EL Rushbo, Rest in Peace

Rush Limbaugh passed away this morning after a long fight with lung cancer.

My all time favorite radio talk show hosts are Art Bell and Rush Limbaugh. Art passed in 2017 and now Rush.

Talk Radio will never be the same because all of the other talkers are boring.

Oh wow! I listened to Rush back in the 1990s on WJNT and for many years afterward. His show pretty much single-handedly saved AM radio and he was beloved by many. Chrissie Hynde who wrote the song he used as his theme and who disagreed with his politics even gave him props because her father loved the show and it gave him comfort in his final days.

God bless you, Rush.

Don’t believe the fake news, he’s not dead, just faking it for attention.

At one time his brand of broadcast commentary was considered radical. Now, it's the norm. In his own way he was a pioneer. Good or bad, time will tell.
RIP El Rushbo.

well, at least it's warmer where he is than it is here.

The true GOAT. He united all wings of the Republican party from establishment to populist, from classical liberals to ultra nationalists. There will never be another. RIP

How did he cover RBG’s death? I suggest we give him exactly the same courtesy he gave her when she passed.

The world of politics has been described as a boiling soup. Rush and other wags like him stir the pot. He could have been a lot worse. We'll see worse and we might even come to miss ole' Rush. Wait and see. RIP

@12:42 - LOL, thanks for sharing.

""Rush! You made it!" - Ronald Reagan to Rush Limbaugh today"

Fat Melvin is on a roll today smh

Here’s to hoping Biden’s landslide victory will haunt Rush for eternity.

Anonymous said...

He led the right down a path of conspiracies and lies. Hopefully his death can bring comfort to some of the many he wronged.

“Rush Limbaugh passed away this morning after a long fight with lung cancer.”

He was a weak man who denied that smoking kills. He didn’t fight anything except the truth and we will never know how many of his gullible listeners were harmed by those lies.

"You know how I know Rush was a piece of shit? Coz we aren't even getting any stories of acts of kindness or anything. It's just "He was great on radio!"

RIP Rush. No one could articulate the cultural and political landscape in the country like Rush. Not surprised one bit by the behavior of many of the posters above. So much hatred in the hearts of so many these days is resulting in all the deceitfulness we see in these times.

Limbaugh dying of lung cancer? Who would have thought?

Anonymous said...

I first listened to Rush in the 1990s when he began each broadcast with something like "Welcome to Day 223 of America held hostage by Bill & Hillary Clinton." He was a great educator about U.S. & world politics.

Unknown said...

I remember first listening to him in the early 90s when I was at USM and I delivered paper in a truck all day around campus. He opened my eyes to liberal vs conservative during the Clinton years.

Anonymous said...

Rush was always the most well-reasoned of the conservative talkers. What he said was generally tempered and made sense. He came at issues from a moral perspective and he usually came at them from angles not considered by other conservatives. He was the best of the best, and I've often wondered who could take his place when he was gone (if anyone).

Oh, and of course someone on Lumumba's staff would write a comment (baby) chock FULL of grammatical errors! Perfect! Thanks for giving us what we expected from that administration.

Write it like you'd speak it, right?

Anonymous said...

Love him or hate him, there is no denying that Rush (like Trump) was a faithful Zionist and obedient servant of Israel.

Anonymous said...

Thank God for all the years we had him on the front line against evil.

Feels like losing a dear close friend.

Wish he could have lived to see America recover from the hate, lies, treachery, and cowardice that caused and allowed our fall. And I pray we do.

Who can fill the gap?

What snowflake is this quoting my tweets? I will give you more if you want lol

Someone died and all some of you can do is comment ugly things. Here’s hoping that when it’s your time people don’t say I’m glad that piece of shit is gone. Just because you don’t agree with him doesn’t mean that you have to be ugly.

For those who are damning the dead, does your anonymity push you to write what your internal nudge tells you not to say? Is this the better part of you? May your children be influenced to better behavior.

Liberals are unbelievable can you not turn off the hate for one day when somebody dies. I used to get so mad at you'll but now just feel sorry for you. To be filled with such hate. Your heart has just turned black. And the irony if it all you think you are making the world a better place.

Anonymous said...

I think it’s ironic that Rush would die on the day Trump launched his public campaign to crush the GQP establishment. What would Lincoln, Roosevelt, Hoover, Eisenhower and Reagan think?

Anonymous said...

This is some funny shit reading how all of these atheist’s think that Rush is in hell.

The joke’s gonna be on their dumb asses when they themselves end up there with Bill Minor et al.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

JJ,

Amazed at the number of commenters here who hate all that our ancestors in this great country have given us, and they would now give it away freely in exchange for the lies, empty promises, and enslavement promised by power-hungry, wanna-be-dictators, most of whom have never actually sweated at work, or shed a drop of blood for their country, and whose only interest in life is siphoning off money from some entity for their own lazy, selfish use. Many of these folks exist in Washington, but they apparently have offspring here in our state as well.

Anonymous said...

The left continues to embrace hatred with fervor, as evidenced by a number of the brigade commenters here with their petty kicking of a corpse.

It takes an acute psychosis to revel in such bitter, vitriolic hatred for a person while claiming that he is the actual hater.

Anonymous said...

This has brought some sad commentary from some small persons. It says far more about their pathetic souls than anything or anybody else.

Burke said...

Rush Limbaugh made Paul Harvey look like a titan of political commentary. Limbaugh was hateful, yet his fans are shocked that he could be hated. Paul Harvey was corny, but it was mostly good corny.

