Dear Diary: Why I Hate Ole Miss

Social media is blowing up with the video of an Ole Miss student yapping about how much she hates going to school in Oxford.  Apparently moving to from Arizona to a small town in Mississippi did not agree with her too well. She even gets "triggered" talking about Ole Miss.  Perhaps this post should have been called "The Triggering."

@maggiereccoo it sounds like im complaining but i cant w this place anymore #foru #olemiss ♬ original sound - maggie

Funny part of the video: She gripes about the Library Sports Bar charging a $200 cover charge just to get in. Um, yeah. The $200 "cover charge" is actually a $200 pre-paid annual VIP pass. It allows you to skip lines and pay no cover on game day.

Uh-oh, she used the word "trigger" again. One suspects she gets "triggered" rather easily. What triggered her in this case? Student parking or the lack of it. She apparently ran up $1,000 in parking tickets.

Check out the video as it is pretty entertaining.

Was that Luanne from King of the Hill?

With that attitude it’s no wonder she’s miserable. As Ron White suggested, she should be wondering, “Maybe it’s me?” Good luck in Miami, baby girl.

Whoever decides to move to Oxford only has themselves to blame.

What a bubble of vapid people and “culture”.

Anonymous said...

Apparently, she is one of the out of state rejects that took advantage of the only school in the SEC with a 100% acceptance rate for the out of state rejects. Hence the culture of failure.

Anonymous said...

Seems legit.

Anonymous said...

Has anybody on TikTok told her?

Anonymous said...

How do you spell bimbo?

Anonymous said...

I agree with her. I thought is sucked when I went to school there around the turn of the century, and I haven't been back since!

Anonymous said...

So other than that, how did you like the place? She has a bright future as an influencer critiquing (ad nauseum) the world and future significant others she will encounter. Run Fellas RUN !

Anonymous said...

Sounds like a lil' girl that's pissed because the sorority she wanted to join didn't give her a "bid" ... (invitation to join).

Arizona is a great state. Mississippi is a State of Ignorance.

Anonymous said...

I knew this thread would bring out the insecure Oxford haters. Putting your jealousy on display like that is not a good look.

Anonymous said...

She finally realized what we already knew about Oxford. It’s basically “Grenada without the lake”. Grenada does have a nice lake.

Anonymous said...

I’m sure if you look back through her posts there will be another one just like it stating why Arizona was no fun to attend. Wait about a year and there will be one about Miami.

Anonymous said...

She'll make a great yacht girl in Miami.

Anonymous said...

Hey @Kingfish, can she transfer to LSU with Coach?

Anonymous said...

State alum here, but I wonder if eight visible tattoos and lipstick that looks like a mustache might be a problem.

Anonymous said...

Has she not been to Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Fayetteville, or Starkville?

Her self-esteem is more thin than her nasty looking hair. Glad I’m a boomer after watching that. Beyond the square, Oxford is a dump.

Anonymous said...

Mar-a-Lago lips don't help her personality.

It is obvious which replies are from leghumpers.

Anonymous said...

Ole miss probably didn’t have enough make-up in town for her routine

Anonymous said...

This is why schools get when they accept 99% of all applicants.

Ole Miss isn’t the school they think they are.

Oxford is the dump you know it is.

I lived in Oxford for about three years while in law school. I think Oxford is a wonderful town for families and has a nice academic atmosphere. They also have a very good mayor. However, I agree with the blonde girl that there is not much to do there after you have been in Oxford for a while. The town closes in on you and its a bit smothering. OK, let’s go to the square! The square is unique and is fun when you go there two or three times a year. But the restaurants are overrated, and the price of everything is ridiculous. Maybe we can go to the antique stores and see all of the vintage Ole Miss annuals. In my humble opinion, there is not even one outstanding restaurant in Oxford. Good but not excellent. The permanent residents all know each other and talk about everybody’s business. Our friends who live in Oxford year-round think it’s wonderful but complain that the traffic is unbearable and love it when the school is not in session. So, what would Oxford be without Ole Miss? No, I did not go to Mississippi State. Starkville cannot hold a candle to Oxford as a decent college town. But I have been to Fayetteville, Athens, Knoxville, Austin, Baton Rouge, Nashville, Lexington, Columbia, and Gainesville. Oxford ranks high as a unique little town, but the college towns just mentioned offer a much better overall experience for students than Oxford does. By the way, Tuscaloosa and College Station rank at the bottom of my personal rankings of SEC College towns. Oh, by the way, I have paid for two of my children to go to Ole Miss, and they got a very good education. This post is about the town. It is not about Ole Miss.

When the people who live in Oxford refer to it as “a snow globe town”(not making this up), they are trying hard to make it more than it is. It’s a nice little town in the hill country of MS, but it’s nothing special. There are a ton of students who are there because it’s the best option other than their home state schools which they can’t get in(UT & ATM, etc.). My other favorite try hard to make it more than it is, are the people who try and call Oxford part of the Delta. There really are people out there that believe it is.

Anonymous said...

I told folks this is why Kiffin wanted out after he was there for his second year. If you are out past 10 the cops look at you weird. You cant take a dump without your neighbor knowing that you just farted. The town is in the middle of no place, like stankville and just all around sucks for a town.

Anonymous said...

Also if she DID NOT GO GREEK, well, you are on the outside looking in with NO FRIENDS.

Anonymous said...

Yea, it's true. You can't cure stupid. And trying so hard to be relevant. She will never be relevant.

Yacht girl might not be enough. Something tells me she's getting recruited to Dubai.

Anonymous said...

I knew she was not made for Oxford without having to click the play button. To each his own. Or her own.

