Check out this little passage from the Clarion-Ledger's newest cub reporter, Wicker Perlis, in a story about the Jackson garbage fight:
Oh, and Wicker, "must" what?

I weep for our overall lack of grammar, intelligence and humanity.
People are still reading it? I thought the few subscriptions left all complained on NextDoor about not getting the paper delivered.
Y’all know we’re 50th in everything right? Including the folks that decide to stay and work here.
I don’t know why y’all are surprised at this.
Come on folks! Spelling and grammar on this site isn’t always perfect either. I get poking fun at the Clarion but this is a bit nit picky.
@2:49 PM That is so true.
"Spelling and grammar on this site isn’t always perfect either."
Corrected version: "...aren't always perfect, either."
I thought it was "goodest"
Must include roll carts. That's a perfectly correct way of framing that sentence.
@2:49 isn't the bigger issue the fact that the information he's reporting isn't even close to accurate?
"Lumumba supports a bid from Richard's Disposal, which was the lowest and highest scoring overall bid."
- While Richard's was the lowest overall bid, it was not the highest scoring "overall". Excluding 1x week pickups which were ruled out pretty early on (and for which neither WM or Richards had the highest score), WM had the highest "overall" score at 84.2866 for their 2x/week without cart bid (vs. Richards score of 82.8333 for both their bids with and without cart).
"It does not include roll carts though, which a majority of members of the council say the winning bid must."
- not to sound like Trump, but WRONG
"For bids with roll carts, previous vendor WM score higher than Richards, though Richard's was still less expensive."
- I think he means bids WITHOUT roll carts....
Why is it so hard to get the facts straight??
“Oh, and Wicker, “must” what?”, they couldn't finish the sentence and keep the narrative intact.
“Why is it so hard to get the facts straight??”, they can't print the facts, because the narrative is a lie. The facts, and nothing but the facts, will destroy the narrative.
I wasn't aware the Council favors the proposal with carts.
Does this "writer" also write Kamala's speeches ?
@4:56 - He could probably write tweets or “truths” for Donald if he can dumb it down a good bit.
Wicker got the "must" sentence correct.
Come on KF. Give the new kid a break on writing style. It took you a lot of work to sort out this boondoggle. If you really want to be constructive, post some links to your reporting to show him what it‘s supposed to look like.
Wicker, with all due respect, you got this all wrong. Lord help us if you guys can't report the facts accurately.
The City Council does NOT want rolling carts, and Waste Mgmt was the lowest and best bid for 2 day pick up without carts which, again, is what the City Council wants.
Does the Clarion Ledger not have any editors who could and should have picked up on and corrected this horrible misstatement ? Sadly, this is just one more example that the Clarion Ledger has gone to crap.
Is that Senator Roger's new CB handle?
Please tell me we're not about to rehash all this garbage shit.
Well, I could go on all day long about what a piece of shit Jackson’s newspaper is, but I won’t other than to say here that Jackson’s newspaper is a piece of shit, bigly.
Cub reporter indeed. Wicker is a graduate of one of the most respected journalism schools in the country. That might not mean much to the "tree, rope, journalist--some assembly required" MAGA crowd. Nor does it mean that he is perfect or incapable of making a mistake. But for a blogger who doesn't even use his own real name online and who panders to petulant know-it-alls who are here only to throw out their faux outrage behind the wall of anonymity, "kingfish" is some sort of kettle to be calling the pot black.
Normally, when a high ranking official such as a Mayor, is "Hell Bent" on using only a certain vendor, over and over again trying to use this vendor ...... his pockets are getting lined with a kick back. Not sure if this is going on or planned but it's usually a very high possibility. I wonder what kind of pay off the Mayor had lined up for using Richard's. Just a thought .......
