Food Fight!!! (Presidential Edition)

The Tater and Uncle Joe had a bit of a squabble today after the President accused Governor Reeves of "neanderthal thinking. President Biden told reporters:

Governor Reeves fired right back at the President:

President Biden just said allowing Mississippians to decide how to protect themselves is “neanderthal thinking.”

Mississippians don’t need handlers. As numbers drop, they can assess their choices and listen to experts. I guess I just think we should trust Americans, not insult them.

Let's see, if opening up is "neanderthal thinking", what is Killer Cuomo's intentional killing thousands of elderly people?

Quite a few people are freaking out on social media about the Governor's removal of the mask mandate but what will that mean in real life? Not much.  You're not going to the grocery store without a mask.  Walmart, Kroger, Costco, Sam's, et al are going to require you to mask up.  National chain restaurants will do the same.  Most restaurant owners are so scared of being shut down by an outbreak they will probably require masks as they have been doing.  Health care providers will require them.  Schools and universities? You know what they will do.

Despite all the rhetoric, we probably won't see much change in our daily lives over the next few months.

Presidents Biden/Harris and the Democrat Party do not want anyone to interfere in their plans for a Great Reset

This President shouldn't be criticizing anyone's thinking.

I will continue to wear a mask until I feel comfortable not doing so. I can think for myself. I think that should be the point: We don't need the government to do our thinking for us. That's called communism and dictatorship. We've done just fine without that.

Speaking of Neanderthals, Joe needs to look in a mirror. No one, and I mean no one, including Trump, should be President or even a Medical advisor such as Saint Anthony. So I gather Dr. Thomas Dobbs is now wrong. I assume he agreed with the Tater.

Anonymous said...

What a fool. The man is supposedly speaking to the nation and world, I must admit this is one of the few times I have watched him, and he's playing this mask game. Anyone with a brain would not cover their face while speaking to a large audience. The media can be further away or even in another room. When you see him in that mask it doesn't matter what he says. He appears to be a total fool.
Tater is right. People will decide from themselves. Moreover if you are determined not to wear a mask the government can't hire enough police to force you to do it. Government's role is to determine the best medical advice and publicize it. Unfortunately they have done a poor job. I'm sure it's not an easy thing or they would be more accurate and consistent in these messages. But the public can see that Fauchi and 'experts' have dome a lot of guessing.

Biden probably hasn't actually incorporated any new information into his worldview, in at least a decade. Neanderthals were NOT STUPID. Here's a headline from Science Daily "Neanderthals more advanced than previously thought: They innovated, adapted like modern humans". And that headline was from 2010 (https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/09/100921171412.htm) So, maybe Biden's BEEN too senile to learn new things, for longer than a decade.

"Mississippians don't need handlers."

Uhhh, here goes Tater Tot attempting to rewrite the history of the past year again by pretending he didn't issue executive order after executive order that sure gave the impression he thought Mississippians couldn't think for and assess the risks for themselves.

Anonymous said...

He was mainly talking about Texas. Tater doesn't aspire to be a leader he wants to be part of the chorus. After he heard a few leaders he realized he's been singing the wrong song.

The justification for the government, to enact under emergency powers, various mandates was an emergency, not a disease. The emergency was the real possibility that the hospiptal system and medical facilities could be overwhelmed. The number of hospital beds available, and specifically ICU beds, was in danger; plans were drawn up to create emergency hospitals at Camp Shelby and other places here in Mississippi, just as temporary facilities were being prepared in other states.

Any state government, or the federal government could enact statutory law to mandate masks or other activities - but these mandates were done by emergency executive order - which is allowed under our state statutes decreeing emergency power. (This same power does not exist for Mayors in this situation, although many are claiming it without a supporting law to sustain their claims) The emergency power allowed for these mandates, but once the emergency is over, the mandate is supposed to be eliminated.

Today, the hospital bed situation and the medical capacities to deal with COVID is no longer in danger. Thus, the justification for the mandate no longer exists. Those that want to keep mandates in place until COVID no longer exists are really just looking for a way to continue making COVID a political issue rather than a medical one - they don't like Tate, or the don't like Republicans in general (just as many democrats complained about Trump's actions or inactions last year, or Tate haters that complained about his instituting mask mandates and gathering restrictions at the time.)

No emergency, no emergency power authority. Tate did the right thing, although some will forever never agree with anything he did.

Anonymous said...

If Tate thinks Mississippians are smart enough to decide for themselves when to wear masks, then why did he issue a mask mandate at all? Following Tate's logic, he should have never issued a mask mandate or restricted businesses at all.

Anonymous said...

Did Joe really remember that exact number? How did he do that? Damn.

