I forgot the legislature passed this law. It has just been a few years ago I think. Apparently Colom's campaign didn't know about it either. Their defense so far is anything except "it was legal." They messed up and broke the law. Colom's campaign can belittle Cindy for calling them on it, or insult Mike Hurst for bringing it up; but, Colom's campaign screwed up. The campaign screwed up when it said his arrest for contributing to the delinquency of a minor was fake and AI generated when it wasn't; they screwed up when they used AI to generate a fake video of Cindy Hyde-Smith. But I get it, a campaign can't come out and say "we screwed up" especially when it puts someone in legal jeopardy. But this is a good hit by the Republican team, the Democrat team made an unforced error. Tomorrow will be something different.
