JPD caught the carjackers of North State Street:
Reginald Chaney-18 and Deonta Branch-18, are in custody and charged with armed carjacking. Both were located at an undisclosed location on Harry S. Truman Dr.
Simeon Rolle surrendered and is charged with armed carjacking as well. Good job, JPD.

Probation? Time served? Apology and a poem from the judge? Time to spin the wheel of Jackson justice.
Hopefully they were able to seize the Keltec and the Kalashnikov.
I remember when car jacking was the mere act of raising a vehicle to change a tire. Now it is a term used to make a criminal act not seem so bad.
As much as folks like to criticize, JPD does tremendous work.
Good job JPD. I don't see how you keep your heads up the way you do with the fools you have running the city and pretending to be judges. My hats off to you.
I hope they learn some sort of lessen since the will probably be back on the street in a week.

I agree. The problem is not JPD. It is what happens after they pull the thugs, dope pushers and gang members off the street.
Thank you JPD, for the tough job that you guys do well!
That's pretty good police work ! Congrats.
Question: Isn't carjacking a federal crime?
Good job catching them. Tell the commanders to loose you guys so you can implement proactive policing so the riding around with guns and carjacking does not accur as frequently
Lee Vance and his administration brought about this community policing which is reactionary. Jackson and Hinds County need proactive policing. That’s how you put a damper on this type of behavior.
This kind of stuff is leadership failure. It’s not on the street officers. They know who needs regulated. They also know they’ll be run up the flag pole by a staff that cares more for criminal’s rights than they do about enforcing the laws.
The crime occurred in Madison County. Won't be any blessings handed down.
Kudos to JPD. For all the flack the Hinds County Justice System, read: cops, DA's, judges etc, get the JPD officers always seem to get their man or men or women or whatever. They cuff 'em and the courts release 'em. These kiddos, however, will not be afforded the protection of the Hinds County courts,
@Coffee and cornbread
Since when is Beasley at State in Madison county?
All charges against Rolle have been dropped after he proved he was at work when the crime occurred.
Correction to my 4:17 post