I wish that old fool, Uncle Joe, would keep his pie hole shut. It's really hard these days to listen to any Democrat and/or liberal. I learned quite a while ago once someone has drank the kool-aid, their ability to think or speak logically is gone forever. To try and communicate with them or open their eyes to logical thinking, unintended consequences, and facts are a complete waste of effort.

If I heard Governor Reeves correctly he said that I don’t have to wear a mask, not that I couldn’t wear one. I will continue to wear one in situations where I am uncomfortable about those around me. Thank you Governor for allowing me to make my own choices!

Still waiting for Joe's first State of the Union Address where he has to stand in front of Congress and deliver an extended speech...

Can he manage even an hour of lucidity in front of the cameras?

No one should be President? No one should be a medical advisor?

Speaking of writing and of the government 'thinking for us.'

But Biden is NOT "criticizing" anyone's thinking, because this was clearly a thought free decision making process. Sort of like tax bills and trips to Cancun.

Somebody help me out here. Isn't "Neanderthal" the biggest word Biden has used since he's been in office ?

Anonymous said...

Both of them playing to their base. When did politics become so surprising?

Anonymous said...

Wait I taught Biden was only talking about Tater, from the previous comments I see he has plenty of company.
Oh and btw, if you don’t want to where a mask or take the vaccine, once you catch Covid, make sure you tell your family what you want each of them to have, just in case you die.

Anonymous said...

All the sheep following their shepherd. Both parties sad and pathetic.

Anonymous said...

Each of these two politicians is simply playing to his respective base of stupid supporters. And, you are buying it. Politics 101

Anonymous said...

The whole mask thing never should have been politicized. It’s one of the many blunders made by the previous administration.

Anonymous said...

A President that has exhibited symptoms of Alzheimer's for years
is now calling reasonable leaders neanderthals ?

Gawd that's funny.
Actually sad . . but still funny.

Has Biden even commented on his buddy Cuomo's woes ?

(Or is Biden wondering about the smell of Cuomo's accuser's hair).

Anonymous said...

Uuummm...I've being grocery shopping and eating out in restaurants without a mask for MONTHS.

Anonymous said...

“ what is Killer Cuomo's intentional killing thousands of elderly people? “

Being a bit overly dramatic there queenfish.

Anonymous said...

"Both of them playing to their base. When did politics become so surprising?"

Biden isn't playing to a base, he's following the direction of science, as he should. Tate thought he could be a hero by going against the guidance of the CDC. Less than 10% of the population is vaccinated and most of us aren't even eligible yet. It was a premature decision at best. Should have waited until we're further along with vaccinations schedule.

Mississippians don't need handlers! Mississippi has needed no outside help whatsoever in maintaining the status of being dead last in the nation. I'm continually amazed at that red-faced mushy was able to get elected governor.

Anonymous said...

4:PM, I did "where" a mask. And I did "catch Covid", as did the rest of the family. I was the only one with any symptoms at all. Maybe that's because I was in a trading frenzy, and missed some sleep (Covid did generate market instability, and there was so much money to be made...), or maybe it was because my daily carbs intake went over 50 grams.

Anyway, the STANDARD ANTIVIRAL STRATEGIES worked for us, just fine. These are things which have been common knowledge, since the "Men's Health Crisis", a generation back. Before then, alarmist nonsense like yours, might have been credible. But AIDS taught the world a lot about viruses. Why haven't YOU learned these things? I can understand your helplessness where Statistical Analysis is concerned (hence your inability to grasp that the current "crisis" isn't/wasn't really a crisis). Statistics aren't for everybody. But is the concept of "The Immune System" really that hard for you to grasp?

Or, are you being PAID to be deliberately obtuse?

Neanderthals weren’t dumb. They were extremely progressive. They allowed Homo Sapiens to move into their hunting grounds, consume all of their resources, and then breed them into extinction.

Basically just like liberal Caucasian people.

Burke said...

Thanks, 4:17. Let's all try to remember the basic issue: people can die a very prolonged and painful death from the virus. All the arguments about individual rights fall apart in face of the immorality of an individual's putting himself or herself beyond accounting for the question: "What are you doing to help protect lives?"

Biden has a bad temper, but I would, too, if I had to deal with the willful ignorance of Governors like Reeves and Abbott.

Not going to stores without a mask? Is that a joke. I go to every one of those stores regularly without a mask.

Anonymous said...

Hey 414

Fauci shouldve never lied about the masks in the first place.

Anonymous said...

Once the economic instability of the nation becomes quite clearly illuminated - and it won't be long - nobody is going to give a shit about Covid....only putting a roof over their heads. This virus was a deliberate gift from China to destabilize the U.S.......next wave of attack will be them crashing the economy for real by announcing they no longer accept U.S. Dollars. Millions are not ready.

