Well, Skyhook is whining that everyone took his words out of context when he pointed out violence has happened to politicians who supported data centers last week.
The Jackson Planning & Zoning Committee met Wednesday afternoon at the Hood Building. Although discussion of a proposed data center was on the agenda, the Committee announced prior to the meeting it was removed from said agenda. However, the removal did not stop Tariq Abdul-Tawwab Skyhook and his crowd from showing up to raise hell in protest about data centers.
Skyhook spoke for about a half-hour outside of the Hood Building in a video posted to his Facebook page, Make It Make Sense, Jackson. The community activist said:Jackson doesn’t have to have this! All you got to do is get those few Black folks in there to say no! The same way our water can be ours. All you have to do is get those few Black people in there to reject the lease, but they keep talking about judging links. They want you to concentrate on what they can’t do, cuz they don’t want you to see what they can. But the jig is up. And if... look at this. They fire... I don’t want any of our people to feel like... They firebombed the councilman's house, I believe in Missouri. They voted every single member of the City Council off because they signed non-disclosure agreements over their citizens. The least we could do is make it uncomfortable for these people to move around us while they’re hurting our future. They shouldn’t be able to sit down and eat without a question. Now, you ain't going to put that on me today, I'm saying hurt somebody. They shouldn't be able to sit down and eat without an honest question of, "Shit, what the hell are you doing to us?" We’ve told you we don't want it, Ernie. What the hell are you doing? Who do you see agreeing? What was the point of those three Black councilmen in 1985 that became the first? What the hell were they paving the way for for you jokers to do this?
At least one Council member took the words as a threat. Skyhook whined on his Facebook page his words were taken completely out of context. He stated:
After claims were made that comments about the data center debate raised concerns about violence, Ross Adams of WAPT reached out to request an interview.Despite being on our way to the radio station, which we were transparent about before the interview, we stopped and made time.We answered the question directly. What the public did not see was that we spent the interview explaining that we NEVER called for violence against a single council member, public official, or anyone else.In fact, we said the exact opposite. We encouraged residents to use dialogue, public meetings, public pressure, organizing, and every lawful tool available to hold elected officials accountable.Because that's how democracy is supposed to work. What we DID say is that we believe there is something far more dangerous than citizens asking questions:Removing a moratorium on data centers before Jackson has had the opportunity to study the potential impacts on our water, infrastructure, power grid, neighborhoods, and quality of life. Then the story aired. The claim made the news.None of the on-camera statements given in response to the allegation appeared in the report. If the accusation was worth broadcasting...wasn't the answer worth hearing? If this episode taught us anything, it's that when the public gets only part of the story, it becomes our duty to fight even harder for the whole truth—because Jackson deserves answers before data centers, not after them.Fortunately, our cameras were rolling too.
There were no "claims," Mr. Abdul-Tawwab. You flat out pointed out acts of violence that have taken place against politicians who support data centers. Why even mention it? There is only one meaning for it and it is the language of intimidation. Period. Normally, one might think Skyhook trying to be cute but after watching him in action for the last two years, there is another explanation: He is simply that dumb. Only a fool or a provocateur would make those statements and then claim oh, that's not what I meant.
JJ posted the video as well as a transcript of his remarks in the video so readers could judge for themselves what the local loudmouth meant. A link to the complete video was included in the post, all thirty-three minutes of it.
If Skyhook doesn't want people to think he advocates violence, perhaps he should not refer to acts of violence.
Oh, and since no one wanted to report his side of the story, here is Skyhook's interview with WAPT's Ross Adams.

He’s a low IQ person that thinks he has relevance. But, above all he’s a racist that just wants attention. He represents no one and has no real power whatsoever
His skin color allows him a pass on any hate speech.
Please, Skyhook, stop any and all data centers considering Jackson and Hinds County. Make them go to Madison County. We will gladly accept the tax revenue to protect ourselves from the likes of you and your ilk.
Polo Jr. I expect to see him in prison in the near future.
What a buffoon. Is this the type of leadership that the lefties have now?
Anyone who talks that much is bound to say something they don't really mean.
Loyal adherent within the Lumumba cult.
3:16, Polo may be in prison but please don’t insult him by comparing him to this clown. Polo can be on point with the tea. Blabbermouth here is, as pointed out, a low IQ person who is simply peddling race for dollars.
City let the court decide about the water authority.
While I do think this guy seems kind of nutty, you all should seriously look up the issues with these data centers. There are complaints from property owners near them that they emit noise that never stops. They use an incredible amount of water to keep their servers cool, which often affects nearby property owner's water pressure, reducing it to a dribble. While most of the water these centers use is evaporated, what is left is highly toxic, corrosive water which is an environmental disaster waiting to happen, especially in a state like Mississippi where politicians look the other way or don't ask enough questions, instead they just give tax breaks and brag about bringing in "business."
Skyhook? Skydook?
