A Brandon man stands accused of domestic violence in Brandon and Madison.
The victim is Michael Barnard's ex-girlfriend. They have a child together. Brandon police arrested Barnard in May and charged him with aggravated domestic violence. The police report states Barnard called the police to his home shortly after 2 AM on May 18. Both Barnard and his ex-girlfriend blamed the other for any domestic violence that took place. Posted below is an excerpt from the police report.
Another officer stated in the report the female complainant claimed Barnard kicked her several times and choked her "but I observed no visible markings consistent with (Victim)'s claims. There was a redness on her neck but did not appear to be consistent with being choked. (victim)'s injury appeared to be a result of punching Barnard in his left nostril. Sergeant Lindsey also stated "I observed many inconsistencies in (Victim)'s side of the story."
The woman signed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend. Brandon police arrested Barnard and charged him with aggravated domestic violence on July 11.
Barnard filed a complaint against the victim as well, charging her with simple assault domestic violence. The case is pending in Brandon Municipal Court. The District Attorney's office attempted to present the charges against Barnard to the grand jury but the victim said she wanted it kept in Brandon Municipal Court. Thus the case was not presented.
One might assume things would remain quiet for awhile but such as not the case as Barnard allegedly attacked the victim in Madison. The police report states:
Madison police charged Barnard with aggravated assault domestic violence. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney for possible presentation to the grand jury.

What a nice man-
A BMI of 30.7 is nothing to be smiling about
If he wasn’t happy with her he should had just left jer
@ 3:38 The sad thing is that he isn't happy with anyone - and he stays with anyone who puts up with his obese a**. He enjoys beating up women. Big difference than just being unhappy in his relationship.
Seems like there is a lot of domestic violence in Rankin County. Less shooting and killing than Jackson but still a lot of wife beating.
So the officer said there was no visible markings to the victim’s claims, and many inconsistencies with her side of the story, as well as her injury appeared to be the result of her punching the man? Then why did he get arrested and not her?
Cop says he saw no visible markings consistent with victims claims. Then later it states he saw many inconsistencies with her story. Plus her injuries were from punching him in the guys nose- sounds to me like she’s the one who’s at fault
If he got arrested instead of her, it’s probably because like most cops, they lied.
@7:10 if the cops lied on the report.. why did they arrest him? In most domestics, the man is automatically the one the cops take to jail. Just don’t understand because the report clearly says she lied, but the cops saw blood from his nose.
A pretty face will get you a long way with a cop
I heard about this. He broke her wrist by kicking her. Apparently he has a bad temper and this was not the first time this man has been in trouble for violence. Anyone with common sense knows a wrist does not get broken by pushing/hitting someone in the nose. The wrist is difficult to break.
This doesn't seem to be a Todd Mardis situation, just Rankinistanis being their delightful redneck selves with a little mutual combat. Is there more to the story? Is this guy yet another Rankin County Royal Red(neck) trying to hit and run?
Yeah, she broke her wrist punching him? As many rookie cops as Brandon has, I wonder if this one knew what a strangling mark looks like. As for the story itself, funny how some are focusing on Brandon but then ignore the Madison case. Explain that one? Want to explain how allegedly throwing a woman out a moving car is ok?
"Want to explain how allegedly throwing a woman out a moving car is ok?"
Throwing anyone out of a moving car as an act of aggression is not "ok." However, based on your posted info alone (which is all I know about any of this or the folks involved), there appears to be both mutual physical contact and a lot of "he said, she said" mutual, er, "disinformation." I'm all for folks who beat up on weaker parties getting what they deserve, and especially males who repeatedly abuse females. But I've personally seen and know of relationship situations where both parties engaged in violence of varying degrees.
To me, that's different situation. In this particular situation, there just doesn't seem to be enough information to get a reasonable idea of who did what to who and whose version is the more credible. For example, "a moving car" could be one creeping forward out of gear or going down the highway at 140 or anything in between. "Throwing" someone out of the passenger door from the driver's seat isn't easy even in a parked car - sure, it is possible, but doing it while actually driving even on a wide-open residential street at 25-30 mph would be particularly difficult. Again, not impossible, just difficult. On top of that, this guy looks like a fatass on an average frame, not some 6'3" gifted athlete in prime fighting shape - he could beat up a gal in his living room, but tossing anything but a bag of fast food wrappers out of a car while driving it could be more than he could handle.
I have the camera footage if you’d like to see y’all sound dumb as hell
This guy looks like a fatter Tod Mardis!!!!
Bc he doesn’t go to the gym after the shot, Todd did. Apparently he’s taking the wrong hormones though…considering he wants to fight women. Just saying….
