Sunflower County Coroner is earning her keep. I think she needs a raise.

Inmates will continue to kill until their demands are met. These are not suicides!!! Attention We Do Not Negotiate!!! Take all non-violent inmates out of the prison system( send back to their respective counties, pay per day for stay). Put all your resources on the violent population and regroup.

What you are doing ain’t working! Get off your asses, disband all committees and go to work.

Or you can lock the guards out side the gate and let the inmates kill and burn down the prison. Y’all ain’t doing shit! I am no inmate lover, just sick of the rhetoric.

What did he have on Hillary said...

Inmates are just dying to see the coroner.

Five years. Damn! He would have been out (relatively) before too long and could have started fresh. Hate to hear this.

What a shame that Chris Epps isn't amongst the Parchman residents. Instead, he is basking in the Seagoville, TX sunshine at a minimum security ClubFed until 11/33.

Serving 5 years for armed robbery WOW!!!

And there's only $1,000,000,000 in reserve funds with the legislature....

If Obama was still President. State officials would having Federal Charges. Similar to what James Meredith had. And if you don't remember James Meredith, he was the Ole Miss Student that hung a noose around the Medger Evers Statue. He served time in Federal Prison for this.

Correction to my last post, that was Phillip Harris that went to Federal Prison

I guess Taters speech didn’t instill confidence in the convicts.

Frankly Scarlett I don’t give a damn

This is beyond ridiculous. Hopefully the emergency motion for the feds to take over that was filed in the lawsuit against MDOC will be successful or at least get some serious movement out of Tater-Tot and his cronies.

No one enjoys the blood letting. The inmates are the sum of their choices. The prison system needs to be used to try to rehabilitate the inmates where possible. The inmates feel hopeless so they resort to killing themselves. Even in the general public you have people killing themselves because they feel hopeless. Prison ministry is a good avenue to give HOPE back to the prisoners. Look heavenly & put your HOPE & faith in Jesus Christ. Read E. Stanley Jones Abundant Living to put your hands around your belief.
Find GOD as something beyond a concept of belief.
Find GOD in the way that he gives spiritual uplift & strength.
Find GOD as a working way to live.
Also, watch on the REELZ Channel (176, 1429) "The Unabomber Tapes". It's a 2 part series on the life of the Unabomber who is serving a life sentence in UltaMax Prison in Boulder. This will give you good insight into a criminal mind. Great Stuff.
I don't mean to get all preachee, all, I'm saying is all people need HOPE.
Do you have HOPe?

"Rehabilition" in prison is a liberals wet dream. Prison mainly does three things:

1. Provides a deterrent to crime for many people, but obviously not all, or prisons would be empty.
2. Removes dangerous and other violators from society.
3. Punishes violators.

Rehab? For a minority of violators who maybe learn a (lawful) skill/trade.

Remember that those in prison already know the consequences of their criminal behavior (incarceration), but offend anyway. Rehab is not in the cards for most.

10:13. You left out number 4. Provides a graduate degree in crime techniques.

The prison "system" in America simply sucks. It treats everybody the same. "one size fits all." The hardened, worthless and violent offender, scum that they are, are mixed in with the "newbies" that have not committed violent crimes or have simply been "normal" folks that just made a single mistake in judgment (e.g., car wreck from going to sleep at the wheel causing manslaughter).

The end result is the contamination and dehumanization of ALL the prison population. Their very survival depends on them giving in to this evil prison gang culture. Just think about that for a minute, and place yourself there.

I ain't preaching that "rehabilitation" is the answer. But, it ought to be one key component of our prison system. I think that education of the inmate population is the most important. We ought to be teaching these folks, non-stop, job skills, and basic life skills, and pounding it in them all day long, day after day. Yes, I know it's hard work for prison administration. But, I'm looking at a cost-benefit ratio that is compelling.

