Deal of the Day

Palmetto State Armory has a sweet deal on the SAR9 through the end of the week.  The price does not include a $30 rebate.

As always, the gun must be shipped to an FFL dealer.  The list of local FFL dealers appears when purchasing the gun on the website.  Podcast sponsor Guns N Gear is on the list.

I can't tell you what the transfer fees are but it wouldn't surprise me if some of them waived the fee if you bought the holster and ammo from them.

The Turkish-produced pistol received good reviews across the board.  Some reviewers said the trigger started a little rough but improved after a few hundred rounds or using 125 grain bullets.  They all said it was accurate and could hold its own against competitors.  The gun comes with three different removable HK-style grips.  There is an ambidextrous thumb safety on both sides.  The SAR9 meets NATO standards.

Perfect truck gun for a niknar redneck to leave in the center console of his unlocked F250 waiting for a JPS middle school drop out to snatch and use to murder his baby mama’s boyfriend.

Do you just obsess over being able to make that type of comment?

@Kingfish
In the 1980s and 1990s it was Norinco
Then it was the S&W Sigma 9 followed by the S&W SDVE 9
And now the cheap Turkish guns are flooding in and thugs are finding them.

You ever wonder why these punks never have an FN or Kimber?

you only have two hands.
how many guns do you need to feel safe?

Only $250? I just bought one for the heck of it. Does have good reviews.

You forget how cheap CZ was when the Iron Curtain fell and trade opened. Was that a crap manufacturer?

The Russian made AK's and SKS's were pretty good quality (unlike the stamped Norincos)

It is a personal matter. Worry about yourself and seek counseling for your need to control others.

Do a little research before you trash this pistol. Developed for military contracts and apparently "won" some. Well made, reliable, a couple high end features (grip inserts for adjustable fit, adjustable sights, ships with two 17 round mags). Recent (some negative 3 or 4 years ago) reviews have been very positive, including almost 100% reliable with all ammo, and much more accurate than expected. I bought two of them from Palmetto. Only can get one rebate. Mine do not have the "red" insert on the grip. Shot one. Very, very nice for a full size, striker fired pistol. Trigger not horrible, and for me, better grip angle than a Glock. Free shipping so $219 net plus FFL ($25).
My only gripe is Kingfish publicizing this. Please let folks find their own gun deals and stay off of mine, you can see nobody appreciates it anyway.

Just found a perfect hiding place in my 2006 Toyota Tundra. Had this truck for 15 years & just discovered it. The dashboard opens up right above the glove compartment. WOW! I put my order in today. Thanks, Kingfish

You sound…. triggered

@2:05, It was just a question and not a challenge to your rights. You sound awfully triggered.

What could be better than supporting the Turks? They are ethnically cleansing (code for genocide) the Kurds. They have a long rich history of murdering non-combatants: Armenians, Yazidis, Greeks, their own people. Yeah, I want to support those folks. What do I care about sending money to despots?

I'm sticking with Colt, S&W, Ruger, Springfield Armory, etc.

But thanks for the great tip. Asshole.

What about SKS, AK-47, M-N, or gasp, Lugers?

@5:46 PM - I doubt that you have ever been to Turkey. I have, at least 10 times. If you used the same logic with Germany we wouldn't have any Mercedes, VWs,...

The Turkish people (not the current ruling party), but the people, are amazing, hospitable, handshake is their word, gregarious, and I could go on and on.

Yes, the current group in control are jerks, but they aren't making the pistols, nor great shotguns.

Put away your broad paint brush.

Saw a sign on 49 hwy AR-15, $600. Don't know if that is high or low.

Decent. Depends on brand. If SW or Ruger, jump on it.

KF revealing a stunning lack of firearm knowledge with his comments

The SKS was without a doubt the most prevalent firearm of North Vietnam forces and the VC they supplied in I Corps back in the day. And those weapons were usually strip clip loaded but terribly effective when the shooter was well trained. They were certainly more immune to local conditions and and rough use than the M-16s that were forced on us in 1969. Bent guide tubes, plugged guide tube vents, rounds jamming in the receiver, etc. Damn all the extra rounds we could carry because the were lighter. If you got a ONE POP and jam Colt would have advised us to through our loaded magazine.

How much did Robert McNamara profit from M151A1s and M16s?

lol@Kingfish
You should really stop recommending guns to people. $600 will get you a ”decent” upper receiver. The only thing of value you will get out of a $600 AR-15 will be the lower receiver. After you replace the shitty “Mil-spec” trigger, the garbage phosphate BCG, the awful barrel and gas block, you will have spent the same as a good rifle. Why be cheap to begin with?

Kingfish said...

I forgot I was messing with the gun snobs.

The trigger on the Sporter sucks. Thankfully Ruger's Elite trigger is a nice substitute. Of course by the time you replace the parts on the Sporter with an ergogrip, Magpul stock and handguards, and elite trigger, you've spent several hundred more dollars. That $600 is a starting point.

I'll just wait till the shooting starts. There will always be a few guns up for grabs laying around between the dead bodies. It's not personal, it's strictly business.

Where the hell have you been?

I prefer Turkish rugs to Turkish guns.

It's more important to be proficient with what you have instead of flexing Gucci gear on the Grams.

There will be plenty of Knights and Hodge on the ground after their owners get yeeted by a Bear Creek Arsenal rifle and a ninjaboi shooter.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
