State Auditor Shad White issued the following statement.
Today State Auditor Shad White announced that Special Agents from his office have arrested Deborah Harper, former Southeast Greene Water Authority office manager, for allegedly embezzling funds belonging to the water authority for her own personal use.
Harper allegedly received cash payments from new customer water agreement forms and would convert the funds for her own personal use. Additionally, Harper allegedly utilized water user payments from other account holders to satisfy the water debt for both herself and her daughter.
“The dedicated team at the State Auditor’s Office will continue to work closely with prosecutors to get record results, one case at a time,” said State Auditor Shad White.
Harper faces up to $25,000 in fines and up to 10 years in prison if convicted. All persons arrested by the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Suspected fraud can be reported to the Auditor’s office at any time by clicking the red button at www.osa.ms.gov or calling 1-(800) 321-1275 during normal business hours.

Shad for governor!
With all the legal and easy ways to make money online (going to garage sales and selling the stuff on amazon/ebay), twitch streaming, youtube videos, etc there's no reason to need to steal from taxpayers/ratepayers.
Alternate Headline: "Auditor Does Job. Frames it as Extraordinary."
Shad anounces that he is running for higher office in 3, 2, 1.
But Shad continues to let the Leflore County Supervisors thumb their noses at him. They must know something about him that he does not want to be made public.
Bring your evidence. It's as easy as 1..2..3
2:27, you don’t think these cases should be publicized as a deterrent? How should a state auditor handle this?
Just think, if she had used the money to construct a volleyball court she would be home free now.
@4:49 a simple Google search gives you this https://www.facebook.com/groups/538128396629137/posts/2425730624535562/ and this

I would wager that even you can do this simple exercise.
When the heat in the kitchen rose to a certain temperature, the president of the college decided to change jobs and vanished. Feel Brant and Mrs Feel, both alumni, skated. So far. But, remember, the State Attorney General saw no issue with the grant or the volleyball stadium.
7:55pm. BINGO. Hard to figure ain’t it?
2:48, that is an irresponsible comment. If the Leflore County BOS “had something” on Shad (a laughable accusation) he would never have gone after them in the first place. He’s done his job as far as that issue is concerned - he found misspent funds and issued a demand letter. I’d say it’s on the AG now to go after the BOS. And the “proof” provided at 9:25 is simply a link stating Shad has done his job and another link where someone was asking if the money had been repaid. So, as 4:49 said, bring your evidence that 1)the BOS has something on Shad and 2) the money has not been repaid. Trolling can be tough, be better prepared the next time you try it.
Shad racked up another one.
Legislature could outlaw cash payments to any government office and reduce embezzlement.
What about Human Services? Where was Shadrick?
