Fox Convicted

The jury convicted Anthony Fox of manslaughter by Culpable Negligence in the death of George Robinson when he was a Jackson police officer.

Circuit Judge Adrienne Wooten ordered deputies to immediately take him into custody.  She will sentence him in two weeks.

Kingfish note: Don't be shocked if this case is reversed and remanded.

What a sad day… a good officer and good friend…. We see you FOX, we have your back!!

This is So Wrong said...

I have a strong suspicion that the jury instructions were defective and confused the jury which led them to a conviction.

The druggies won a big one today...and the DA and Wooten facilitated it.

other defendants, dismissed by other circuit judge. Civil suit, dismissed by federal judge. Judge "Woke-Wooten" tries to block press from courtroom.

I predict she gets a smack-down on the attempt to bar the press and a prompt reversal by the Court of Appeals.

I feel an even worse "Blue Flu" may now infect Jackson/Hinds Law Enforcement.

The voters of hinds county that keep electing these judges and DA’s are also the voters who get chosen for jury duty…

Dang. Didn’t expect this. Glad I left”the job” 17 years ago.

I'm surprised we even have a police force at all. This is ridiculous.

It can’t possibly be that he’s guilty? It can’t possibly be that? Even tho a grand jury thought their was evidence to indict. A jury literally heard the evidence and convicted this man and y’all sit in here and talk about the Judge? Literally people who do not know him at all…who are not with the DAs office or the judge. Then officers in the courtroom basically threatened everyone, which ummm probably only confirmed their feelings. All on live stream. It’s sad all around. It’s sad all around. It will never not be sad. But people need to open their eyes…12 people from across the spectrum listened and judged and decided

841 pm, Anthony Fox was exonerated by internal affairs. He was exonerated by the MBI. He was exonerated by the FBI. The medical examinator even exonerated him. Let’s not forget that the other two officers involved were exonerated by judge Faye Peterson. I’m confident that Anthony Fox will be proven innocent in the end. I’m also certain that Wooten and Owens (I dare not give them the respect of thier titles) will escape the consequences they deserve for this injustice. Dennis Sweet cares about one thing and that is fattening his pockets. It makes one wonder what Wooten and Owens stand to gain from this lynching of an innocent man. Unfortunately, Anthony Fox and his family are suffering until his name is cleared (as if it ever needed to be cleared). Prayers for Anthony and his family.

Greta Bully at home, and they trying to put Fox in prison. Wooten just lost my vote.

Don't forget it was Chokwe Lumumba who insisted that the three officers be indicted. That idiot Wooten. that moldering pile of illegal drugs named Dennis Sweet, Jody Owens, Lumumba, and all three ADAs are responsible for this horrible miscarriage of justice.

@10:41 fox was never investigated by MBI. He couldn’t be exonerated by MBI if he was never investigated by MBI. The other two officers charges were dismissed bc no one in the courtroom could identify them as being apart of this, bc all the witnesses only said Fox’s name and could only identify Fox. The officers weren’t cleared by internal affairs, they found that they violated many JPD policies. Two medical examiners ruled the death a homicide by blunt force trauma. Even the defense experts said it was blunt force trauma cause of death. You are woefully uneducated about the facts. Also the fbi didn’t clear Fox. The civil case was dismissed by a judge bc of qualified immunity which only applies to civil cases NOT criminal cases. The FBI tried to go after them as well but couldn’t. If you don’t know the law and facts. Hush up.

@12:03 greta bully shouldn’t be at home! But that wasn’t judge wootens fault. Judge Wooten had nothing to do with the sentencing of greta bully. A special judge not elected by the citizens of hinds county sentenced greta bully to probation. Fox could get straight probation too!

So the police investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing, but an impartial jury heard the evidence and convicted him. Someone needs to investigate the internal affairs processes, clearly they covered up a crime. Thin blue line operates with the same rules as a typical street gang. We have to get someone outside that gang to investigate when officer misconduct is alleged.

End qualified immunity. Police should be required to pay for malpractice insurance so that taxpayers aren’t left to pay for their criminal misdeeds.

I doubt that Fox will get "straight probation." If so he wouldn't have been taken into custody and his bail would have been continued.

For the most part the judiciary in Jackson and certainly the mayor are cop haters.

"Even the defense experts said it was blunt force trauma cause of death." Blunt force trauma could be Killer George merely hitting his head while he resisted arrest. Blunt force trauma doesn't necessarily mean what you think it means.

"I have a strong suspicion that the jury instructions were defective and confused the jury which led them to a conviction." Why not, the Judge is defective and confused. This will be overturned in due time.

I guess this travesty of justice sets up a nice payoff for the upcoming civil suit for wrongful death, extracting money from Jackson taxpayers and lining the pockets of a lawyer.

LINK For a funding account to assist Mr. Fox with Legal fees?
An appeal should be happening... Let's help him!
Anyone?

@11:45 - I don’t think the donation sites allow convicted killers to get charity. Maybe you can send a check.

The citizens should remember this travesty of justice at election time.

@12:22 Wrong... and no one asked you to think....
You know good and well offenders LEGAL reps can accept payment via donations.

@1:19 - Wrong!!!! You asked for a link, which implies the major fundraising websites. Read the terms of service for gofundme or this dumbed down article: https://medium.com/gofundme-stories/gofundme-policy-on-fundraisers-for-the-legal-defense-of-violent-crimes-975aff8ba5f6

@1:19 - looks like you should go back to the drawing board because I think better than you do.

Gofundme terms of service state:

Ending qualified immunity will open a Pandora's box the will never be closed and will effect every person in this country. There are too many ways to count and too stupid the number of people to understand. I can only hope the people wanting it the most will feel it first. And they will be blaming something else but I will know.

@11:45 There is a Gofundme link on Fox’s wife’s fb account.

Bottom line is the court system in Jackson is pro-criminal-catch and release no matter the crime (their record proves it) and anti-police. It was obvious from the court procedings ( muted mike to the video) on objections that the Judge is also anti-police. It's just another sad day for the people of Jackson. And people wonder why they can't hire police officers in Jackson (over 200 officers low).

Anonymous said...

The department of justice cleared the officers of any civil rights violations. How the hell can an officer murdersomeone and not violate their civil rights?

'Straight probation' or not. His career is ended and his life is forever affected in multiple, negative ways. His chair at the barber-shop, as they say, has been turned against the wall.

KF, curious to know why you think this one will be reversed and remanded.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