The puppet Xiden will be the doofus out front - while the Nazi left will attempt to usher in their dictatorship behind the scenes....they've already frighted the Supreme Court into complicity - John Roberts has to manage his seizure disorder, and can't take any real pressure. So - there is no law and order. Buckle up folks!

Nearly 500,000 American deaths are attributed to tobacco use every year. When are these communist bastards going to ban smoking... oh wait, tobacco lobbyists are huge political donors. Masks are only a tool of subjugation!

Anonymous said...

How does a mask "subjugate" you? Does having shoes on in a store subjugate you? Not letting your pit bull walk around without a rabies tag "infringing" your "FreeDumb?" Pants too much of a restriction for you, or is it just the embarrassment from your lack of manhood there keeping you in line with the "draconian" sartorial requirements of the Derp State?

Anonymous said...

Kingfish,

Fudging covid data to make nursing home deaths appear lower than they are is the same thing as intentionally killing the elderly?

Well, that’s totally reasonable and not unhinged at all! I come to this site expecting to see bonkers statements, but it’s more often than not in the comments section, not the article itself.

And 3:33 obviously didn’t watch the first presidential debate. One of the debaters looked a lot more mentally competent than the other, and I’m willing to bet it’s not the guy he/she voted for.

Anonymous said...

I wish Tater had never instituted any mask wearing. Most likely Darwin woulda collected a number of those idiotic red hat wearing idjits. BTW, love those libertarian claims of "it's my body...". Then how can it be ok to regulate abortions? Logic doesn't exist and stupidity is praised... I don't wish anyone ill but if they wanta reject science then let them go. Don't like most Democratic platforms but at least the Dems have a platform. The red hats just worship at a cult of personality. Nuff said

Damn @4:24 your a piece of work, you know that? Biden is awesome, he followed the science... my ass. This is the guy who said there wasn’t a functioning vaccine program when he took office. Unfortunately no one told him that nearly 20 million Americans had already been vaccinated. And you closet clowns who say Trump shouldn’t have ever been president need to wake the piss up and realize just who pushed this vaccine through. You really think Joe Bumbler could have pushed a vaccine through in a year? Not likely! And that science big Joe is following I guess if you’re a union that donates millions to get you elected you can make up your own science huh? That’s why kids aren’t in school. And we can’t forget that Super Joe has just freed over a hundred illegal immigrants that tested positive for COVID and sent them all over the country. Yep that’s Joes science for ya!

Can Reeves issue a non-obesity mandate?

Y’all need to quit being played by politicians. They don’t know you and care nothing about you! Many of my friends have died from COVID-19 and I will continue to wear my protective mask! I Should have been wearing the damn thing way before COVID.

As one of the previous comments mentioned, Tate and the President are just playing to their base!

Just like using sanitizer after they shake your nasty stinking hands! Again, do you really think they care about you?

Get plenty of rest, drink water, take your vitamins, don’t stress this political shigity and love your neighbor. God bless America and the Great State of Mississippi!

If we were following the science Biden* wouldn't be president because we wouldn't have put a mentally impaired person into office.

Er, yeah. Elmer Taterfudd and his doddering grandfather arguing over whether they should use double-barreled shotguns with less than 10 round clips or AR-47 assault machine guns to hunt the Easter Bug Bunny. Be verwy, verwy qwiet...they are hunting wabbit traywls...

As surprising as this may sound, neither of these two is qualified in the least to talk about the use of aspirin for headaches much less virology and virus mutation. I am. And I can tell with you with absolute certainty that no one can say with certainty what will happen, but I can tell you with certainty what will not happen. What will not happen is that this virus will mutate less successfully (from the POV of the virus) by having increased access to more hosts.

Geez, couldn't one of them at least tried to kiss us before they fucked us? After all, Cuomo would have.

Anonymous said...

4:24 either your facts are wrong or your math is. No, wait - both are.

MS population is under 3 million. Over 400,000 vaccines already given in MS. Considering that the latest polls show that approximately 40$ of the adult population (children weren't asked about in the poll, but the kids of the 40$ probably have the same attitude) are not planning to get the vaccine.

So - less than 10$ vaccinated? Right now, appears that 25% of the adult population in MS is vaccinated, and probably close to 50% of the population that intends to take the jab.

The purpose of the mask mandate was not to wait until the virus was cured, or beaten by the vaccinations but to slow the spread so that it would not overwhelm the hospital systems. That has been done.

Now, folks 'should' continue to practice good sense and follow the guidance but there is no basis for continuing the mandate issued under emergency powers while there was an emergency surrounding the hospital bed availability

Never confuse Tater with someone who cares about the people. He knows he's a stick in the mud with no personality, so he is simply doing what he needs to do to keep in the good graces of Trump and the GOP. This was a purely political statement for his personal benefit.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
