If you notice Lumumba avoids NE Jackson Fondren and Belhaven. He always chooses south west Jackson this time at least it’s hanging moss area
That’s a better educated voter base than what he usually chooses. Derrick will be up there spewing white hate I’m certain

What a group. They are headed to the federal feeding trough! Woo Wee!

You really would expect the mayor to attend his town’s infrastructure forum, but he’s probably at some convention at some upscale resort.

I'm glad that the environment and the climate will also be getting justice.

In related news, local stores have run out of "race cards" to sell to race-baiters.

I'm sure they all know calculate chlorine demand in pounds per day.

Wonder if a clear glass pitcher of water drawn from the building tap will be on the tables for the speakers.

You could put everything that group knows about water problems in Jackson in a thimble and still have plenty of room. These are race baiters. It has nothing to do with water but a lot to do with blaming the white man.

Why did they wait until now to start holding meetings? Oh yeah, no money involved before now. These people have no shame.

Such a diverse and inclusive panel of speakers!

Made-for-TV show because they don't remotely have the votes in the Legislature.

I'm curious why the Title VI Complaint doesn't include the City of Jackson in it. After all, it is Jackson's water system, and it is Jackson who failed to maintain it and allowed it to crash.

It's also election time. Another reminder that the people YOU vote for are never accountable. It's the people those "other folks" vote for who are responsible for everything.

Anything that will provide a means for Jackson residents to shop and spend all of their time in Jackson I'm all for.

I live in Jackson, once again I have very little water, and I was interested in attending this event until I read the flier. Now I see that this isn’t intended for me and I would probably feel out of place if I went. This isn’t about managing our water system for reliable service. This is about a money grab. The money will roll in and be immediately stolen and nothing will improve except the lifestyle of a few of the usual hustlers. In other words… “the usual”.

College Game Day coming to JSU though this weekend...Good right?

Tate should graciously bow out of this cluster. He just say I wish you the best and I am standing by in case there’s anything the city needs from the state that the state normally does for other water systems….which of course is nothing.

Any future requests for state help should not be acknowledged unless it also comes with a Lumumba resignation.

Will anyone mention the Siemens fiasco and the WSBA’s continuing inability to send accurate bills to all customers?

Will waders be issued at the door?

What the hell is ‘climate justice’?

Anonymous said...

The Babylon Bee Dictionary states: “1. Climate Justice – The act of living in mud huts and eating bugs until the cancer of humanity is extinguished and Mother Gaia can live on. Also, any tax can be considered climate justice.” 2. A Trillion Dollars in the Accounts of Friends of Bennie and Antar.

4:12 I googled it after I stopped laughing. It’s a new “movement; after all, climate change “can exacerbate inequitable social conditions.” F*cking A.

Just another day in Jackson. Yes Chokwe did talk @ the state now paying their water bills. I would dare say INVESTIGATE all areas of Jackson who did Not receive WATER BILL OR WHI DID NOT PAY! The disparity is for the Taxpayer WHO CONTINUED TO PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE. RIght? Since Chokwe can take care of the COJ why did the Feds , state & out of state have to come to the aid of the COJ? Right?

This is the job you take when your not qualified for anything else in life… and your able to use your race card on a daily or hourly basis

Held in Hanging Moss area. Not so likely for his honor to get carjacked so close to home. Also he should be better able to stop at the Shell Station to score some junk on his way home after the gathering.

A bunch of people complaining. Q&A session was long, and plenty of people asked questions. Just like y'all could have.

My son lives in NE Jackson. Came home about an hour before the “Town Hall” was due to start, only to find the storm drains belching out milky water, flooding the streets. They have no water currently. Perhaps the esteemed TH panel addressed the issue, but I doubt it…and I doubt they ever will. I told him to drill a well.

What street is your son on in NE jackson

How can the majority population in Jackson claim to be the minority? Shouldn’t the question be whether the black population of Jackson is being treated any differently than the white population? I would say the white population didn’t have drinking water either. Couldn’t flush their toilets either. This is not a matter of disproportionate treatment of blacks - it is a matter of complete incompetence of city leadership affecting all citizens of Jackson, regardless of their race. COJ leadership should be held accountable and the feds should be looking at the use of the federal funds loaned and or granted to the City. Not just today but the last 20 years, beginning with Harvey Johnson.

I would much rather attend a townhall with Kanye West and Candace Owen!

I have two huge problems with this event:

1. EPA is supposed to regulate pollution, not civil rights. EPA's critical function will be undermined by its attempts to do someone else's job.

2. Government meetings should not be taking place in a church. This dangerous for both the church and the government.

The ends never justify the means. Somebody needs to tell this child-mayor "no."

Are you really that naive 12:21 ?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
