And Then There Were Four

The Shadster will throw his hat into the ring for Governor next week.

Mr. White will join Attorney General Lynn Fitch, Former Speaker of the House Phillip Gunn, and Ag Commish Andy Gipson in declaring their candidacies for Governor next year.

Some super smart capable candidates and then Lynn Fitch

Anonymous said...

Shad has never given me a syrup-filled biscuit at the state fair...

Anonymous said...

I am afraid Lynn Fitch and Phillip Gunn are suffering from delusions of grandeur. They need to find something more productive with their time than running for governor.

Anonymous said...

KF, you’d best get yourself a new set of knee pads.

Anonymous said...

He announced Phil was the whistleblower! Wasn't that sweet enough?

Anonymous said...

I am shocked I say, shocked. I didn't see the coming. Who knew? (Everyone).

Anonymous said...

Well, bless his little heart.

Anonymous said...

Free State of Jones!

Anonymous said...

Hopefully the rest of his campaign fliers won't be generated by AI.

Anonymous said...

Lynn Fitch is wasting her time and effort. Shad could make it interesting but probably a two-horse race between Gunn and Gibson.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget Delbert. I think it comes down to Delbert and Gunn. The hat and the auditor will split the aw shucks Trumper crowd. Nobody takes Lynn seriously.

Anonymous said...

So it's Phillip Gunn, Lynn, and the two segregationists Andy & Shadrick. Go Land Mass!

Anonymous said...

Well, I won't vote for the airhead AG and I've never been impressed with Gunn. I'll have to toss a coin to decide between the other two. Which one will be the least slavish to Trump? That's the one I'll vote for.

Anonymous said...

I would vote for shad

Anonymous said...

Cheap shot and not funny.

Anonymous said...

Andy Gipson is the man and I’d like for anyone to give me a serious argument against him other than you don’t like his hat or his singing. The guy is Mississippi to the dad-gum bone and actually wants to end all the crime in this state. I have personally talked with him and he acknowledges issues that Tater Tot and all the other soft GOP “leaders” won’t (brain drain).

Anonymous said...

The primaries will be ugly...mudslinging and food fighting. Hold my BEER!

Anonymous said...

Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde

Anonymous said...

@3:30

ok you want an argument against him ill play

shad is a rhodes scholar

your turn jethro

Anonymous said...

the winner has not entered the race, yet. smartly so

Anonymous said...

Gunn - political grandstander; orchestrated the flag change disaster (no)
Fitch - clueless (no)
White - little brother (no)
Gipson - drilled a well at the state fair; created Genuine MS; led fairground upgrades (yes)

Anonymous said...

Shadrack thinks he owns the 'brain drain' topic due to his stupor duper task force white paper! (He's wrong.)

Anonymous said...

There were pictures of The Hat and other politicians at some event last night where The Hat was shooting a precision rifle off a bench with a bipod and rear bag and he was holding the stock of the rifle like he was shooting freehanded. If you're going to take a photo-op, at least look like you know what you're doing...

Anonymous said...

There has never been a less charismatic, relevant, exciting candidate than Philip Gunn. He will do nothing to conserve anything and he damn sure will bend the knee every time.

Anonymous said...

4:01 the hell are you talking about? That is literally a display/showcase of different rifles/scopes and in the picture he’s not doing anything “wrong”. Can you please not run your mouth when YOU don’t know what you’re talking about?

Anonymous said...

Too bad it's November 9. His buddy Jody Owens gets sentenced on November 4 and may not be able to go.

Anonymous said...

All of the Facebook rednecks are supporting Gipson (because of the flag), but we know the money is going to back Gunn. He's the only one with some sense.

Anonymous said...

It’s gonna come down to who the Haley Barbour Political Machine anoints, sadly.
Fitch has no business holding any public office.
Senor White seems better suited at his current job level.
I like Mr. Andy, but not sure about being governor.
Gunn has screwed up so much but has been out of the picture for awhile so people may forget….

Anonymous said...

Tommy Duff was supposed to announce

Anonymous said...

