The residentially challenged can get pretty creative but this is a new one on High Street.
Obviously this is a sad situation but our leaders do nothing while this problem continues to fester.

My cat does the same thing (jump/hide in a box)
The ONLY solution to the homeless problem is to run them off! If we build "resources" for them and give them cash at intersections they will only fester and grow in population. These people are not some innocent little angels that were just "dealt the wrong cards" in life. They choose to do this to themselves and our cities. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Tell them to get the fuck out of here!
A LOT OF THE churches downtown and non profits have homeless programs and keep them satisfied. We support them so of course they are going to just hang around. Its a complicated situation because if a leader just rounded them up and kicked them out im sure some libs would start crying or suing
The people asking for cash at intersections are far from homeless.
Previous posters will be the first to cry out that we are a Christian nation!
To me this is second biggest issue facing Jackson. Number 1 is murder. You will never have businesses thrive in Jackson as long as these crack heads are around stealing and breaking stuff. High Street is becoming their favorite hangout now. They are homeless by choice not because they have run into hard times unless you consider hard times include smoking crack
The federal government should build a facility in every city with a homeless population to house and feed these people. Nobody knows the trauma these people have suffered and they need free mental health counseling with good therapists and psychologists and psychiatrists and medication and then and only then will the problem be solved. The Untied States government created this problem and they need to fix it!
Got alota miles on those socks
Just waiting for the shower power to feed/cloth and bathe them. Every day for eternity. But as long as you get to put it on Facebook you’re doing a good thing right?
So you’re going to complain about churches trying to help the homeless but your solution is to round them up and send them somewhere else for someone else to deal with? Yes, keep telling yourself that it’s the liberals who are the problem.
The fine “Christian” attitudes of the Trump class in full display in this comment section. May your lips always be orange as you kiss the feet of your god king. Praise be to fat Don.

Somebody here seems have done a lot of statistical analysis of the homeless in Jackson.
Maybe he could share his research data with the rest of us.
10:53- biggest problem in Jackson is revenue. 2nd problem is infrastructure & 3rd is housing. Fix these and all others will take care of themselves!
Virtually all Democrat- led cities suffer from these circumstances.
I agree
@11:09 my tiny violin plays my heart cries for them
@ 10:24 - Run them off to WHERE, exactly?
Don't choke on this narratives koolaid.
These people even have a website to find where the best freebies are around the US. They access this with their smartphones. Feed them/bath them, they will come.
Pretty easy to not be homeless. Just don’t do drugs and if you become mentally ill just fix it. There are meds out there. It’s literally that simple.
Not all of these people are addicts and/or mentally ill. That is a narrative pushed by the bleeding hearts and lefties who benefit financially from this. Many of these people are just lazy and can survive off the freebies.
10:56 a.m. - Explain how the federal government created homelessness?
You know, there's an actual reason the park service and others post "don't feed the bears" signs in the forest.......
We need to get them help but also get them out of downtown. With good interstate access and location, Metrocenter is perfectly suited for a facility to meet their needs combining all existing shelters. Something along the lines of Jackson Medical Mall.
May 1, 2026 at 11:29 AM, he's no big guy getting his 10 percent off of the top, but we'll keep him anyway.
They are lazy drug addicted crack heads
Any help that isn't connected to work is a losing proposition.
11:29 AM, the proper Christian position can be found in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, if they don't work, they shouldn't eat. That shoe fits you, too.
True 11:29.
Captain John Smith (of the early 1600's colony of Jamestown, Virginia) quoted that same scripture rather effectively to the lazy men of Jamestown.
“He that will not worke, shall not eate.”
I watched a guy roll a kitchen rack with shelving complete with a microwave and maybe an air fryer up old Canton toward briarwood liquor store….looked like it was fresh out of a restaurant
Taken out of context. Jesus leaned toward helping the most vulnerable. A lot (not all) of these homeless are off their meds and have serious mental illnesses or their brains are fried beyond repair. They don’t choose to be homeless, but in many cases previous choices did lead them to this situation.
HOmelessness is a huge problem. Maybe we should consider bringing back the CCC Camps to bring them into a defined area and then provide drug, alcohol, and job related services.
You people need to gain some perspective. Nothing less than the Supreme Court of the United States says now that we cannot gerrymander congressional districts such that they favor the election of a candidate based on race. Let that sink in: we can't elect someone based on race anymore. So some guy sleeping in a box somewhere isn't a big problem, as anyone can plainly see now.
"Taken out of context", for that to be true, the previous verses, would not be about the same subject, neither would the scriptures after the verse, but they do concern the same subject. From 2Thessalonians 3:6-18 are all on the same subject. That subject is the teaching of Paul concerning the way that the members of the church should conduct themselves.
2Thessalonians 3:8, Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you. The Apostle Paul is saying here that he showed the way to conduct themselves, by working, and making your own way.
2Thessalonians 3:12, Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. The same subject, working, and eating your own bread. The scripture was not, is not, out of context.
You're right, brother. They should do a study on the subject to see how various forms of governance work in a real life experience. Capitalism is the only form that will work.
5:34 Let this sink in: You can absolutely elect a candidate based on their race. You just can’t redraw congressional districts so that they favor people of a certain race. Nor should you be able to do so.
There are so many heartless comments on this post.😞
Where is his guest’s room?
Just thinking (oops, sorry) out loud here, but maybe, just maybe, not all "homeless" people are "homeless" for the same reasons. Continuing in that thinking (oops, I did it again), maybe, just maybe, it cannot be addressed much less fixed by a single one-size-fits-all method. As with so much in life, the solution for those who are making choices (versus unable to make them) is to make the consequences commensurate to the choice made. For those unable to make reasonable choices, choices will still have to be made. It will be up to those who must step in and make them to make their own choices. "Objective," "practical" and "human compassion" should be components. What private groups wish to do, as long as it does not enlarge the problem, should be up to those that provide the funding to them.
