Check out what New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell just did:
Hmmm.... you think there are any developers just waiting to swoop in when businesses start closing in the French Quarter?

Stay your white ass at home, Jamie. You bitch ass nigga.
Covid mania...as an aside, what happened to the flu? the silence is so deafening it must have been eradicated...meanwhile all countries south of us must have vaccinated the entirety of their inhabitants as we are about to make room for the migrant influx on its way...surely this is so...if Covid is such a threat that a total lockdown in NOLA for Mardi Gras is required...then all of the legal immigration challenged folks (don't wanna hurt their feelers by calling them illegals or aliens) must be Covid free...right?
I want to care, I'm just all out of give a fucks for any democrat run city at this point.
Covidiots in 3...2...1...
KF - I guess you have no intention of censoring crude, offensive language on this site. But be sure and post your Sunday sermon.
When are municipal elections in Louisiana. I'll give anybody 50 to 1 she is not re-elected.
Even California and NY are easing off of the draconian restrictions. Latoya is doubling down. Sucks for so many down there.
lmao at 3:44
Well at least he won’t approve comments that insinuate holocaust denial or questions about Obama’s birth certificate!
Cant wait to continue wearing a mask after vaccination.
3:58 Do you really think there can be an easing off for Mardi Gras? Do you politely ask at least 75% of the normal rowdy partygoers to stay home while 25% celebrate in socially distanced safety? If so, I've got a bridge to sell you. If she hadn't shut it down completely there would be hundreds of thousands packing the street.
Take a look at COVID numbers from last March in the New Orleans area. It was a major center for the outbreak with hospitals overwhelmed and one of the highest per-capita case rates in the nation. Same thing would happen all over again. There just isn't any way to control the crowd size and enforce safety procedures in that situation. Expecting only responsible revelers to come down for Mardi Gras is insane.

From what year in the past, are you writing to us? I ask, because here in 2021, we know, from events which transpired in the year 2020, that VOTES NO LONGER COUNT. It will not matter how many people vote for or against Latoya Cantrell. Whether she "wins" or "loses", will be determined by "other factors".
I thought all groups in NOLA had reached a compromise for 2021 Mardi Gras.
Guess I was wrong.
Gawd, that Mayor is just as goofy as Antard.
The Krewes of Endymion, Rex, Zulu and many others have more funds than the actual city.
I am not a COVID denier. COVID is real and it is dangerous. People have died from COVID. Car wrecks are also real and dangerous. People have died from car wrecks. But I still drive to work, drive on vacations, etc. I assess the risk, and drive carefully. I think we can live with COVID without destroying people's entire livelihoods. But democrats don't think so. They want to stupidly shut everything down.
@4:03 but sir...the poor dears trembling behind their facial force fields don't know that you have been vaccinated(which gives up the game of why masks anyway)for instance...perfume evaporates molecules that you are able to smell, right? and if you are able to smell perfumes whilst wearing the force field, the scent molecules made it to your olfactory right? so are we to believe that Covid can't get in because it does not release a scent molecule? maybe that's why Fauci et al are suggesting double or event triple masking...but if you do, that will make it harder to breathe and thus you labor more to draw in sufficient air...and remember if you are still able to smell ANYthing...molecules made it in...maybe a Hefty garbage bag and tightly wrapped duct tape would work........virus gonna virus baby
PS a perfume molecule is about .3 microns whilst the little Covid bugger is about .125...
@4:37 You greatly overestimate liberals' IQs. They will re-elect her soundly.
Dang Kingfish, sure am glad you have this site.
I've now found a new and reliable source for all my medical advice, and probably most everything else along with it
Aisle B Bach has it all down pat. Why don't you give him/herZit a daily column with all the good information flows from that great foundtain of knowledge.
4:55 pm
Your dying in a car wreck will not cause 1000s of others to catch your bad driving habits and die in car wrecks all over the globe. At most you’ll kill a dozen while swerving pot holes.
Stop ignoring covid is contagious....and guess what?
The super strands are in Nola now spreading at Tulane like wild fire. As numbers of cases go up the % of deaths and severe cases rise.
I have a place in the middle of the quarter and it’s been a mad house over the last few weekends. Maskless covid hole.
Please Wear a mask and quit being so silly. If we try to work together we can get back to more normal times pretty quickly.
Absolute power corrupts absolute.
Because the coronavirus only spreads in the FQ between feb 12th and mardi gras and nowhere else?
Kudos to the Mayor someone has to save the idiots from themselves. Most cities in Louisiana are shutting it down. I haven’t heard are they going to have a COVID Convention on the Coast. As for developers swooping in, who do you think own most of the French Quarter and the CBD.
4:37. Election is in 2022. The people in NO are pissed, not because of the COVID, but because the mayor yanks the rug out from under them after plans have been made. I’m writing this from there, and total anger everywhere. This too after the mayor spent $600k on a New Years Eve celebration at the Moon Walk.
What am I going to do with my supply of beads? No T&A?
5:01 - slept in your college chemistry class? The virus is made up of several molecules, clinging together, each much bigger than the biggest molecules found in perfume... (I am a chemist)
3:58 pm, as we just saw in the 2020 elections, people who vote elect no one, people who count the votes are the ones that do the electing.
For the Chemist at 9:35 - I realize this question might be above your pay grade, but, can you comment on just how it is that a fart can circulate through an elevator compartment in less than four seconds, literally bringing half the occupants to their knees?
Bonus Question: Why is it that a silent fart will negatively impact twice the number of people as will the most prolific of noisy audio salutes?
One dose vaccinated residents in nursing homes are dying rapidly.
We are not near done.
Wear masks everywhere and wash.
Going to get harder people
yeah @9:35...it was boring and I was too stoned to care...so Mr Chemist...how many molecules make up a Covid micron? and size? hmmmm? just asking...I mean...I have heard that size matters, so...
let me help...bottom line...the collection of molecules that make up a Covid virus particle are smaller than the "gaps" in a mask...even the hallowed N95...I mean if we would all stop breathing we could mitigate the threat entirely
oh...and...does air social distance? asking for a friend.........
Heading to Biloxi that weekend where their residents aren’t treated like small children. She is a horrid excuse for a mayor, but the clowns in this city will certainly re-elect her. WTF is someone from Los Angeles doing with her big caboose sitting in the mayor’s chair in the first place?!?!?!
full disclosure...my dad was a chemist (and no...not the Breaking Bad variety)
A applaud her understanding that Covid is scheduled to end the day after Passover and it will be OK to end the restrictions the day Mardi Gras is over.