Meemaws out there falsifying their state government timecards will breathe a sigh of relief knowing Shad's about to be out of state government.

Anonymous said...

I guess it’s going to be Phillip Gunn. The racist Ag Commissioner, MAGA Auditor & Lady without profile AG would be disasters.

Anonymous said...

So you support the Baptist Preacher that doesn’t think women should be in church leadership positions & is a racist would help Mississippi.

Krusatyr said...

Quick, we need a surgeon to sew The Hat to Shadrack, unifying heart and brain, to create the perfect Janusian Dyad governor.

Anonymous said...

Correct! The 'winner' because he is by far the best - and the one qualified- to be Governor, and because he will eventually be the winner.

Look for an announcement once we get through with these damn mid-terms and Thanksgiving.

Krusatyr said...

I'll vote for Gunn if he promises to send all Canada Geese to a gas chamber.

Anonymous said...

As the post above says, the winner hasn't entered the race, yet.

Anonymous said...

There are those of us in Jones County who know Shad is fake and has spent the last decade trying to recreate himself. He’s been a campaign manager, a 4th or 5th chair associate attorney with little to no actual real legal expertise. He was handed the auditors gig and we now know why as he’s clearly taken steps to shield Phil Bryant from any accountability. His military service, while admirable, is clearly intended to help his political career. He doesn’t have the temperament or maturity to lead this state…..see his childish diatribe with John Polk a couple of years ago. He’s a no go for me.

Anonymous said...

So was Slick Willy Clinton.

Anonymous said...

Just out of curiosity, what is that map in the background? It's certainly not Jones County, and it's certainly not Mississippi.

It's probably bad form to have a state map in your announcement for Governor that isn't the state you're running for.

Anonymous said...

6:01 I simply can’t believe I’m agreeing with Krusatyr. I just had this same thought after a walk. Those birds are somehow federally protected and all they do is eat, poop, and get aggressive for no reason. It’s a perfect metaphor for the culture.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Duff has very capable advisors, the wait is for a reason.

Anonymous said...

For the sake of Mississippi I hope 3:41 is correct.

Krusatyr said...

Behind Shadrack is the NorthEast quarter of the State of MS.

Anonymous said...

Andy, Shad, and Lynn are all embarrassing. I will support Tommy Duff if he runs. If he does not run probably Gunn.

Anonymous said...

Don’t forget fired state trooper Ivana Williams. She has a small following on Facebook and thinks she can parlay that into a statewide campaign 😂😂😂😂

Anonymous said...

It will be awfully hard for a Mormon (Tommy Duff) to be elected governor in the Bible Belt.

Anonymous said...

Of the four, who has excelled at their current position?
Yep, and that is why I will vote for Shad White.

Anonymous said...

Cute, but wrong Gunn. :)

Anonymous said...

Andy Gipson may come across as a country bumpkin to some, but he has some very impressive credentials.

Anonymous said...

I've never heard Andy say anything remotely racist.

Gunn wants to dictate and thinks it's his turn.

Shad thinks the governor audits waste.

Fitch wants to decorate and thinks it's her turn.

Delbert hates to go home and thinks it's his turn.

Duff is weird, like his brother Romney. IYKYK

The democrat socialists have no candidate.

Anonymous said...

Whoever doesn’t proclaim to be a trump republican…

Anonymous said...

This is one time I'm all in for Gunn control. Please, somebody, anybody, take my Gunn away.

Anonymous said...

John Polk did get crossways with Shad. And he's dead now. So watch out.

Anonymous said...

"Just out of curiosity, what is that map in the background? It's certainly not Jones County, and it's certainly not Mississippi."

Oh, great. Now folks are going be pedantic about maps. Oh, sure, it may have a few unexplained and unexplainable rough edges, but dammit it's our land mass, kinda-sorta-about-like-if-you-squint. Shad is so civic-minded he wants to govern folks in Alabama, too, and expecting him to know who is who or where is where is just expecting too much from too little (pardon the pun)!

