As usual, Americans must look overseas for real news. Sky News Australia called the purported leak of Covid-19 from the Wuhan virology lab one of the "greatest coverups the world has ever seen" Monday. Sky News obtained video that claims to show bats in the lab in 2017 when it was reported there were no bats.
Sky News published a brief synopsis of the video on its Youtube channel:
The Wuhan Institute of Virology kept live bats in cages, new footage from inside the facility has revealed, disproving denials from World Health Organization investigators who claimed the suggestion was a “conspiracy”.
An official Chinese Academy of Sciences video to mark the launch of the new biosafety level 4 laboratory in May 2017 speaks about the security precautions that are in place if “an accident” occurs and reveals there had been “intense clashes” with the French Government during the construction of the laboratory.
The video shows bats being held in a cage at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, along with vision of a scientist feeding a bat with a worm.
The 10 minute video is titled “The construction and research team of Wuhan P4 laboratory of Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences” and features interviews with its leading scientists.
The World Health Organisation report investigating the origin of the pandemic failed to mention that any bats had been kept at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and only its annex referred to animals being housed there.
“The animal room in the P4 facility can handle a variety of species, including primate work with SARS-CoV-2,” it states.
A member of the World Health Organization team investigating the origin of the pandemic in Wuhan, zoologist Peter Daszak said it was a conspiracy to suggest bats were held at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
In one tweet dated December, 2020 he said: “No BATS were sent to Wuhan lab for genetic analysis of viruses collected in the field. That’s not how this science works. We collect bat samples, send them to the lab. We RELEASE bats where we catch them!”
In another tweet, dated December 11, 2020, he said: “This is a widely circulated conspiracy theory. This piece describes work I’m the lead on and labs I’ve collaborated with for 15 years. They DO NOT have live or dead bats in them. There is no evidence anywhere that this happened. It’s an error I hope will be corrected.”
This month, Daszak appeared to retract his earlier denials and admitted the Wuhan Institute of Virology may have housed bats but admitted he had not asked them.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences video was discovered by researchers investigating the origin of the pandemic who call themselves DRASTIC.
Digital archivist “Jesse” found the Chinese Academy of Sciences Video while the group's co-ordinator, who goes by a pseudonym of “Billy Bostickson” for safety reasons, has long complained evidence bats were housed in the Wuhan laboratories.
The video forms part of the investigation for the book “What Really Happened in Wuhan” which is available for pre-order at Amazon and Booktopia. Mr Daszak has not responded to requests for comment.
Dr. Peter Daszak. NIH money went to his non-profit organization, Ecohealth. Ecohealth in turn provided $826,277 to the Wuhan lab although the funds were a small share of the lab's budget. Dr. Daszak corralled other scientists and published the highly influential Lancet essay last year that squelched all debate on the virus's origin for quite some time. It was Dr. Daszak who wormed his way onto the WHO investigative team and directed it away from investigating a lab-leak theory. The good doctor might be about to find out how expendable he really is.
This is a pretty good news story. The assertions made might be proven to be wrong but this is what journalists are supposed to do. Investigate, report, dig some more, report some more.

I watched the video.Journalists should investigate and report the facts. This report includes "claims" by an anonymous source trying to sell a book on Amazon. And Sky News is trying to sell controversy to increase views. I didn't see any real evidence.
Why are you so obsessed with this? No links to reporting that SARS-CoV-2 was in the US before Christmas 2019?
If only we were our own country/continent island with competent leadership.

March 18, 2020, I subbed for Kim Wade and for two hours I said over and over how serious and deadly this virus was. Rene Shakespeare was on the air with me.
I posted the Joe Rogan interview with Dr. Osterholm that spelled out how the virus operated. Other articles and videos were posted on the same subject. Most of the Health Department press conferences were covered, recorded, and posted on this website. Daily totals were posted for quite some time. This website treated the virus as a serious public health matter.

Wonder when the next lock down occurs with this so called end of mankind disease. I'm still not convinced that the dreaded Covid actually killed 600K Americans and maybe 4 Million worldwide. "The Spanish flu, was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic caused by the H1N1 influenza A virus. Lasting from February 1918 to April 1920, it infected 500 million people – about a third of the world's population at the time – in four successive waves". No one ever put out a formal definition of the so called related death reasoning for Covid 19. I've read many different definitions from many different sources. Politicized science is not science but only politics. Many many sheep out there.
The average person crowing about the Wuhan lab has been wrong about at least a dozen major COVID-related issues in the last year.
To be fair, COVID lockdown enthusiasts also have been wrong too, but less frequently.
In either case, the frustrating thing is that they'll take literally anything suggesting they may have been partly right about one aspect of COVID as evidence that their entire worldview is right and the other side is populated entirely by charlatans and fools.
You cannot have a discourse, particularly on something as complex as this, when people prioritize pulling for their partisan team above intellectual honesty, and where there is no good faith ability to admit error.

Shocking! Labs actually have lab animals?!
The Chinese aren't an open society?!
We can't know if the lab animal brought the virus into the lab or the virus existed in the lab or even for sure, that it was a bat. Perhaps, a lab person was sick after being careless and shopped at the Wuhan market before being symptomatic but contagious.
Why is this a divisive issue. The milk is spilt. All we can do is try to find the facts to prevent another disaster.
Some of us always knew that anything said by anybody about the origin was at best, " an educated guess" and worse, speculation by idiots who see conspiracies where ordinary mistakes combined with a government or human who can't own a mistake and makes everything worse is the usual explanation.
How y'all managed to get through life without noticing humans don't like to admit mistakes and make excuses astounds me.

The lab is the source. The only question is when the leak/release occurred. In either case, China deliberately built the hype to convince the world that lockdowns of the population was the answer.
The real scandal is that the US was funding the research, knowing how dangerous it is.

Wow! The paid trolls must get automatic notifications, whenever someone discusses Sky News on the Internet. They seem to be outnumbering real people, in the comments here.