Transfers to another school and drops out before first semester ends.
Finds sugar daddy, after sugar daddy, after sugar daddy.
Eventually hooks up with a guy named Rico and develops a booger sugar problem.
Sugar daddies evaporate, life begins inevitable spiral.
Failed OnlyFans career and then working the corner on skid row.

i miss anything?

It's telling when she couldn't even get into ASU.

$100+ dollar cover charges to enter The Library on a game weekend are not uncommon. $60-$80 covers are normal for busy weekends. While the “library card” is $200 for a year, the fact that you can pay that and save yourself thousands of dollars is exactly why that option and the bar stays popular. Oxford is extremely expensive, what I used to pay to spend the night drinking on the square is what it costs just to get in the door at most of the popular bars there these days.

I watched 60 seconds then stopped it, pondering why I had already wasted a minute of my life. I think I need to get off the internet. God bless.

As a response to our "Leg-Humper" friends whose jealousy is blatantly obvious in regard to Ole Miss and Oxford, I am reminded of someone who once made the statement..."The only good thing to come out of Starkville, Mississippi is Highway 82!!!" How true...how very true! :D :D :D

Anonymous said...

Does she realize that she came there to actually, I don't know, go to school? However, I do agree with her about the entitled part. Ole Miss is full of them, and if you're not in a fraternity or sorority it's hard to fit in.

Sometimes a post and its comments remind me that most of you did not attend college and have never felt the touch of a woman.

Until you've lived in different places or stayed long enough while travelling and bothered to be observant, every state has cultural differences that you will like or try to avoid or ignore. I miss the lush green of the South when I go to Arizona but the air is great for my allergies and I love the pottery and silver crafts. I quickly tire of big cities, the noise and bustle begins to grate but oh, the museums and entertainment and shopping!. The best thing in every state I've visited ( yes even in NYC), the natives seem to enjoy our drawl and are especially kind and helpful. Sometimes, they overdo it assuming slow talking and dumb/naive are the same, but they mean well.
Try to find things and people to like and enjoy everywhere you go and DO remember that you might have not been " fully grown" or mature in your youth! I happen to know more than a few of our respected Mississippians and got by doing and saying something stupid while in college! I wasn't perfect either nor am I now! So glad we didn't need to look for cameras everywhere or imagine " internet celebrity" could be lurking everywhere or had to get a lot of "likes" and no deadly criticisms.

She’s hitting the transfer portal as often as she’s hitting the blue polish at nail shop and the bleach at the hair salon.

After watching this TikTok I decided to take a visit to YouTube to check out one of my all time favorite videos, also featuring an Ole Miss coed. The year was 2013, gameday in the Grove versus Texas A&M, when Shelby Herring stole the microphone and had her moment, proclaiming many things including (paraphrasing here) she really had school spirit after a couple of vodka waters.

Haul @$$, girl.....you're not hot enough to suck this bad.

Anonymous said...

The last 20 years of development in Oxford is due to the last gasp of those old guard "rebels" (call it 1978 thru 1990) who long for the Colonel on the field, Dixie being played at the games with a wink, nod, smile at each other. Their children have no desire nor passion for those long gone days where "you never really graduate from Ole Miss".....in 40 years, Oxford will have transitioned to an all black community. You heard it here.

Anonymous said...

The sucker who marries this empty shell is in for a lifetime of misery (and penury). You've been warned.

Anonymous said...

Who dresses like that to make a video that will be seen by thousands of people? (Rhetorical question.)

Anonymous said...

I have to go to Oxford once a month for work. It’s fine. Hotel is Ok, usually eat somewhere on the square.

But I also travel across the southeast and Oxford is nothing more than an average, small southern town.

I would rank Ocean Springs, Biloxi, Hattiesburg, and places like Madison and Flowood ahead of it.

While places like Starkville, Meridian, and any place in the delta are well below it.

I never understood why people who like Ole Miss think Oxford is some great destination. It’s on the middle of nowhere and full of people that actually think they are in some intellectual and cultural gem.

It’s a 3/10. At best.

Anonymous said...

The misery won't last nearly as long as the penury due to the alimony and child support will.

Anonymous said...

Come on! Oxford is famous. There are shoes named after it. They have sole.

....."not made for Oxford"......sigh, you're one of those idiots who says, "We're better because we say we are.....". What a loser cult.

I have only been to Ole Miss twice with 2 friends who were being recruited as athletes. My impression and theirs is that it's a pretty good place if you are "special", a prized athlete or son or daughter of privilege. If you are relative commoner you are less than nothing and probably should go to State USM or JSU or maybe a community college. There you might have a descent chance.

Anonymous said...

This is why you never go to a school in a town you’ve never visited. She should have humiliated herself and pledged some ho ridden sorority. And yes, Jackson Ave six’s. Especially when the coeds are getting their beer to go from the drive in window of a c store

I don't know how they wood know, but they would know.

Geez, what a witty retort (eye roll).

She should fit right in, thinking she’s better than anyone else 😳😳😳

Anonymous said...

It could be her opportunities to be admitted as a trsansfer were limited to somewhere like Ol Miss where daddy's money and a regular heartbeat are the ceiling and not the floor.

Anonymous said...

She moved across the country to a university site unseen? She’s probably just pissy that she might be a 7…well, bye

If you are not getting stoned everyday and drinking for oblivion every night while snorting powder cocaine then you shouldn’t go to Ole Miss.

For an OM coed, it all boils down to how you look, in a ponytail, jogging on the city streets.

And the guys, attempting to emulate Mississippi State Sophomores have converted to boots and pickups.

Too trashy for Oxford....say it ain't so.

The brightest among us all are the lawyers who graduated OM-Law back when they didn't have to take or pass the bar in order to be licensed. And that is scary. You can identify them by their constant use of the 'word' leghumpers.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
