If anyone expected Jackson's Mayor to stay quiet as he fights indictment, guess again as his counterattack has begun. If you want to tune out the family or not see the Cowboys get beat at home yet again, check out the special Thanksgiving Day edition of The Jambalaya with the Kingfish podcast posted below. Yours truly provides some color commentary on an "article" that attacks the indictment of Jackson's Mayor and Savior, Chokwe Antar Lumumba.
If you want to follow along, read the "article" here at the Newsone website. Feel free to dissect it in the comments.

That "article" isn't worth wiping my ass with it.
Tried to read it. Almost threw up.
By now KF and everyone else here should know that the mayor and his media focus has little or nothing to do with the reality that is 2024 Jackson or Mississippi for that matter. However these narratives play well in New York, Detroit, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and among all those radical elements whose funding will support him and his minions in the future. Jackson voters aren't supposed to know about "articles" like this. Face it, they simply aren't talking to us anyway.
I wouldn't hold my breath for the Democrat party to face the racism from certain demographics of their constituency. Considering the ideological bend of their college "educated" and the reaction to the election expect them to double down.
I’m so thankful I don’t live in Jackson
Sigh....how many times must it be said? Chokwe - you might beat the rap, but you won't survive the ride. Best outcome? Bankruptcy. Worst outcome? Federal prison and bankruptcy.
No one who lives in Jackson, black or white, would believe one word in that article. Remember, Lumumba says the quiet part out loud. All he cares about is steering contracts to his cronies. He’s perfectly willing to destroy the city in order to monetize the office. He’s going to prison. Count on it.
I am sorry, but my advice to the mayor will be, “Bend over and assume the position “
Does the article explain how 'the man' managed to trick them into the 'high class' strip club with 'the man's' money to spend on the working girls?
I love the name you assigned to this crazy woman KF.. you call her “half-bright” Haynes and that is exactly what she is
I don't know about that. The same fools who vote for him are the same fools who will make up the jury. It only takes one fool to acquit him.
Hard to believe legit publications would even associate with someone who writes this kind of rubbish.
I predict Cowboys by 7.
@8:46 PM Not exactly. It's a federal case, so the jury pool is made up of potential jurors from all over the Southern District of Mississippi.
Ol' Chowke may very likely be trying to influence potential jurors. It's about time for a gag order. Right?
8:46, obviously you do t’t realize or likely understand that this won’t be tried in Hind County (thankfully).
To write a post for News One you must have the qualifications of nothing greater than a GED from Mississippi.
8:46 — The jury pool won’t be from Hinds County only, but from all counties encompassed in the Southern District, Jackson Division.
Where is the civil litigation v the DA and the mayor?
They will try to get this moved to the Mississippi Delta. Also Detroit doesn’t want this loser back. He tried to blame the white mayor of Detroit and the white population increase of Detroit recently on NBA owner and billionaire den Gilbert bc he has revitalized the city and Chokwe and those guys were squeezed out and he blames race for it so his posse came to Jackson. Aren’t we lucky!!!
Tp a commenter: Good comment you wrote but not approving it. ;-). You did good uncovering that little nugget of info near the end. You went on a quest for sacred knowledge and found it. Everyone else should have to take the same pilgrimage you did. It wouldn't be fair to you or them, as Q would say. ;-)
I'm happy to let a jury decide someone's guilt or innocence rather than risk "tainting" a jury or nearly impossible to seat a jury that doesn't know about the case. I would suggest if a lawyer feels the need to try a case in the media, it is because he lacks confidence that the evidence supports his client or feels his legal skills aren't up to the task but has excellent "con man" skills.
Mississippi Today is advertising to fill a new position of Jackson reporter. No doubt we'll get a somewhat better informed version of this article, but basically still along the same lines.
@ 8:46 PM You do know the District consists of others outside of Jackson who know nothing about him or any of them the jury might not have anyone from jackson or close to here.
Article as insightful as a Farrakhan sermon.
Let's review a few highlights from the article:
"...a playground for people who have money...plans to turn Jackson into a resort destination..."
Er, yeah. Bezos is probably checking to see if Oceanco can turn out a 400-foot pontoon boat to put on the Rez. "Bass-trackers, Bayliners and a party barge, strung together like a floatin' trailer park..." And his gal-pal shore looks Rankin Riche...
"...the attacks against him in the primarily red state led by a MAGA governor, Tate Reese..."
Well, him or our Light Guv, Delbert Horstmann
"Jackson, Mississippi, was 60% white in 1970 and home to the most thriving businesses and school system in the state. Then came the close of the Civil Rights Movement and school desegregation in 1969."
Um...1970, then came 1969? Then came...what, the Crash of 1929? The Battle of Hastings?
And whoever chose the pic of Chok loading an M. Palozola Produce USDA Food Box into what appears to be a fairly loaded sedan might not have thought that choice out.
Any trials will probably be held on the coast as well.
I hope so, Kingfish.
I fail to see a single thing that Chokwe has done for the Black community. I don't know anything about him distributing free food but when Chokwe tanked the water system, federal law required that the city supply water to people by whatever means. Black people have suffered more under Chokwe. They were more likely to have NO water (since many poorer neighborhoods were further from the two plants), and they are more affected by crime.

Everyone knows that.

I'm wondering WHY Donald Trump ever COMMUTED the prison sentence of the totally corrupt former mayor of Detroit (a Democrat) Kwame Kilpatrick. (See https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-kwame-kilpatrick-detroit-8441a18980a74aaa6503a5c098db25a1 .)
Trump's commutation of Kilpatrick's prison sentence seems to have paved the way for some judge to release Kilpatrick's partner in crime, Bobby Ferguson, from prison ten years early. (See https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/detroit/2021/04/30/bobby-ferguson-home-family-kilpatrick/7412345002/ .)
AND NOTE: One of Bobby Ferguson's attorneys in the Detroit scandals, Gerald Evelyn, is NOW one of Chokwe Antar Lumumba's attorneys! (See https://www.wlbt.com/2024/11/21/attorneys-seeking-push-back-jackson-bribery-trial-need-more-time-review-evidence/ .)
What do those particular Democrats have on Trump?
Jackson is little Detroit