I will say that they both had good pipes.

Anonymous said...

Flush Rush.

Anonymous said...

Surprised kingfish is allowing all the comments, but it’s all in good fun. Rush had no problem making fun of people dying so who could complain when he gets the same treatment?

@5:28
Art Bell replays on Saturday evenings 8:00PM to midnight on SuperTalk. Perhaps EIB will keep Rush’s Saturday “Week in Review” show so we can listen and be reminded how Right he was! And it would be interesting to hear old 1990s shows about Slick Willie.

Anonymous said...

Rush was an entertainer. Don't make him an idol or a demon. It makes you look stupid if you do. He was a successful entertainer, little more.
what's wrong with that? RIP

Anonymous said...

Limbaugh enraged the left wing liberals by simply using their own words against them. It’s tough to swallow the bull shit coming out of one’s own mouth but Limbaugh pushed it down their throats. And some of the comments here prove his point. Liberals and the manure they vomit daily may have fooled the country but America isn’t dead yet. Neither is his voice.

Kingfish said...

Shaun King's statement was funny to read. It's almost as if he were writing about himself.

Anonymous said...

I find it ironic that Rush Limbaugh died of cancer because he himself was cancer on the mindset of the conservative party. I always found it particularly karmic that the guy who railed against "dope-smoking liberals" for years had been secretly obtaining fraudulent prescriptions to fuel his hydrocodone habit.

El Rushbo was a talented entertainer and comedian who I'm sure wouldn't be offended by the mean, nasty stuff liberals are saying about him today. He could dish it out as well as he could take it. After all, this is the guy who called Chelsea Clinton “The White House Dog” on his national program because he thought attacking a thirteen-year-old girl and calling her ugly was fun and entertaining. Or mimicking and mocking Michael J. Fox for his Parkinsons. Good stuff, right?

Anonymous said...

Rush Limbaugh will live on forever, rent free in the minds of looney liberals just like Trump still does.

Anonymous said...

Any liberals who took up the challenge of listening to Rush for 2 weeks ended up converting to dittoheads. It is why the left had to constabtly take his comments out of context and even lie. 7:42PM is a perfect example of a leftist repeating things Rush never said.... but the driveby media says he did!

Anonymous said...

As I write this there are 55 comments on this thread. Probably a good indication of the percentages of the left right makeup of the people on here. Sadly too many damn liberals.

Calm Down said...

Rush was a fine American who opened up a lot of minds and did a lot of good for a lot of people. The hate being spewed by the leftist party of peace is telling, but it wouldn't have phased Rush.

"What would Lincoln, Roosevelt, Hoover, Eisenhower and Reagan think? February 17, 2021 at 3:12 PM"

Is there supposed to be a common denominator among those folks? Why not include John Wayne Gacy, Dan Quayle and Mao?

PS: Reagan was a large Rush fan.

Anonymous said...

Rush said not long ago that when this time came he hoped he could hear all the comments made by the ankle biters, as he would surely be amused. A truly great man who will be sorely missed.

Anonymous said...

Liberals are mean. There is no getting around that fact.

Anonymous said...

The response from the left always seems to be an effort to silence whatever voice they disagree with -- be it Rush, Fox News, Sean Hannity, etc. If nothing else, Limbaugh should be appreciated for raising millions and millions of dollars for charity -- namely Leukemia research, Tunnel to Towers, and the USMC law enforcement fund. He also personally contributed hundreds of thousands to charity each year as well. Let those who have not sinned, cast the first stones.

Anonymous said...

If Rush was your hero, you have led a sad life.

Anonymous said...

Rush Limbaugh was not as portrayed by the left (hateful, mean etc). Anyone who listened to him over time and in context was struck by his knowledge, humor and intelligence. The left hated him because he effectively communicated the conservative viewpoint on major issues of the day. He will be missed. If Ihated the US and it’s founding principles, believed there was nothing exceptional about the US, supported abortion or opposed freedom of speech (all core tenets of the Democratic Party these days) I’d be relieved Rush was gone too.

Anonymous said...

So tell all of us your HERO/HERO'S and why? Would love to see your list.

By the way I don't recall anyone calling him a hero. I looked at all the responses no HERO. Online several podcast have called him a hero for opening up AM radio. He was a hero to his advertisers, the largest radio audience in history divided between conservatives, liberals, independents and libertarians.

Rush like all of us, was a flawed human. He had problems and personal demons, as we all do. Like so many others before him used satire and humor to create conversation. He was not always my cup of tea, Trump was not always right in my eyes, nor is Biden, Miss P or Mr S.

Calling out someone else for a sad life really reflects on you own life, sadness begets sadness.

Anonymous said...

He leave a Great Void, for 3 decades I have said around 11am, "time to see what Rush has to day" I am Very Sad.

Anonymous said...

I remember when Harry Reid sent a letter of complaint to Limbaughs syndicator Clear Channel. Rush obtained the letter, auctioned it off on E-Bay for 2.1 million dollars and then matched it for a total of 4.2 million dollars and Donated the money to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation.

Golden EIB Microphone said...

Has Biden signed an EO banning mention of Rush in the halls of gubment? If not, he just hasn't thought about it yet and nobody has pushed it under his nose. Sadly for the elected leftists, thanks to the invention of ear-buds, 75% of their subordinates listened to Limbaugh.

Anonymous said...

How will Spatula City and Road Kill Cafe survive his passing?

Well, considering Judin is a supporter of Imperial Japan of the 1930s and 40's, I don't think we should really care what he thinks.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
