Always felt trying to stop Covid with a mask was like controlling mosquitos on your porch with chicken wire.

Anonymous said...

but the left and mainstream media tell me that masks protect me from corona virus so it must be true!

Anonymous said...

The letter says no “randomized control trials” — it doesn’t say there were no studies. Those links are to articles that mention studies that have been done regarding masks and preventing the spread of disease.

At a minimum, masks are a reminder that there’s a killer virus going around and not to be a douche. Too bad so many need this reminder.

Per some idiot on the Internet, you’re all idiots.

@6:28 Bangladesh as a control?? No. Why go halfway around the world to perform this study?

6:59, but the right tells me not to trust the CDC. So, the irony is rich that this tweet cites the CDC, and who knows whether it’s anything the CDC actually said as opposed to something this guy or some other “freedom fighter” just made up and decided to tweet.

Posting lies is not “equal time”

I’m not sure if I’m supposed to know who this dude is…I’ll say this though KF, you often post obscure shit like this with the notion that many folks will recognize it for what it is. The problem is most of us haven’t a clue of your actual intentions. The only thing I can glean from this post is that you like to stir shit up and ensure folks truly believe the shit they read on Facebook. We rally are living in a time when the first amendment is in danger. Not because of government overreach as the law intends. It’s because of the fucking internet. People are just too fucking stupid. That’s not something new. The internet just wasn’t an issue when the bill of rights was inked.

The actual FOIA request screenshot at the tweet (https://twitter.com/tomselliott/status/1435957090686750721) appears to be rather poorly worded unless the FOIA filer wanted evidence for a straw man argument.

Furthermore, I doubt that any ethical researcher would either propose or get approval to conduct any randomized controlled trial involving masks in the midst of the current covid pandemic.

Thus anyone asking the CDC for such studies as "Do they have a randomized controlled trial proving that cloth face coverings stop the spread of virus" mask wearing works either doesn't understand ethical medical research or just wants some cheap talking points for disinformation.

People don't wear masks and positive test rates go up and when they do wear masks and rates go down.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

if one has stage 4 cancer and while being driven to a hospice their ambulance crashes and that person dies. is their death reported as cancer? no. will that mean that the stats for that type of cancers mortality goes down?

statistics can be manipulated. science always changes when there’s a new understanding of reality

news flash- science used to
believe the earth was flat and the sun revolved around the earth.

ever wear a garment of mixed material? eat pork? that also changed…

Next time that I have surgery, I'm going to suggest that everyone in the room take off their masks and be more comfortable and relaxed.

Without freedom of speech, we would not know who the idiots are.

@8:08 the AP fact check doesn't say it's fake, it just says it's missing context. The point is that the CDC had been telling us since April last year that masking absolutely works, and causing people through their pronouncements to be masked through the force of government. Yet all that time they had no record of Randomized Control Trials that showed that they did, and there were multiple studies done before COVID that showed masks had no effect on airborne viruses. Even if they've managed to produce RCTs that support masking now, it doesn't line up with reality. Masking has not stopped or slowed the spread of COVID anywhere. Locations with similar populations in similar areas always have almost the exact same spread, and it's often worse in those areas with widespread masking.

It is fascinating to see how little we understand the scientific process.

If you actually read and try to understand what the CDC says in its studies and not in media soundbites and regurgitations from power hungry politicians, you would find that there is a lot of information that conflicts with the narratives.

Case in point:
This study on Covid cases after a state wide mask mandate was initiated released in March 2021 showed there was no significant relationship between masks and Covid cases reduction. "During March 1–December 31, 2020, state-issued mask mandates applied in 2,313 (73.6%) of the 3,142 U.S. counties. Mask mandates were associated with a 0.5 percentage point decrease (p = 0.02) in daily COVID-19 case growth rates 1–20 days after implementation and decreases of 1.1, 1.5, 1.7, and 1.8 percentage points 21–40, 41–60, 61–80, and 81–100 days, respectively, after implementation (p<0.01 for all) (Table 1) (Figure)." https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7010e3.htm

That's right, a mask mandate only reduced CASES by 1.8% once the mandate had been implemented for 100 days. Of course, this doesn't make it into the narrative.

“Posting lies”- smh. Kingfish, stop following the science. That’s not the goal here.
In all seriousness, I’m encouraged by how many of your readers seem capable of seeing through the narrative. Yes, this is a pandemic with a deadly virus. But almost nothing coming from the govt or media has actually “followed the science”. And it’s separated our society into those who follow in fear and those who can see that we’re not being told the truth. Social media is very flawed, but there’s at least a pursuit of the truth and science to be found there. Too many otherwise smart people have a binary view of the situation- it’s either believe the narrative or you’re a conspiracy theorist w/ tinfoil hat.

I'm done wearing masks, and have been the better part of this year. Most of the idiots that I see wearing them aren't wearing them correctly anyway. So what's the point?!?!

I love this! It perfectly encapsulates how information is twisted/misunderstood, and completely erroneous conclusions are come to.

I would recommend many people on this blog take a good look at this because this is you.

1. He is trying to assert Covid-19 doesn't cause deaths in first tweet (obviously not explicitly stated but the undertones are obvious). What he fails to understand is the major co-morbidities listed are pneumonia/respiratory failure - which are often a direct result of Covid-19 infections, and hypertension which affects roughly 50% of the adult population in USA.

2. "Per the CDC, there is no known study showing masks help stop the spread of Covid" what they actually said "we are not aware of any randomized control trials that show...." because of course there are not! At least not with humans, that would be completely insane. There is one with Mice though. I will say there are pseudo rct's out there but the level of control in them, explaining to people how masks work then getting a self report of their mask adherence back is about is little control as you can possibly have in an rct. However, there is a tremendous amount of observational studies/experimental studies that do show masks help stymie the spread of Covid-19

What you see is someone reading one thing, that 100% does not say what they think it does, then parroting something that lines up with their erroneous views. This is the scourge, outside of blatant misinformation, that corrupts our Covid-19 response

I see people wearing masks. Some wear them below their nose. Some wear them on their chin. Some even wear them on their elbow. These same people will complain how people do not wear masks. I could be wrong but I really think people need to cover their nose if they are going to wear a mask. I don't know of a single person who breathes through their chin or elbow. Not saying they do not, I just don't know any who do.

My friend claims he quit operating under the influence, and hasn't done it for the better part of this year. Most of the idiots he and I see operating under the influence claim they are doing it safely and don't remember causing any accidents or deaths while they are doing it. So what's the point of operating under the influence laws?!?!

Will masks protect against the spread of measles?

9:28 NOW I get it! Too much speech is bad, but less speech is good....provided it's the correct speech (and I'm confident you know which is correct and which is incorrect.) See, I didn't know that, so thanks for clearing it up for a simpleton like me.

All this time, I've been thinking freedom of speech was for everyone. Now I know that, had the framers of the Constitution envisioned some sort of mass communication technology far off in the future, they would have revised that whole ridiculous concept of everyone being able to freely speak their minds. Now I know they would have restricted said speech only to the people who speak the "truth".....and then they would have defined who those people are......... Frankly, we ALL know that too much information is the problem.

Makes perfect sense!

This explains the different type tests and gives all its references

Masks work to stop droplets.
Masks work to hide your emotions.
Masks work to raise the CO2 you rebreathe.
Masks work to transmit disease if not cleaned often and correctly.

Interesting and sad that stupid ignorant people can be made to argue over mask nonsense as they roll up their sleeves to receive syringe-injectable bioelectronic hydrogels.

The most obvious tell that Covid is not the serious issue that we are told is that our chief 'experts' don't wear the mask unless the cameras are on.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
