I've been listening to country radio for 60 years and never heard of him.
He is pretty good. Country radio mostly plays softy country music, because most folks are not really country rural folks. If you ain’t country you will not like him.
12:03 Because you're listening to country RADIO. This is real music, not formulaic, weepy, corporate-approved crap. He also really doesn't fit the mold of the country genre. Give him a listen and I bet you'll join us.
I haven’t heard of him, not to say he isn’t good, but I really miss the old country. Yes some were quirky and some were known to be addicts and/or alcoholics but their music was definitive to each “artist” by their style and appearance and personality. When you heard them you could determine who was singing by their voice. I cannot tell these new singers from one another because they all sound alike. Not a bad thing, but not a good thing either.
You might hear Cody on Sirius/XM on Outlaw Country. My nephew turned me on to him. I've seen him at City Hall Live and he opened up for Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Amphitheater a few years ago. Solid band and solid tunes. If you're in to bro-country he's not for you, but this guy has made it without being mainstream.
We could argue back and forth all day about who's country, who ain't, what's real vs what's new, who paid their dues and who never heard of much less stepped inside a Silver Eagle.
I'll skip all that and just leave this rite-chere.

Best country out there!
7:18, this is 12:03. You grossly misinterpreted what radio I listen to. I did go look him up and meh, I'd change the station and find some good country instead.
“Honey we got both kinds of music here, country and western.”
YouTube his song I’m Not The Devil (title track to his earlier album) and it’ll set you down.
I have it on my iPhone, a real Texas artist.
It's Country, I can tell by the hats.
Truly, video killed the radio star.
What the hell is 'Bro-Country'?
I suppose it's just another term made up by somebody who believes himself to be Real Country, perhaps of the John Deere Green generation or the generation that believes a heavily tattooed Australian is reflective of American Country Music.
Or maybe it's time for real country music fans to get WOKE and accept a new, descriptive pronoun.
Standing by for the 'Boomer Insults' in 3..2..1
Bro-Country = anything on 102.9.
Sirius XM Outlaw is NOT country music. If anything, it's 'tailgate weed' with Taco Bell.
@11:36 we know you’re the Billy Ray Cyrus boomer and it shows.
Best news I've read.
