Rankin Deputies Recover Stolen Vehicles

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.

Rankin County Deputies have recently implemented new investigative techniques and technology to identify and recover stolen vehicles in the Metro Area.

Over the past two weeks, deputies have identified and recovered 8 stolen vehicles in Rankin County and assisted in identifying and recovering an additional 10 vehicles outside Rankin County.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office is working with other local law enforcement along with state and federal agencies in these ongoing investigations. Arrests are those who actually stole the vehicles is expected in the near future.

The value of the stolen vehicles recovered in Rankin County alone is well over $500,000.00.

As criminals continue to expand their use of technology in committing crimes, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office along with other law enforcement agencies attempt to keep pace with them through communication, training and new tools.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office has recovered the following vehicles:

-         2019 Ford F350 -  stolen from Collins, MS

-         2020 Ford F350 -  stolen from Adams County, MS

-         2018 Dodge Ram – stolen from Jefferson County, MS

-         2019 Chevy Tahoe – stolen from Union City, GA

-         2019 Ford F350 – stolen from Houma, LA

"new investigative techniques" uh huh. sounds like they found a chop shop in Rankin County. Imagine that.

They didn’t however, recover any of the truck guns that the white boys kept stashed out of their irrational fear of black men.

I didn’t think the license plate scanners that the RCSO deploys were new. I have noticed a lot more odd looking cameras around Rankin including on the road outside the entrance to Sheriff Bailey’s neighborhood on Greenfield Road. I suspect the “new techniques” are just more federally funded police state surveillance.

But hey, it’s good ol’ boy Bryan Bailey not Evil Xi Xinping watching us, so it’s okay, right?

Kudos for RCSD. However, I believe someone exaggerated the value of those 8 vehicles. $500K? I don't think so.

@6:13AM they were probably using license readers to track everyone and got a few hits on license plates that were reported stolen.

A (less intelligent) friend was in Jackson last week and had her car broken into.

They called JPD three times, and when they showed up a female cop openly laughed at them as she made the report.

I too laughed at her for putting herself in a position to be at the mercy of any Jackson official.

Thank you Rankin County.

Maybe they can use their new techniques to locate the escaped prisoner.

The technique of blind squirrel finds nut sometimes ?

@8:53
Richland PD picked up the escaped prisoner and took him to UMMC. He was covered in lacerations from the perimeter concertina wire. This was before MDOC reported an escaped prisoner.

One sure fire way to deter a thief is do not buy a Ford Truck/SUV for any reason. Ford has known about how easy it is to steal their vehicles for a while and have not done anything about it.

7:57, what is the deal with those cameras? There is one at the corner of Luckney and Henderson as well as on Hugh Ward. Anyone know? They look like tag readers.

Stankin Rankin.

Normal people who buy a house and move to rankin county are super happy to be free from Jackson’s grasp and crime…..

Until they meet their new neighbors who make meth in their back yard and wear confederate flags and scream the Joe Rogan N word with glee…..

At that moment buyers remorse kicks in and other states start to look more appealing

Tag readers and probably facial recognition too. They want to identify drivers with the biometric data they collect from REAL ID.
The Police State is real in America.

The " new investigative techniques and technology" includes but is not limited to someone walking up to or informing a Rankin County Deputy "Hey, did ya'll know that is a stolen vehicle?"

9:27 while there are some places like that, they are few and far between. Most are rural. Many of your true neighborhoods are good people. But sit in your tower in Jackson and watch it crumble before your eyes.

They should use it in Jackson. The future astronauts were stealing cars in my neighborhood and you can’t get anybody in Jackson to give a crap, so you gotta wander outside with a gun and mad dog these scholars, make them think they could end up on the front of a t-shirt.

I suspect their recent success must be the plate readers at the new Whataburglar in town!

Just FYI when stolen goods are listed the full retail value is given even for shop lifters in store as value of goods. So in other words if you steal something on sale at say Belk that has a retail sticker of $158 but is on sale for less; the shop lifter gets stuck with the full replacement value. Bottom line is if it doesn’t belong to you; Keep your hands OFF!

8:30 go check the price on trucks.

All late model Fords and Chevys. There's a lesson there.

License plate scanners are nothing new or unique. They're everywhere, just like security cameras and cell phones. With these, you should assume yours (and everyone else's) daily activities are being recorded and documented continuously.

Not just LPRs. Hell, your newer vehicle is collecting AND TRANSMITTING about 2 Gb of data on you every hour via telematics. How the hell can you not realize what Korporate America and the Swamp are doing every day? They know exactly where you are and where you've been, and it takes practically nothing to access it.

How about using drones and target, that's right, I said target, certain areas.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
