Update: The suspect will be tried as a juvenile. His name and mug shot have been removed.
The Ridgeland Police Department issued the following statement.
On September 15, 2026, approximately 17:40 hours, Ridgeland Police Department received a report of a
stabbing at Royal Oak Apartments located at 110 Pine Knoll Drive, Ridgeland, Mississippi. Responding
officers located and secured the area where the incident occurred.
The suspect, xxxx xxxxxxx, age 16, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, turned himself in at Ridgeland Police Headquarters a short time later. He is charged as an adult with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He is being held without bond.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to University of Mississippi Medical Center and is receiving treatment at this time for a stab wound to the upper back.

Crime at an apartment complex, Ridgeland should have had a Queen Mary.
Ridgeland should have never allowed apartments to be built thirty plus years ago. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what happens to most of them once they begin to age. I say this as someone who has lived in apartments for years as a renter and saw the change in clientele.
If Mary were as smart as she has been she'd never allow Spinners to be constructed but that may be the final straw.
The Judge will take him home with him and raise him right! They will only have plastic ware at the dinner table or finger food.
Why are you worried about posting the name of a person charged as an adult, because he's 16 years old. He's an adult by virtue of his crime.
