What is it about Little League baseball that brings out the worst in people?
Parents and children were stunned after a violent brawl broke out between an umpire and a coach during a youth baseball game in Rosemead.
The fight occurred at Rosemead Park Fields on Aug. 24 as dozens of children and families were watching the tournament.
Witnesses said the assistant coach had approached the umpire multiple times, visibly upset about a call in a previous play. When the umpire ejected him from the game, the coach reportedly spat in the umpire’s face and yelled, “You’re a f***ing little b****!”
The umpire dragged the coach to the ground and attempted to kick him before both men attacked each other as they scuffled on the ground. Bystanders ran over to break up the fight as stunned children and parents looked on....
The youth baseball organizer, Herman Baca, released a statement saying, “Unfortunately, an umpire and coach fought during a game this past Sunday. Both parties were removed from the game and local enforcement arrived to handle this matter. … Article

There’s usually only one thing that can make otherwise sane men more stupid, than sports.
Turns out the ump wasn’t the b***h. One of my employees is a youth ump as a side gig. He gets like $40 a bottle of water and a cheeseburger per game for his efforts. Absolutely zero reason to ever give those guys any crap. They are doing a community service
I still have a video of a parent getting in a fight with an under 12 soccer referee and other parents in Brandon, years ago. He may still be in jail. I've got a temper but managed to never let it get to that level.

And the some of the chants "ump's gotta go," because I guess he was something like the police.
Late August out there watching little Johnny underachieve while dad is living the dream vicariously…tempers be HOT as the field temperature.
No parent from Rankin Country should be allowed to attend any games, any sport, if the children are under the age of 22.
Too much importance is attached for sports. It is just a kids game. Even when adults play, it is still just a kids game.
The poster that comes here continually denigrating the state population about weight, and behavior has some apologizing to do.
As a baseball umpire with over 55 years experience, you got to keep your cool on the field of play no matter what!!!! I have called everything for T-Ball to Division 1 baseball and NEVER had to raise my hand to a coach or player! I call only high school games only. Summer league baseball has "NO SECURITY" for summer umpires!!! The umpire in this case was totally wrong no matter what the coach did or did not do!
Small-minded adults are the ones starting this kind of stuff at little league games.
At least in this 'brawl' they actually threw punches that connected, and even got in a good kick or two; unlike watching the bitches in downtown and west Jackson who do nothing effective but pull hair and tear off clothes.
Exhibit No. 12,296 in my petition for a moratorium on organized sports for a full decade. Y’all need to get lives and put away these bullshit boy games.
You're out of your damn mind. Self-defense is self-defense, that coach is lucky to be alive.
Spitting on someone in California constitutes a criminal offense, specifically a misdemeanor under California Penal Code 242 (battery) or Penal Code 240 (assault). The act is considered a form of battery because it involves unwanted physical contact through a bodily substance, or it can be assault if it creates a fear of further harm or a general attempt to apply force. Penalties can include jail time and fines, and charges can be filed even if no bodily injury occurs.
Umpire 100% in the wrong here. Not a question about it. Yeah, the coach yelled and called him a name. But his first instinct is to throw a punch. Garbage human being. I don't care about "donating his time" or whatever. That doesn't give him a pass to swing. I've been kicked out of a few games. I deserved each one. I was talking back to an official. I never resorted to a right hook and a rib kick on the ump. (Sometimes I did wish he would have swung first, though, if I gotta be honest)

And in California Spit Causes Cancer in Laboratory Animals & Un-Wed Mothers...
Kids had more fun when they organized their own games and it was junior high when they first had a school team. The first year of organized "little leagues" in our towns saw the " coaches" who had played college or pro quitting because of the parents.
And, in college, a full athletic scholarship was enough to attract a good player. Now I watched teams that pay coaches millions and the players to pay losing badly this past weekend though ranked.Y'all turned a game into work and then wonder why the young players aren't enjoying working.
It's "East Los" (East LA). Nothing new here.
