Nurses ...CNA's et al are walking off the job ! 2 years in the sh!t with no raises and all the sudden you threaten their jobs and mandate them to vax they do not need or want !!!! Just to bring in FEMA and 200 an hour travel help ? Tate needs to find new leaders.

we are #2 in the per-capita covid deaths. come on, MS, we need to ascend to our God-given place of #1 (AKA-last place)! leave those masks off, go to church, bars, clubs...we gotta do it for the Tater!

If they walk off the job, then good riddance. Nursing has been a dog eat dog profession for at least the last 10-15 years, and the only way to raise your pay was to move to other jobs. It has been a thankless role, but if you knowingly enter a field that mandates vaccinations for everything under the sun, you know that it will be for Covid too. If you cannot work in a science based profession and understand the science based vaccination, then I am sure there are plenty of other jobs available to you.

2:51: I think it's more likely burnout and the emotional toll of having their jobs made extremely stressful and difficult because of a completely-preventable overrunning of the healthcare system by the unvaccinated. Healthcare workers' jobs have become impossible, and it's breaking them.

"If you cannot work in a science based profession and understand the science based vaccination....," that about sums it up.

To the moron at 2:51 – Health professionals are not leaving the job because of mandated vaccines. They are leaving because of ignorant folks who won't get the vaccine making their jobs harder than they have to be. At some point, why would you keep beating your head against a wall trying to help people who refuse to help themselves?

Anonymous said...

@2:51pm nurse - get the vaccine or go be a stay at home mom. Free market, your choice (even if it is a stupid one). Wouldn’t want an anti-vax nurse working on me anyway.

Anonymous said...

An easy fix would be to just admit these vaccines have been rendered useless due to variants due to it being created in a lab. Woof Woof says the doggy off the leash !

CNAa are not science based professionals... they are not even professional. That said, they are the backbone of skilled nursing facilities and heroes. Many are hearing that the vaccine is the mark of the beast from the pulpit. If that's what they believe, so be it. They shouldn't be forced to get the vaccine. None of us should. The majority of CNAs in nursing homes have received multiple/significant bonuses and raises anywhere from 30-50% in the last year and a half. I'm amazed that 100% of CNAs didn't quit for the $835 per week unemployment last year, but many did... can't blame them. Most nursing facilities are still dependent on price gouging staffing agencies and travel nurses to fill the void created by idiotic policy decisions... the vaccine mandate will create yet another void, but this time the void will not be filled and our most vulnerable adults will suffer.

Now kind folks. The 1 million dollar ? question ? is
(1) Do you get the Booster 1st than a flu shot? OR, (2) Do you get the flu shot than the Booster? OR,
(3) Do you get both at the same time?

Anonymous said...

People are DEFINITELY leaving because of mandated vaccines.

@3:22p- The only anti-vaxxers still popping up on my FB newsfeed are local (working) nurses. They don't want the shot! They are willing to keep doing their job, but not at the expense of a forced vaccine with rapidly declining effectiveness.

@3:57, I'm not a doctor but I got my third Moderna last Thursday, after almost 7 months. Thought I was going to die. First shot, no reaction. Second shot, puked when I finished my cardio at the gym the following morning. Third shot, severe flu-like headache, elevated pulse rate, insomnia, muscle/joint aches

My counsel would be to get it, then the flu shot. My plan is flue shot in October, which is my usual time.

If it matters, I am 77, pretty healthy, non-obese, non-smoker, uncontrollably horny.

I am pretty sure every job I have ever held involved dealing with varying degrees of morons.

Of course the moron-stakes are much higher in medicine than in my career, so if the un-vaxxed are making these hard working professionals miserable, I support their right to seek a new job that makes them feel less tortured.

I got the shot but I am not mad at the ones who choose to opt out.

Letting adults deal with the consequences of their own actions used to be allowed.

@3:57pm - If they offer the option where they mix both vaccines in the same syringe for one supershot, I’m gonna go with that one.

Nurses and other healthcare professionals are a bunch of cry baby brats. Life is about choices: if you don’t like your career or can’t handle the stress, leave and do something easier like teaching school. And quit thinking you are equal to those in the military who deal with REAL stress and sacrifice. Y’all sure came out strong with the pity card during this pandemic… poor me blah blah.

PS, I know you won’t post this KF but this is really how I feel….

Who the HELL DO THINK WERE WORKING THE ER'S AND FLOORS at these hospitals when Covid was unleashed on us back in early 2000 A-holes ! Lol, keep on blaming the un-vaxxed all you want. I already know two folks who have died AFTER being vaxxed. Both were beautiful folks but sadly obese. This thing doesn't give a rats ass about who's vaxxed and who isn't.

We prefer coherent questions in the English language.

Could you try again?

@4:37pm - So your anecdotal example of “two folks you already know” that have died of Covid after getting the vaccine means the vaccine is worthless? Good god there are some dense individuals and nurses in Mississippi. I’m guessing you’re trying to get a “religious exemption” to get out of taking the vaccine because something about some aborted fetuses in the 60s and 70s, even though you only attend church maybe once a year on Easter or something. What about the Rubella vaccine all your kids got, and probably the chickenpox vaccine too, why weren’t you screaming bloody and hollering about religious exemptions for them? Because you’re a dumbass spoiled brat and you don’t want someone telling you to do something that you don’t want to do because you’re too stupid to understand it.

Just go be a stay at home mom and home school your kids or something.

We just had two vaccinated people come up positive yesterday. Waiting 3 days for symptoms and take a test. They’ll keep coming up with more variants, and the covid Karen’s will happily comply and cry about others.

Reading the comments, I can't help but wonder how many people don't believe the healthcare system is really at critical mass right now, due to the number of COVID patients.

Taking it one step further, I wonder how many don't believe it's actually going to get worse before it gets better.

@5:14pm - I had two beers yesterday and someone somewhere in the world died of cirrhosis. Must mean that not drinking is useless in stopping cirrhosis, so let’s just keep drinking. The logic of some of you people is literal stupidity. Such is the Mississippi public education system.

518 laying off health care folks or paying them so little they leave the state have consequences

If the nurses at UMMC go on strike, they are subject to prison time and large fine per state law. Shad will be all over this one.

I believe they are telling the truth about the healthcare system being at critical mass currently. What I don’t understand is why the MSDH or whichever health officer in charge of making important decisions waited until three weeks ago to start pushing the monoclonal antibody treatment in an effort to keep people out of the hospital.

According to the MSDH website the treatment has been available since Nov 2020. Seems to me this should have been pushed back during the January surge in cases when the death count was even higher. Yet here we are flailing around again when we could have been using this treatment all year.

Not utilizing the one early treatment permitted by .gov makes me wonder what the motivation is?

Anonymous said...

@5:59am - If you’d pull your head out of your ass and come up for air once in a while, MCA treatment has been pushed for MONTHS, at least before/during the December/January wave.

Here is an interesting article on the subject.

5.59 ......money and who is making it is the motivation. Now that the Covid cat is out of the bag it's time to push the VERY expensive alt treatments to continue the money train. Imagine if Dobbs et al have stock in zinc vits ?

Anonymous said...

I know for a fact they you’re definitely wrong about that.

The monoclonal antibody treatment have not been pushed heavily at all until August. If they had been pushing this treatment early in the diagnosis we would not be in the situation we are in right now.

I’m glad someone finally woke up. And as a result the case count has gone down slightly as of this most recent reporting.

5:13 ...Didn't say the vax was worthless. I said Covid doesn't give a rats ass who's vaxxed. The science is in your face and you still wanna blame the un vaxxed.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
