Apparently someone tried to do what they said can't be done and failed. Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
The truck driver failed to stop the 18-wheeler and a motor vehicle pursuit began. Officers with the Pearl Police Department were able to deploy spike strips at the 52-mile marker which were then struck by the 18-wheeler. As the pursuit continued, it traveled through the City of Jackson and began entering the City of Clinton before finally coming to a stop. When deputies and officers approached the truck to apprehend the driver, he initially barricaded himself inside of the cab of semi-truck which led officers to break the driver’s window before he could be arrested.David Sergey Pozdnyakov of Duncan, South Carolina was arrested for Felony Fleeing, DUI, Disobeying a Police Officer, and Careless Driving. Pozdnyakov was transported to the Rankin County Detention Center where he remains incarcerated without bond. This is on-going investigation, and further charges are possible in the State of Mississippi and State of Louisiana. The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department would like to express its appreciation to all the law enforcement agencies involved in this incident.

For a guy that looks like a character in Oh Brother Where art Thou, what a name!
Send him to another state and let them pay for him to live behind bars.
Why is it that whenever kf puts “Idiot of the Day” is often followed by Sheriff Bryan Bailey . . .
Welcome to the Rankin County GULAG, Sergey.
Them Pozdnyakov's are a rough bunch that even the Hatfield's and McCoys knew not to tangle with.
Just a momentary lapse of judgement induced by a tad too much Meth or Flaaka. Just guessing.
So there was apparently no illegal cargo, he just didn’t want to get a DUI?
Q: You realize, of course, that you are out of your jurisdiction?
A: The Germans ain’t got nothing to do with it. And, I’ve been in HIGH SPEED PURSUIT!
Give him two extra years for the neck beard.
No give him a road map! he is already wanted in LA. and he is headed WEST on I20. ???
You can run from the cops in an 18-wheeler, but you gotta be carrying the booze, not drinking it. Just ask Jerry Reed and Burt Reynolds.
He should have had the Bandit running interference for him. I hear Sheriff Buford T Justice is looking for him also.
Westbound and down.
Loaded (up) and trucking...
He should be deported somewhere, anywhere, whether he’s a citizen or just a “citizen.” It’s high time we started cleaning this shithole up, and this turd is a good place to begin.
My thoughts, in order of occurence:
"Sergey Pozdnyakov of Duncan, South Carolina" Now that's a laugh.
All the money in the world cannot buy us tiny ears like his. He gets those great ears, while our granddaughters are looking more like the Aye-aye of Madagascar, with every passing day. (And believe me: our extended family have consulted plastic surgeons from Great Neck to Beverly Hills. We're stuck with these Nosferatu ears. BTW, Kingfish, I think we both know a NIKNARian bodybuilder who had ear-reduction surgery anyway, despite its being impossible, with unfortunate results.)
That face is probably close to the composite image in the Germans' meth-addled heads, when they cooked-up 'Generalplan Ost', so horrifyingly depicted in 'Come and See'.
Krokodil, dahling - it was probably Krokodil. All the Gopniks do it.
West Bound and down! Sorry, had to say it.
hahahaha
Russian mob?
This South Carolina native was probably upset over Clemson losing their playoff game. Cut him some slack and let him out in time to make it down to the Citrus Bowl to see his Gamecocks play.
Maybe his family in South Carolina can drive down and celebrate Christmas with him at the jail.
“I saw that, you sumbitch! You did that on purpose! You're going away till you're gray! I got the evidence!
Are we sure this guy isn't from Florida?
I thought you people learned to not F*** with an 18 wheeler driver on I-20 back about 30 years ago when that KLLM driver barricaded himself up inside the bathroom of the Tarrymore, taking pot shots as passers by on the interstate.