Our "one-size-fits-all" mentality just ain't working. Personally, I believe we need well-run, safe prisons, that focus on the individual prisoners. This is not just for their benefit, BUT FOR MINE! I want them to have some kind job skills to offer when they get out so they can make a living. Otherwise, they're gonna come looking at my house or in my car for something to steal, just so they can eat. Right now, while in the big house, they sharpen their skills to be better at crime, and almost always end right back in prison. Our prison system is generally pretty shitty, but it does a damn good job of taking "simple" criminals and turning them into "major" criminals. That's the reality.

You can dress up treating prisoners right and all that with all kinds of moral values and religious tenants. But, at the end of the day, I want a new system for MY BENEFIT! Not theirs.

First - this is a tragedy. But second (and probably more important), is why aren't we more concerned with people on the OUTSIDE of prison that commit suicide? People have way more concern for the life of the criminal. just saying...

Why did Philbilly and his clan wait until the very end of his term to declare an emergency at Parchman? Then make a secret deal with a private prison company to house these prisoners at an absurdly high rate? Where’s his MDOC Comish Pillisha going to work?

The wheels turn slow in Government when law abiding citizens need services. So I guess the inmates/ convicted are shit out of luck. They are not a priority, but if you owe taxes our Government will work fast and efficient to collect.
I ain’t going to knock the Government Officials on this prison issue, cause I’m more concerned about our children’s future than inmate needs or wants!
All I can say, the last man standing at the penitentiary will be easier to manage. Let them knock each other out! Maybe the word will get out that prison ain’t so glamorous!
I just don’t know what sane person wants to smell ass all day and continue to come back to prison. If you think you won’t get raped don’t fool yourself, these animals are waiting for you.

Signed,

A Former Corrections Officer

Look. I was sentenced to 2 years on a minor drug possession charge and did 4 months at CMCF before paroled. The law I was sentenced under has been changed. The law for me was possession of cocaine under 1/10th of a gram. When I went up against this law that amount could go either misdemeanor or felony. The guy in front of me obviously didn’t have a pot to piss in nor.. you know the rest. He received misdemeanor, six months probation and $50 fine. I had a lawyer and some money to pay to the system. I was bled to the tune of $6800+ before I could not provide any more to the system. The court dates, having my name in the paper, and published humiliation cost me my job and all subsequent chances to be free. I was given the choice of 2 years(25%) or 5 years on paper with all dismissed after 5 years. Knowing how the system will consider a traffic violation enough to consider you a violator and have you face 5 years, I took the two years flat. Now I am a felon. The law I was sentenced under was changed July 2016. I now have to spend $5k plus to have what the legislature has already deemed a misdemeanor changed to a misdemeanor or expunged from my record. I don’t know really why I put this out there for all to read except to say not all who are convicted deserve their punishment as determined by the state. Maybe their punishment was too much for them to bare. I don’t know but I do know injustice exists in Mississippi.

And some believe it’s irony that Fisher and Hall left just 48 hours before this uprising and deaths starting occurring behind the walls of DOC! Not hardly. They knew they were 1000 Correctional Officers short. They knew that 75% were female guards. They knew most were gangsters. They could not even classify the gangs of the population. They knew the cell doors would not lock and there was no order inside Unit 29. Along with countless other things. No irony.

5:55am l feel you, however we make choices in life that the unknown will bite you sometime! There are more animal like inmates incarcerated than that one person that made a error in judgement and was committed. I am no prison advocate however, as a retired veteran, my concern like many law abiding citizens are our children’s future. Our priority ain’t in prisons and the incarcerated!
I just would like for anyone out there thinking about committing a crime, will think twice. Prison isn’t for the sane and ordinary citizen. It a zoo in there and the zoo Officers can’t protect you 24/7. Them freaking animals will bite and even kill you! They are vicious!

We make Choices!!! Crime and prison don’t pay shit.

To our Lawmakers, our children are our future. What can an inmate do? Let them do their time and hopefully they will be productive when they get out. If not, then back to the zoo.

What I’m really saying is Inmate who? and what prison? Oh they did what? Bless their hearts!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
