Update: The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Kristi Johnson
A second judge might recuse himself from U.S.A. v. Rudolph J. Warnock. WLBT reported:
A second judge is now considering whether he should recuse himself in the criminal case for Rudy Warnock and Cleveland Anderson. Last week, U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate recused himself in the case for the two former Canton officials, citing a conflict of interest with some of the witnesses that were expected to be called.
The case was reassigned to Judge Carlton Reeves via random draw. However, at a status conference on Monday, Reeves told those in the courtroom that he also could have to recuse, citing a professional relationship with attorney Lisa Ross, one of the witnesses for the prosecution.“She [has been] on my court-ordered recusal list from the day I joined the court, primarily because of relationships, financial, when I was in private practice,” he said. “She also has represented relatives of mine. That was the basis set forth in the earlier order....Rest of article. If Judge Reeves keeps the case, he will have to hold the trial next year since his calendar is already set for the year.

Can’t wait to see the witness list!
Justice delayed is justice denied.
Why did Wingate wait until now to recuse himself. I mean he knew all along about his ties to the two witnesses he was going to hear from. Now we have another recusal. Makes one wonder how many people Rudy may have paid off.
Rudy has wood on a lot of people, right?
Damn 5:17 - keep up. Read the previous reports, and pay attention to the details included.
Wingate recused last week because the two sides presented their witness lists, in preparattion for the trial next month. When he got the witness lists, there was one (or more) names on it that caused him to recuse. It has not been disclosed who the witness was, but prior to that time the Judge had no reason to recuse 'earlier' as you feel that he should have done
Wingate built a dike to protect Jackson from Lumumba. I am grateful for that Judge.
This guy must have a photo album that is beyond belief. I've never seen so many judges running for the tall grass.
Tick- tick- tick
Getting curious about this witness list that has two judges spooked. Who all did Warnock work for? What are we missing here?
If that's Rudolph in the photo, he sure has changed. Bankruptcy and hidden assets tend to change a man.
Five years from now all them witnesses gone be dead.
The post includes the information that Lisa Ross is the reason for recusal.
Just how many folks did Rudy have in his pocket?
The reason for the recusal of both judges is clearly stated in the two posts/articles. Either some folks don’t read before posting, or they have a reading comprehension problem.
I can only assume based upon many years of experience in matters like this that there must be some high ranking politicians are on the witness list. Warnock was always running with politicians and heavy hitters. Time will tell.
I don't know about high-ranking, but I'm sure no elected official on the county payroll is going to get involved. That would, for sure, lead to cross examination. And at least three of 'em are 'clenched up' anally.
Old Rudy is going to torch the whole house you watch
I am not one, but seven entwined,
In halls of thought and shadowed mind.
Rhodes bore stone, and Rula flame,
Hester whispered guilt by name.
Waggoner drove dreams through dust and clay,
Mary wept, then turned away.
Furr cloaked truths you dared not see,
And Adam held the final key.
Who—or what—am I?