Besides, if federal judges and highfalutin' law firms are artificially intelligent, why isn't it good enough for our next guv?

WISEOWL said...

Went to Harvard, never get my vote. Go Hat

Anonymous said...

So far, Gunn is getting my vote.

Anonymous said...

People underestimated Gunn when he ran for the house, but he defeated a Barbour. He is the most genuine and best person in the race.

Anonymous said...

They are all crooks.

Anonymous said...

Shadster threw his hat in the ring as soon as the was elected as auditor. Has been campaigning 24-7 since.

Anonymous said...

If elected Governor, will Shad have time to video his push-ups and pull-ups for us?

Anonymous said...

Is Bryant Songy Snell running Shad’s campaign?

Anonymous said...

Still waiting to hear if Duff enters the fray.

Anonymous said...

It'll be difficult, but not as difficult as you may think.

Anonymous said...

October 29, 2026 at 7:50 AM
Yeah we know the NAACP Jr. are all crooks. Look at their ex-mayor and ex-part time district attorney.

Anonymous said...

Andy isn't against women holding positions in the church, just the pulpit. But that's also what the Bible says. It ain't Andy.

Anonymous said...

He's the only one roundly disliked in both houses.

Anonymous said...

"ok you want an argument against him ill play. Shad is a rhodes scholar. your turn jethro". I'm not Jetro, but I'd like a turn.

We have a former governor who was also a former State Auditor who had a B.A. from Ole Miss, a masters degree from Johns Hopkins and a Juris Doctor from Harvard. He later became ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Secretary of the Navy.

WOW! Talk about credentials - Which goes to show credentials don't amount to a damned thing when it comes to being a successful governor.

Slogans could not Savus from Mabus, but it would be Bad to have Shad.

Anonymous said...

Once again, the lone krusayduh has it wrong. The Goose Grillin' Gunn was a different fellow with the same last name.

Anonymous said...

Genuine? Well, but genuine WHAT? lol

Anonymous said...

Actually, Andy has excelled in his current role as well as the time he served in the legislature. Don't forget that Feel Brant appointed him because he was a timely and much needed burr under Brant's saddle blanket in the legislature.

Shadrack has excelled at avoiding the constraints of a job description. He would be a runner up to Gunn's ability to piss everybody off.

Anonymous said...

Appointed to office by Deputy Feel. Enough said.

Anonymous said...

Shadster sounds a lot like Shyster.

Anonymous said...

moi aussi.

Anonymous said...

Pleeeeease open up shooting these geese at the Rez.

Anonymous said...

Wrong.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn’t vote for Howdy Doody Shad if the only other candidate was a Jackass. He has no substance and is a habitual liar. He inflates ALL his accomplishments, if that is what you people wish to call them. He has ruined so many innocent peoples lives half-ass “investigating” so called crimes, just to run for governor. History will label him an ineffective bully who was beaten up everyday in high school.

Anonymous said...

hahahahaha well that may be true, but I ll take a chance on credentials over festus any day of the week

by the way: nice work on the slogans lol

Anonymous said...

@9:47 I've heard "Savus from Mabus" many times but no one has said what was so bad about him other than the D next to his name. Care to enlighten me?

Anonymous said...

Shad, please read and reread the Peter Principle.

Anonymous said...

Lynn and Cindy both need to sit their ignorant and incompetent asses down. Cindy you look like you missed the real looking girl gene pool so quit the transgender bashing ads!

Anonymous said...

It'll be difficult, but not as difficult as you may think.

Show us previous elections in the Bible Belt where your spin proved true.

Anonymous said...

October 29, 2026 at 9:47 AM - Mic drop!!

Anonymous said...

He was a whiner. He was a pandering politician. And he was only focused on one thing - reelection. But how did that work out for him?? (Sounds a bit like Shadster if you ask me.)

Anonymous said...

@2:26 You still didn't answer the question but that's alright.

Anonymous said...

Andy Gipson would have us live in a theocracy if he had his way. He won't get my vote.

Anonymous said...

With those four options, maybe voting blue is the best choice

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.

Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices.
