Check out Every Man a Coach by Louisiana Governor Huey P. Landry.
Since the people in Rio Linda won't understand the cartoon, here is the explanation. Ballard is LSU Board of Supervisors Chairman. "O.K." was nickname for Huey P. Long's Lieutenant Governor, O.K. Allen. Long's autobiography is Every Man a King. Verge is Verge Ausberry, the newly-minted Athletic Director. The gentleman in the 1930's era white suit is Governor Jeff Landry.

The Gov is responding to the priorities of his constituents. It's Louisiana and he wants to be relevant. He doesn't have the personality of Huey or Edwin Edwards but he's trying.
Seems the Hotty Toddy tribe is running the table.
I seriously doubt Lane will leave Oxford ... but if he he does , I can't see him or any other quality coach going to that schit-show in Baton Rouge.
5:33 you an old mf’er if you know about Long’s personality. Bless your heart.
The governor made it interesting but all of us in BR knew Woodard was gone before the next coach got hired ! He struck out on two coaches, it was time to pull him.
Back in 1980 while at Callaway HS, we were assigned to do a report on a historical American figure, with two exclusions- it couldn’t be about JFK or MLK. Not because the teacher (Mrs. Anne Booth) had anything against those two, she had just grown tired of reading and grading countless reports on those two.
I had recently come into possession of the Good Ol’ Boys album by Randy Newman and decided to do my report on The Kingfish. I went to the library at the corner of Northside and Manhattan and checked out several books. I got an “A” and a compliment from Mrs. Booth for choosing someone no one else had before.
Baton Rouge is as Bad as Jxn, ck out any BR TV stations news!
or we watched his speeches on Youtube and read T. Harry Williams book about him.
