snakes at church (or even in the backyard). And any man that abuses a female needs to be "dealt with" when no one is looking.

Rebel flags ? ... meh

But if he owns a M1 Garand, by all means he should maintain that fine weapon !

But I would indeed enjoy watching the fondren "screaming fake preachers" walk around the intersection of State Street at Duling with a snake in each hand.

@3:16 The irony of taking all of those completely out of context and then saying "take it as you want". I'd take it with the full story around it. Setting, scene, a little background on exactly what was happening in that specific instance, etc. Please don't sound bite the Bible to suit your feelings. Especially if you're gonna get it wrong.

Anonymous said...

@3:16pm. Steve? Is that you??

Anonymous said...

This individual is so misguided. IN the Bible did you ever hear Jesus talking to people like that. No Telling how many people this guy turned off. Jesus showed compassion. I have no problem with someone showing people alternatives to abortion but this is definately not the way to win anyone over

Anonymous said...

Good christians like these are (partly) why I'm not one.

"Let him spend a few days in the Hinds county jail and ask him if it was worth his cause." Yeah, let's make him a Martyr for his people. Just start comparing himself to John as similar to his last visit to Jerusalem and arrest and then when arrived in Rome around 60, where he spent another two years under house arrest. That is a lot of press and recognition this fool can do without.

3:05, The men in the video are not demonstrating Christian behavior. Here is what Christianity looks like:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. . . . Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."

Galatians 5:22-26

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
