Just when you think Bennie Thompson can't go any lower, he does.
An Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, ambushed and shot two National Guard soldiers, Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe, on November 26 in Washington DC. Beckstrom later died of her injuries.
The Justice Department charged Lakanwal with first-degree murder.
However, the Mississippi Congressman just could not help himself and called Beckstrom's murder "an unfortunate accident" during a Homeland Security Committee meeting yesterday. Watch Bennie Thompson in action.
Despicable. Even more despicable is when given the chance to do so, Bennie Thompson refused to correct himself.
Bennie Thompson's remarks yesterday should come as no surprise to those familiar with his history. He was part of a group of black leaders who defended the actions of a New Republic Africa group when it killed a Jackson police officer, Lt Louis Skinner in 1971. They claimed violence was justified when the police allegedly used brutality and overwhelming force "to serve warrants." Earlier article. Police found bombs and weapons at the RNA site.
This is the same Bennie Thompson who tried to strip a President of his Secret Service protection. A President who was later shot and the target of another assassination attempt.
Congressman Bennie Thompson established a culture in his office so racist, so militant, his employee posted this on social media after President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Congressman Thompson rehired Marsaw earlier this year after the heat die down. Employees don't make these remarks publicly unless they think the boss is ok with it and by his actions, Bennie Thompson showed he is more than ok with it.

He is and has always been despicable.
I got to give the guy credit. He holds nothing back. Every time he opens his mouth, we hear a new endorsement of evil, hatred and stupidity. This leaves no consideration for any good in Bennie Thompson, except his remaining time on this planet is shorter than it was yesterday. One morning we will arise to hear of his departure. The world will then be a better place.
It is a struggle to remain relevant, and a non-entity like Baron Bennie of Bolton has to do something from time to time to get people to think he is, like, important or something. I just hope Baron Bennie doesn’t come out against gerrymandering. That might make him look like a hypocrite or something.
